This diner is exactly as I expected it to be. The seats were glittery gold and some were embellished with gold duct tape to hold together their seams. There's no shame in that, it gives it charm. Walking in, one shouldn't expect some over gusto greeting, it's a diner, seat yourself anywhere or at the counter and get someone's attention to order when you're ready. Food selections aren't over complicated, tho if you're a vegan or vegetarian I think you'd be hard pressed for breakfast because everything is cooked on the same cooking space. I ordered the #2 two eggs, sausage/ bacon and toast, with a side of spicy hashbrowns. The eggs were exceptionally delicious as I could taste the hint of meats on them. I've read good reviews on this old school diner and the family enjoys the finer experience and usually a good meal. Not out experience here and am moderately surprised but the great reviews and "cheap" food. Our bill for a family of 4 came to just under $70!!! I could have gone to the steakhouse for four of us! Three of us having 1 pancake and home fries with a meat side, like bacon. NOT steak. What in the world??? And one persons pancake was wrong and wasn't finally remade till everyone else was finished! And only because we asked a second time when it would be coming. Ugh! I do have to say that we adore diner food and know that sometimes it can be greasy. Between the pancake & home fries my daughter & I had to stop eating with how much grease there was. The cream for my tea was old and had curdled floaties once it was poured into my tea. Did our first Sunday morning visit here. It was a great little breakfast diner. Our waitress was super sweet and really accommodating. My coffee was never empty and we never felt rushed even though I realized after the fact that they had a close time of 1pm and we left slightly after that. The food was great! I got hash with eggs and toast and a side order of a pancake. The pancake was super fluffy and delicious! The hash and eggs were also great. My boyfriend was happy the rye they served was real rye bread. He ordered the steak and eggs and was impressed with the piece of steak his order arrived with. I love the old school decor and the old timely diner feel. The booths are old school and comfy. Prices were on par, food was fantastic and service was great. Driving around on a Sunday morning looking for a breakfast place. Every other place we passed was packed with a line waiting to get in. Came across Corner Lunch and decided to give it a try. It is a typical looking diner...l) a little outdated (and I wouldn't have it any other way). Specials board was just inside the door, filled with some great options. The also had a pretty well rounded regular menu. Our server was awesone...very pleasant with just a little "diner waitress" attitude. They were busy but never had a line out the door...not sure why, maybe the location which is a little off of the beaten path. All of the food we ordered was amazing. Between the three of us we had eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage, ham steak, french toast and waffles. Everything was spot on. We will definitely be back! read more

I kinda hate diners so finding one that I don't hate is a pretty big deal. This is probably really a 3.5 but I didn't have any negatives outright. The food was decent, good service, friendly locals, reasonably priced. Our portions weren't huge but that's probably a good thing because I don't feel like shit afterwards of binge eating. The food and service were adequate. A little pricey for a diner, but a 40 minute wait from ordering to receiving my meal is crazy. It was moderately busy, but to-go orders seemed to take precedence over those dining in. I was by myself and ordered off the menu, only specifying that I'd like my home fries crispy. They were not. If you can get over the looks of the place; the post cards from Florida, old baseball flyers/cards and make shift signs made with 1994 version of Print shop deluxe, you will enjoy a good breakfast or lunch here. Despite the old mustiness of the place, its actually pretty clean! I actually can't believe being a Worcesterite my whole life, (sad I know) I have never even been here! Its slapped between the middle of Southbridge Street and Kelly Sq. Wicked shady at night, but at 10 am on a Sunday, after a long night of drinking no problem. You can walk in here literally in pajamas.. and flip flops. Its just one of those places. I was impressed with the french toast. Nothing special, no texas toast, but just prepared perfectly, not too much egginess and a healthy dose of butter/cinnamon. Mmmmmmmmmm. I didn't get her name but she was amazing. she was really genuinely kind. the atmosphere was chill and welcoming. it was 9;30 on a Saturday not crowded at all. we got our food in 10 minutes. and the server came over and refilled my water which is so important to me because i always run out. she gave me a box for half the muffin i didn't finish, before i even asked it was like she read my mind. she cleared our plates at the right time. it was an overall great experience. i cant wait to go back again. oh my food was perfect. and my eggs were just right! My partner and I went here for breakfast this morning, and it was exactly the greasy spoon diner experience I had in mind. The seats were gold and glittery and patched up with tape and there seem to be a family atmosphere amongst the staff. I ordered two eggs over-medium, toast and home fries, and my partner had the pumpkin pancakes & a side of scrambled eggs (totaling about $20). We were happy with everything we ate, and I was pleasantly surprised that they had jalapeño ketchup which was an awesome touch to my home fries. Service was friendly but despite being full, it didn't seem busy enough for such a long wait for our food. We would definitely come back though! read more

This place is awful. Their prices have risen and their quality has gotten worse with time. Their food used to be good. I went there to give them one more try this morning. I ordered two bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and a burger and fries. I asked for the burger to be well done as it was for my 7 year old son and I also asked to have a scrambled egg on one of the sandwiches. They said no problem. I took my food to go and when I got home I discovers a burger still basically bleeding and fried eggs on both sandwiches. I didn't think it was too much to ask but hey what do I know.
