I thought this place was great and it felt like a true Hong Kong dim sum experience. It was crowded, the place was huge and it had so many different choices. It's a very local spot and the service is not the focal point, you go just for the food. The place was super busy, even on a Wednesday, the place is little English so pointing might be the best bet.
The food:
Pie Qwat- The spare ribs were excellent and taro was cooked perfectly. The pork was basically melt in your mouth tender, this was the best version I ever had.
Young Coconut Custard- This is a must order, it's basically a steamed young coconut with a egg custard type filling on the inside. It's subtly sweet, so light and delicate, it kinda reminds me of Japanese chawanmushi. Beware, even though it looks small there is so much of it and should be shared with 1 or two other people. Also, ask for a spoon and dig at the coconut meat that lines the side of the coconut, so good.
Pan Fried Turnip Cake- This was excellent, it's not the typical thing non Asians order but the version here was great and should be tried.
Churn Fun- Typically a fav but I thought the dough was too thick and overall, not that flavorful. I tried both the beef and shrimp and both were just OK.
Hargow- It was made well and I really liked the shrimp a lot but the wrapper was way too thick.
Beef Ball- I liked this, it had good flavor and I liked the crunch of the water chestnut. It was a good version. read more
