This is my absolute favorite breakfast place in Worcester! Such a cute small town feel with fantastic food and great portions. We have had the same server multiple times and she is so sweet!

Excellent food , outstanding service , their omelets are worth the visit. Sometimes busy , worth the wait. Very clean restaurant.

This place is a must try if you haven't already try their chili it's one of the best things on the menu!! In my opinion this place is the best breakfast/ diner spot in Worcester!

Food: I got the city line diner breakfast, made to great quality and enjoyable. The flavor had the perfect amount of saltiness and savory Service: our server was great, made sure we had everything, easy going Ambiance: it's very family offering tables and a counter top, much like a modern style diner Location accommodation: location had a parking lot and can park on the side, it does get packed after 10am on weekends for brunch. My friend and I got there in a Sunday morning at 9:30am with no wait.

This place is a hidden gem. FOOD: DELICIOUS! Portion sizes are spectacular. Think Big Pinks in Miami or Big Daddy's in NYC. The sides are all a healthy amount and prices are super reasonable. You get A LOT of food. Entrees are easily able to fill 2 ppl. The only feedback I have is that I do wish they had bacon or sausage alternatives for people who don't eat pork. SERVICE: We've had great service the few times we've been here. Even if it's packed, we're seated promptly and able to order in under 15 minutes. The food is usually out no more than 15 mins after we place the order and the cook in the back with the glasses throws DOWN. There's always a smile on everyone's face, they make sure to say "bye/thank you/have a great day" when you're leaving, even if they're at another table and extra napkins are brought promptly. VIBE: I'd say it's a normal diner vibe but with cleaner bathrooms than normal. The customers are VERY diverse (since Worcester is diverse) but there are young people, old people, groups, couples, families, friends and whatever else of all colors, shapes, sizes and backgrounds. In the few times we've been there we've seen Asian, Black, Latino, White and Native people patron the place. We've seen groups for lunch, brunch, graduation meals, post church meals, breakfast, dates and snacks. Everyone left full and seemingly happy. I'd definitely recommend.

First time here, breakfast food was phenomenal and we ordered items that aren't easy for some places to do well- eggs benny and chicken fried steak. The chicken fried steak here is special. I will be coming back for this again and again. We also ordered a chocolate chip pancake and it was massive and also exceptionally good for a pancake. Lastly the service was great too- never had to track down the waitress - frequent stop bys and coffee top offs. We found our new breakfast spot!

Really enjoyed the food! Extensive menu with some great prices. There was a long line of people ahead of us but we only waited around 20 mins. They move quick! Can't believe how busy they get, but they stay on top of it to ensure service and food quality is still top-notch. Would definitely return if I'm by the area again.

It was our first time coming here. We came for Saturday brunch. It's very popular. We were told that there was a 15-20 minute wait, but didn't even wait that long for a table to open up. We had hot chocolate and the Oreo pancakes. OMG, the pancakes were huge, fluffy, and so good! We both had to take half of it home.

Needed a quick bite for our party of 6 before we hopped on a Worcester flight back home to FL. Most places around looked very small on the inside so that was a main focus. We arrived and were immediately seated at a good size table and asked for our drinks. I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was HUGE. I basically only ate half of it and shared the other half with the table and I was still full. The bacon was cooked perfectly and everyone was happy with their meal choices!! My husband and I discovered this place on our way to Maine. So glad we stopped. This diner is so comfortable and inviting. The staff was great, friendly and attentive. The waitress even told us how to correctly pronounce the town's name. The food was terrific. I had the Apple Crisp French Toast - the bread was delicious. My husband had a club sandwich with fries. He said it was delicious. The portions were generous, go hungry. You will not be disappointed. read more

The best little diner you don't know about! It's quaint, clean and the service is genuinely friendly. We had driven by a few times and decided to finally try it. I'm so glad we did. We slid in under the cut-off as they close at 3 everyday. It's breakfast and lunch only folks! Side note: They do breakfast all day, and we plan to try that next time we visit! My partner and I decided to get as traditional as you can get for diner fare. She got the tuna melt and I the patty melt. Food comes out FAST and HOT. I'm a big eater and I couldn't even finish my fries. The portions are big and the quality is great. My melt was loaded with grilled onions and a FAT 8 ounce burger patty. It also came with: Fries were crispy, coleslaw crunchy and fresh. My lady opted for tots in place of the fries and they were top notch. I know it sounds like I'm trumpeting very simple diner food, but there is absolutely something to be said for execution, even on simple items. This place does not disappoint. read more

