Food: Ordered the Fish Filet Meal with Medium fries and a medium drink. I wanted to add pickles. That's it. I did drive through. It was close to 7:30 pm on a Tuesday in July, and there was no one. A customer in front of me was a bit frustrated with his order, and I heard him yell, "I'll just come in!" He did pull into the place where you wait for your order. I pulled to the window, and I knew I would have to ask for ketchup and a napkin for my meal. I guess no one eats fries with ketchup and no one uses a napkin anymore? I then drove to the library to eat in my car. The fish was slammed to the side of the bun so far that I thought it wouldn't be able to be placed properly with the melted cheese, and the two pickles were folded angrily, and I almost didn't see it in between the tartar sauce. And the fries were COLD! I couldn't finish them. And the window person only gave me ONE KETCHUP PACKET AND ONE NAPKIN!!! ALL FOR $11.15!!!!!!! No wonder I only eat out every other month or so. This was ridiculous. Too bad Market Basket isn't nearby. You can get a hot prepared meal, and they are way nicer for a fraction of the cost. I've been living in Holden for 15 years, but I'm a NC Southern girl. I had my first job at 15 years old at Burger King. It was in the 1990s, in the middle of three universities and two colleges, and summers were busy. But we were still expected to have hot fries and fresh burgers at all times. We were constantly refreshing the fries and refilling the condiments. I don't think the fast food industry and expectations are the same anymore. I ordered two McDoubles off of the value menu. No drink. No fries. They were supposed to be under $3 each. When I went to pay for my meal, I heard the guy call over his microphone that the car in front of me had not paid for their food yet. I paid for my meal and then drove to the next window to get my two burgers. The person working looked at me like I had two heads when I told her that I had not ordered a McChicken. What happened to this McDonald's?! Everytime we've been here in the last year (about half a dozen times) it's been shit. We keep thinking it will get better, but it never does. And this used to be a good McDonald's. Today, we got three sandwiches and some fries. The fries were the only edible food. Both quarter pounders were pink (more than half the patty) and had soggy bottom buns. The Big Mac was gross and had a soggy bottom bun. Drive Through only On Saturday mornings on my shopping extravaganza to Holden often includes a quick pass through McDonald's. I never eat any food other than the fries ( with extra GMOs I know) and get a small coke. I do this only because I have a little dog that loves french fries more than me. And on one occasion an employee was so nice she happened to have treats in her pocket for my little guy. The drive through is slowwww sometimes but I find that the case with like every single fast food restaurant, especially McDonalds. Haven/t been inside this location since the early 90s so I dunno what goes on in there. I love the new hot chocolate and the chocolate shakes are better these days. I recently was at this establishment and asked for mayonnaise in my strawberry banana smoothie, and they proceeded to not fulfill my requests of putting mayonnaise in my smoothie. I am outraged, I wrote this as soon as I got home. I want you to know that I will not be returning back to this establishment ever or any of it's other restaurants. Normally I leave very good reviews with 5 stars but this is only 4 stars because that's how bad it was, with no mayonnaise and I wanted so bad. I needed to get my mayonnaise craze and craving off, haven't had it this bad since I was pregnant with my 2 year old. During this period of my pregnancy, I ate mayonnaise everyday out of the jar with the spoon, not just any spoon a ladle(now I only do this occasionally). The inside has been renovated and looks great. The playground did not get updated, but it is still decent. Unfortunately, the primary problems with this location persist, despite the renovations: cold fries/food, incredibly long wait times, disorganized counter and poor, unfriendly service. This all points to the same problem - the staff. I typically a bunch of teenagers standing around looking lost and one actual adult busting ass trying to do everything. I like to get a plain sandwich (cheeseburger) but sometimes I get a little bored from it so sometimes I get chicken nuggets and French fries. It's a difficult task to accomplish but Holden McDonalds did it with spectacular skill. They beat out all of Worcester for the nastiest men's restroom around. I don't know how the health department lets this place operate. The odor of raw sewage is overpowering from the toilet not connected to the floor. Filthy walls, doors and sink. I've let management know several times and they could not care less. The people touching your food are supposed to use this bathroom as well. Stay far far away. read more

I will not return to this location. It's awful! The staff is careless and poorly trained. They are always out of something or the shake machine doesn't work. I was in my car the other day and heard a cute commercial for their Filet-O-Fish and thought "hmm, that would nicely fill the void in my tummy" so I pulled in. I first tried the drive-thru, but some annoying woman with fat arms in a minivan was going nowhere! After 5 minutes none of the cars moved, so I backed up into a space and went inside. The service inside was fine, and I went back out to my car. As I was leaving, the minivan had only moved up one space (still 2 cars behind the pickup window), which made me realize what a bunch of lazy people we've become. After a football game me and my 3 friends decided we wanted to stop for some food and to use the bathrooms. The bathroom smelt like something out of my worst nightmare, there was pee all over the urinal and floor. The bathroom looked like it was cleaned last in 1958. This is probably the worst McDonald's in Central Mass. Most employees are younger than 18 and are either poorly trained or uneducated to hear what your order is and correctly prepare it. There is almost always a long line at this particular location more than any other because the employees are so slow. I've seen many customers get out of line multiple times because they didn't want to wait ten minutes for a meal that was supposed to be fast- hence the term "fast food." This location needs to be re-staffed and run differently for this McDonalds to improve. read more
