Awful!! I usually get a regular pedi and a gel mani. This shop just happened to be convenient and on my way home. As he started to polish my toes it seemed to be dried out or almost empty. He added some liquid to thin it out. My toes look horrible....my nails look streaky and I have extra polish on my toes!! My gel mani is nothing like I asked for. I asked him to just barely trim my nails down and keep them square shaped. He made my nails round and when I turn my hand around I can't even see my nails past my fingertips!! To make matters worse, I got my eyebrows waxed, was suppose to be just a clean up. Nope! She made my eyebrows so thin that even my kids noticed! Everything that I asked for...I got the opposite. This place was so rude and so disrespectful towards me I had a gift Card for this place that I got for Mother's Day and there was money on the card and there was something wrong with their machine and it wasn't excepting it and they were yelling and screaming at me telling me it was my fault I was so horrified and so humiliated then they went ahead and took the card from me and they wouldn't give it back and then I had to call the police and the police came and they said you cannot take her card and they gave it back I am telling everybody now if you want to get your nails done pedicure anything do not come here I had the worst experience here and I would never ever ever recommend this place to anybody read more

Update: I have been coming here for quite some time and I took my 17 year old daughter here to get her first set of acrylic nails. Kathy's husband took care of my daughter and because I've never had a problem here I expected her nails to be perfect. To my surprise they were far from perfect and my daughter was treated poorly. First he was short with my daughter and didn't listen to what she was telling him. She asked for round nails and he started making them square. When she said that's not what she wanted he mumbled under his breathe and then said this is round. When he was painting her nails he had her pull her hand out from the light before the time was up causing ripples in her polish. When she pointed that out to him he blamed her and didn't fix it. I'm extremely disappointed that he thought it was okay to treat my daughter with less respect than any other paying adult customer and also gave her less than perfect service. read more

My friend and I booked appointments on the recommendation of another friend who raved about her pedicure. Only then did I read the previous reviews on here and became wary but because we already had the appointment and the location was close we decided to go. We were so glad that we did. We were so delighted with the treatments we received that I joined Yelp so that I could write a review that this place deserves. Here are all the good things we liked about Elite Nails: 1. We booked appointments and they actually took us at the appointed time. So many times I've booked an appointment at a nail salon only to find that it wasn't really an appointment as they took walks-ins first who happened to walk in the door at the same time. While I was having my gel polish manicure the receptionist asked my operator how long a walk-in would have to wait for a polish change. She looked around and then said fifteen minutes. So many times I've heard salons underestimate wait times so as not to lose a walk-in. Here the walk-in was invited to choose her polish and was receiving treatment within ten minutes. 2. The salon was very clean as well as calm and serene. There was no chit chat between the other manicurists and what we did hear was all in English. I don't mind some conversation but when it's extensive and in a language not understood by the patrons sometimes one wonders if they aren't the topic of conversation. 3. All the manicurists were extremely courteous and concerned to ensure that every step of the treatments were to our satisfaction. My friend had a gel polish pedicure and her operator began to apply the polish but then seemed concerned about it. She removed the polish, buffed her nails some more and re-applied the polish. My friend said that it had looked fine to her standards but apparently not to the manicurist. I asked if they had a type of gel polish that changes colour with the temperature. They didn't but asked where I had that done. (At home in Canada.). They sounded quite interested and said if I could get information about the brand name they would be interested to look into it. 4. The equipment appeared to be very clean and sterile. They even used a disposable plastic liner for each pedicure station's tub. In some salons the operators wear smocks which end up with quite a bit of polish on them. Here each of the operators wore their own clothing and I noticed that they were unblemished. 5. The massages that accompanied the manicure and the pedicures were heavenly. Loved the hot stone massage! 6. My friend's gel polish pedicure and my gel polish manicure and regular pedicure were very well done. Nice jobs, indeed. 7. The prices were great! read more

first off I'm a guy.. NO not a gay guy, just a reg. 68 yr old dude. I'm almost always the only guy there. Started with Kathy at old location off Ellsworth. I only use Kathy. Mainly because I have never had a problem. I've gotten a toe fungus from other places, my aunt also from a place near Power and Broadway, where Albertson's is... We went back and complained and they told us NOT TO COME BACK... a young kid I don't think even had a license. Yes, I did report them but there are so many they can't investigate all the complaints.. My wife just got home from getting pedicure and had a terrible experience. She says it took 2 hours because they kept taking more customers and they clearly couldn't handle it. The boy doing it had to have been about 14 years old. He chipped and poked her multiple times, making her bleed. He cleaned it up without using any gloves or sanitary practices. Took over 2 hours for a basic pedicure and fill and the result was less than satisfying because I spend the majority of those 2 hours sitting and waiting for someone to acknowledge me. When I finally got my pedicure after waiting 30 minutes, it was awful. There was no cuticle work and the paint is completely uneven. My fill polish has all sorts of ripples and my nails are not even the same length or shaped the same. WILL NOT BE BACK. read more