Wow was this place a treat! I've been meaning to explore more of the diners around Worcester and finally got to City Line Diner on my list. Wait time varies but for a Sunday morning on Mother's Day - we got in within 10 mins! I went for the "the city line" which included 2 sausage, 2 bacon, toast, homefries, and choice of pancakes or French toast ( I got French toast and it was delicious!) 3 of us got the city line (such a steal for all of that food for $15.50) and then one person got the breakfast burrito. You know that the food is amazing when it goes silent after everything comes out! So good and the portions were huge - definitely grabbed some to go boxes... This place was a great place to go with friends for brunch - busy environment but not too loud that you couldn't hear the person across from you. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu! read more

My best friend, my son and I came here for breakfast. I have to say the food was outstanding but our service was just awful. The restaurant seemed a little busy, which is fine. We had an older woman with dyed red hair as our server.. she was beyond rude the entire time, she seemed irritated and angry, possibly because they were busy.. she even went as far as to give my 4 year old an attitude for needing napkins. Maybe they need more servers or a food runner or maybe just someone who doesn't absolutely hate their job. As someone in the food industry, I would never treat customers like that. read more

City Line has by far the best chicken and waffles around. I don't know what they put in their breading, but it brings fried chicken to a whole new level. Both the food and service are fantastic. Our server is always attentive and the food comes out fast. Worth every penny! read more

Solid diner. Great addition to Worcester and this side of the city. Owners are two best friends one of which used to be an EMT. They put a lot of effort into revamping this once friendlys location. The menu isn't anything that's crazy different or going to blow you out of the water. You'll find your diner mainstays like Irish breakfast, bennies, club sandwiches and bowls of chili And like everything in between ! Reason I come here versus another diner would be solely for the chicken and waffles- it's perfect! Giant chicken breast fried up crispy tastes like the best combo for the nicely executed waffle and accompanied by the maple syrup and butter for the best everrrrr breakfast experience (or lunch ) i also can speak highly of the French toast, really nice and well stuffed omelettes and the coffee isn't fantastic but it's not just flavored hot water either. Gotta hold out for 11 am sometime and get in there for lunch. Buffalo chicken Sammich is a great choice as well as the club sandwich BUT The burgers are actually so damn good I wish they were open past 2 pm - is really be getting them all the time. The best ever (basic) burger honestly outside of my own kitchen. The staff alone is worth the visit. They are always quick and absolutely a delight. read more

