Typical little diner but clean and somewhat modern. Servings are humongous to say the least . Greek omelette was huge and pretty good except eggs were a little dry . If you like tomatoes ,get this , it had like 50 diced tomatoes inside ! Home fries weren't that great . Had another egg and cheese in a bagel which was good too ! Service was typical for a place like this , not bad , not great . Food was extremely hot when it came out which was awesome . Have you ever burnt your lips on eggs ? I hadn't til this morning . We put our name on the wait list and got in about 30 minutes later. It was 11:30 on a Sunday, a 30 minute wait wasn't bad. The staff was pleasant and were non stop with tables. My coffee cup was never empty. I got the Irish bene, it was fantastic, something I would definitely order again. I'm stuffed!! Celebrating an achievement from UPS before I hit the slopes by checking this place out. When I helped out the Worcester building this winter I was told to come here for food but never did. Well today I was in town and I popped in. Pancakes as you can see by the picture are huge, would not recommend two, one is plenty lol. My only complaint would be the fork I was using had a bend in one of the prongs. Brody's is reliable for hearty breakfasts and lunch -- but note that they close at 1:30PM. They are very much a truck stop diner, no frills, good basics and a few not-so-basics worth trying: various benedicts (Irish, seafood, etc.) and their Italian Breakfast is one of my favorites. Between poor customer service and a meal that did not meet expectations, I advise you to go to other diners in the area, such as Boulevard Diner or Kenmore Diner, where you will be appreciated as a customer. Stay away from Brody's. While the diner was nice, clean, and cozy, the service at Brody's left much to be desired. After our order was taken, the server never came back to check in. Most of the food was delicious, but the cheeseburger omelet was poorly prepared. The cheese was cold, and the beef was not well seasoned. I brought this to the attention of our server (who still had not checked in on us throughout our meal), and she spoke to the manager. The dish was ultimately taken back and we were not charged, but the server spoke to us with a bad attitude that soured my experience. read more

So I have driven past this place a million times, and always thought it was closed down; but to my surprise they just have early-daytime hours. thought I would stop by for a qick take-out order and the food was very good the staff was friendly and the grill cook was great (he had jokes for days) good spot for breakfast and I would recommend them. read more

Your mileage will vary depending on who's waiting on you. I stopped in for the first time today. The lady at the front was friendly and had a very widening demeanor. The lady that waited on me didn't crack a smile at any point. She looked like she was in a rush, even though the place was hardly busy at the time. I hadn't even finished telling her what I wanted before she started walking away. I didn't see her again until she came back with my order. The food was ok, not great. I ordered the corned beef hash with two eggs over medium, home fries, and a side of hollandaise. I asked for the hash to be well done, but it wasn't. Actually, it looked and tasted like it came straight out of a can. My fault for assuming it was homemade. The eggs were over easy, a lot runnier than I asked for. The home fries were cut too big. They must have used russet potatoes with the skin left on. The skin was burned on all the pieces. I had to peel it off. I asked my server for hot sauce. She came back with a bottle of Frank's that had a few drops left in it. She dropped it on the table as she walked by. The coffee was good... better than you usually get in a diner. The hollandaise was good too, even though it wasn't homemade either. The price was not bad... $15 total. I guess you get what you pay for. The lady at the front rang me up. Again, she very friendly and, unlike my server, full of smiles. I wish I had gotten their names. All I remember is that my server had black hair and the lady at the front desk was blonde. read more

WAITRESSES GET IN PHYSICAL ALTERCATION. Honestly horrifying experience today at Brody's diner. First time in. Waited 15 minutes to be seated. We asked a question about the menu and our waitress went to ask the kitchen and never came back. 5 minutes later, 3 waitresses start screaming and swearing at each other so loudly that the whole restaurant stopped talking. One waitress started pushing the other (the manager I think) and the manager started kicking her and then the waitress punched her, quit, and demanded money. Heard something about the police getting called. More screaming . We then walked out. Can't say anything about the food LOL! read more

My first time at Brody's. We had a lovely breakfast--- the food was pretty good . My pumpkin pancake was black on half of it, though. See the picture. The portions are huge----too big really unless you are 600 lbs. THEN..... What made me really mad---it was time to put the left overs in a to go container but she must have taken my fork. I asked for another fork as I had a full plate of scrambled eggs, hash, homefries and toast. She said " oh I'm going to dump it" and as I'm saying no... she picks up the plate and dumps it ... not carefully or neatly into the box. So now it is a giant mess.... all mixed together. It's a sloppy pile. I said "that is exactly what I didn't want to do" and she just walked away. I was sooooo mad!!!! It ruined my entire experience at Brody's. read more

OMG! The best breakfast I've had in a long time. Truck drivers all over the world, when parking at Flynn's Truck stop you must go to Brody's Diner across the street. My hubby and I drive a truck and have been to Massachusetts several times. We always say we're gonna go to Brody's but never do. Now, from here on in I'm in Brody's for breakfast. read more

I've been eating at Brody's since 2006, when I lived in metro west. I'm in Quincy now, but have made the trek out to Shrewsbury for a fantastic breakfast. Food is always very good and consistent, excellent prices, and great service. Great location with plenty of parking, and always friendly waitstaff. You can have breakfast anytime, and they make a rock solid burger. Two things that definitely rock at Brody's is the hash and coffee. Highest recommendation! read more

We stumbled on this one after walking out of another place. You could tell it was a town favorite. The place was packed. I loved watching the cook work his skillet. He was on his A game. Hit or miss. Two times before was great. This morning the same omelet came looking like a scrambler and was literally dripping with grease. The home fries were a big pile of mush. When questioned, the answer was that the omelet was cooked on a flat grill. That is how most diners cook them yet, they don't resemble this greasy mess. Still, 3 Stars due to previous visits. We did a diner hop tour of Worcester & the surrounding towns. What a wonderful undertaking! Brody's Diner was of particular interest to me because my grandson's name is Brody. ;D We watched our breakfast being made on the big ol' grill to the right as you walk in the door. The cook (he could have been the owner) was friendly & smiling. We chose to sit at a booth but you can go old-school & eat at the counter. If you're visiting in the warm months, sit in the back because it's cooler. Our waitress was friendly, helpful & efficient. I started my breakfast with a house salad (yep, you read that right) & it was huge & so fresh! You can tell the chef went the extra mile. Little hand-diced chunks of red, green & yellow peppers were a gourmet touch you wouldn't expect from a mom-and-pop diner. The cucumbers were nicely sliced (you couldn't read the newspaper through them like some restaurants) & so fresh. This salad is a bargain! The egg dishes were done to perfection. We had a western omelet which was like homemade (nice chunks of ham diced by hand; onion bits not too big, not too small; deliciously-done eggs). I like my eggs between over-easy & -medium. And that's just how mine came out: Perfect. The french toast was fabulous (thick slices of good bread with a nice crispy crust & a cinnamon-y flavor). I love this place & I'll be sure to go back next time I visit the Boston area. read more