I just went into this nail place today only because I had a pedicure yesterday at a nail spot across from me and I ended up not liking the "trendy" blue color I chose. Embarrassed to go back to change my color I decided to go here to elite. Ugh I should have just sucked it up. The guy they stuck me with was awful. I'm fairly certain he did not know any English at all! I mean NONE. The English is something I could care less about however this man also did not seem to know how to paint a nail. I had a yellow color that he applied four coats to. A co-worker of his had to come help him fix all of the errors. It took 45 minutes to get a color change! I can get a pedicure in less than that. I kept telling him I did not want that many coats and he would not even acknowledge he heard me (if he did) another woman working there heard the concern in my voice and came over insisting it was very pretty. I would say I don't think I want 4 coats she would say "pretty." All and all this was not a horrible experience but the fact that anyone there could not paint a nail properly is not acceptable. I'm willing to bet that the man working on me was not a normal nail guy and maybe just family and the salon did not want to use a real nail tech. I ended up coating my toes with chunky glitter to cover up the flaws. read more

WORST nail salon experience ever! It doesn't even deserve 1 star. I went in for a manicure with my sister and we both experienced absolutely terrible customer service. Half way into taking off my nail polish, the lady who was doing my nails started going through her texts and opened up a picture of 2 puppies...she then proceeded to ask the other customers around me which one they liked the best because she was planning on purchasing one. So there I am, sitting with half of my nails unpolished, and if that wasn't enough, she decided to call the owner of the puppies to try to get more information on them. I was completely dumbfounded...I looked over at my sister who had a male working on her nails...he thought it was appropriate to tell racist jokes about blondes and Mexicans, which happened to be the only races of women in the salon. His jokes: "What do you call a smart blonde?...A golden retriever." "Why did the Mexican go to Chinatown to get coffee?...To "capp-a-ccino"" My sister and I were so fed up that we decided to walk out mid manicure. I'm not sure why the reviews are generally so low. My mom and I came here on a Sunday morning for pedicures. We were both very satisfied with the results. I'm not sure how busy they are normally, but we came early in morning so there was only one group ahead of us. They had an appointment made whereas my mom and I just walked in. Nonetheless, they allowed us to soak our feet while the other group finished. After the group was done, the attendants quickly cleaned up, grabbed new, clean materials, and came to my mom and I. Everything appeared sanitary, and I noticed that they clean everything under UV light to kill bacteria. I'm not sure how the stones for the hot stone foot massages are cleaned though, but I imagine they are consistent with all their cleaning procedures. Anyway, my mom and I were both very satisfied with the service and the pedicures we received. Everyone there who worked with us were nice and friendly. !!!!!!!!!! Two of my friends suggested this place so I decided to give it a shot. Stupid idea because I left with uneven sized nails with an incredibly uneven paint job. I understand that you may want to hurry the process up because you are getting busy but that doesn't mean to disregard the customer you are currently with and do a half a** job. Also, they need to work on their customer service. He never asked what shape I would like my nails which pissed me off because I always get rounded edges. Also, when I asked if the nail tech could round out one of my nails he told me he obviously would but just wasn't there yet, in a very smug tone. How was I supposed to know this I had never gotten my nails done by him. Anyways, I will never be going back. Not even if they were to not charge me at all. Went in at 9 am and the guy asked if I could come back later as no one showed up to work yet. I told him 3pm worked and he said ok see you at 3. I went back at 3 and they totally ignored me. I told him I had an3 pm appt and he just walked away. I walked into the shop and he spoke in Vietnamese to the girl doing nails and she didn't even look up. They were very rude and unprofessional. I went to elite nails for the first time the other day with my friend. We both got full sets. My friend showed the lady doing her nails a picture and asked her if she could do the same style. The nail lady said, "yes, I can do anything". The man applying my nails seemed very put out that I wanted a full set. Both the woman(who may have been the manager) and the man were not friendly at all. The woman seemed very smug. After 2 hours of having our nails dug and grinded on in an aggressive manner, we were charged a total of $80 for both. My full set was $45 and my friends was $35 (student discount). My friend had 4 cuts on her cuticles and her hands looked red and tore up. My nails were placed on at an upward angle so the fake nail did not adhere to my real nail allowing water to seep in. Hopefully I will not get fungus. The acrylic powder was placed on very thick in the middle of my nails and then very thin at the tips. They look like pregnant nails. I don't recommend this place to anyone. Its high priced for extremely low quality. read more

I have been going to the salon for a few months and it seemed ok until my last visit on 5/24/14. I liked that they used a sanitized (I thought) packet of tools for each customer. IT IS NOT SANITIZED only washed with a brush & placed in a new envelope. I received my pedicure and had my nails wrapped to remove the old gel polish. My nail tech (whom I had an appointment) went to complete a gel manicure on another client that did not have an appointment but must have been a regular. When she returned to me 45 minutes later my fingertips were swollen and my nails had curled from the acetone polish remover. Granted, she did apologize as she buffed off the polish (the acetone had dried and was useless in removing the polish). I picked out a color (from the pallet of polished samples) and as usual they did not have the color I wanted. I was in the salon for 2 1/2 hours and walked out with an ugly color on my nails (with bumps from using old polish). The only good thing I have to say is the receptionist is a wonderful young lady and should find a salon that is worth her customer skills. I will never ever return! read more