Outraged! Wife has been here a bunch of times and never invited me. Stopped here today for lunch and they actually have all day breakfast (they are open 6am-2pm). Parking a plenty, friendly staff, and food was delicious. I'm outraged my wife kept this a secret. Unbelievable. 10 years of marriage and you think you know someone. From the friendly service the moment you walk into the door, to the engaging waitstaff...I love this place. Would totally add this to my top three great breakfast places in Worcester. City Line diner has fresh foods, and will cook whatever you like special order. It seems to be family run, and I would much rather give my money to a family business. Great portions, fresh food, large selection. Great for families, can accommodate large parties as well. Come back to the table with your family and let City Line diner serve you. I've been watching the renovation of the old Friendly's Restaurant at the bottom of Goddard Memorial Drive (Airport Drive) and Rt. 9 intersection and waiting for the City Line Diner to open. Well, very early this morning, I saw the "OPEN" sign on, so in I went. I'm a big fan of Diner's in general. In a lot of ways, it is a long lost art. It just has a nice atmosphere that I'm comfortable with. With that said, first impressions mean a lot to me. The design and styling knock it out of the park. The interior of the diner is a classic Diner theme. Very nice counter and quite a few tables all in the main area. I didn't count, but it looks like seating for around 40-50 people? Plenty of room. I usually have a Turkey Club sandwich as my "go to food" to evaluate a diner type restaurant, Well, it was around 06:20, so I ordered a bacon egg sandwich on an English Muffin to take with me. A simple diner food staple, but you'd be surprised on how many places cant' get it right. After ordering, within a very short time my order was ready. The food smelled great, looked great, and most important tasted great. It was clearly cooked on a grill, not some micro wave drive thru bland tasting junk food. You can really taste the difference in quality eggs, bacon and potatoes. This was an enjoyable breakfast. I met George the owner, a very professional restaurant owner. He was very pleasant and proud of his restaurant and his staff, as he should be. I could see a little in cooking area. Appeared well organized, employee's were professional, and everything I saw was spotless. Like I mentioned, first impressions matter. Good job City Line Diner. Upon walking in, our party was nicely greeted by their host and was told there would be a 15 minute wait time, which I was pleasantly surprised that it turned into 10 minutes instead. We were quickly served drinks and our order was taken shortly after. The food didn't take long but the small wait was well worth it. Everything was delicious, plates were cleared and I'm still thinking about our meals. Couldn't recommend this place more. A menu board is posted over the order counter and two soft drink coolers to choose a bottled beverage from are next to the cashier. The menu offers a variety of sandwiches, salads and soups. There are a lot of sauces you can add to your sandwich if the menu doesn't specify what condiments are included. You can also make your sandwich a 'platter' if you want to add fries, onion rings and coleslaw to your sandwich. I ordered the roast beef and asked for horse radish sauce. There was a *lot* of sauce on this sandwich. So much so, that was all I could really taste so I'm not sure if I actually like their roast beef or not. I should have asked if I could get it 'on the side' I suppose. Live and learn. From what I could see under the sauce, the roast beef is cooked very rare. It was difficult to chew through and with all that sauce it made for a very messy meal. We ate in their dining room which is a small, pleasant space with lots of old photos of Worcester. The napkins available at the table are kind of useless. They smear the mess, they don't mop it up. I used a LOT of napkins trying to keep tidy while eating my sandwich. The fries were very good when hot. Crispy outside, fluffy inside. The coleslaw was almost without flavor. Salt and pepper are on the table. You're going to want those. Just watch that salt shaker, it comes out FAST! There is one restroom for all guests at the back, past the kitchen. It's clean and in good working condition.

The sandwich was great, the meat was tender and juicy and full of flavor, the bread was very good, and the portion size justified the price. We split it between us, and it was plenty for a lunch. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with the soup which I felt was bland, flavorless and very fatty. But the matzah ball itself was awesome! Big and delicious. Overall, we really loved our visit to this unique restaurant that uses their revenue to support their summer camp program for local children.

Service throughout the night was extremely poor. The waitress only took half of the table's drink order initially, disappeared for around 10 minutes, then returned to finish taking the rest. The same delays happened again when taking food orders. After our orders were placed, she barely checked on our table at all. We repeatedly needed napkins, drink refills, and general assistance, but had difficulty getting her attention while she stood near the register on her phone for extended periods of time. As the restaurant became busier after 5 PM, we couldn't help but notice that other guests were being greeted, seated, and attended to much more promptly while our table of 10 felt forgotten and neglected for most of the evening. I understand larger parties can require more coordination and patience, and we were understanding about longer food wait times. However, basic attentiveness and hospitality were missing entirely. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant for larger parties and hope the wait staff receives additional customer service training moving forward.

Simply the best!!! I have not tried something that has yet to disappoint me. Food is always so fresh and delicious you must try the Apple Crisp Waffle omg they are to die for. The staff is always so friendly and nice very clean place. It's always so busy but even though they are busy food doesn't take long. I always go with my daughter and they treat her like a princess, both owners are super friendly and nice I love that even though they are the owners they work in any way that they can they take orders they bring food out they take calls ect ect. Took my daughter out to breakfast today and decided to try the City Line Diner.. Service was top notch, facility was super clean inside and out. Parking was a little tight because it was full which is a great sign. The Food was over the top good and my 10yr old said it's our new best spot. The portions are excellent as we needed boxes.
