If you want a place with daring, creative treatment of Chinese cuisine, look no further than this bustling little chain. On weekends and even Monday evenings, there's a line out the door. When they get busy, they restrict your fine time to 90 minutes. On this or most recent visit, we were a large table of 12, which allowed us to have good variety. Standing out were the black and white buns (savoury mushrooms inside) and a black and gold dessert bun, the flaming pineapple with a hot mix of chicken goodness inside, the chicken in rice wine, and the lotus rice. Missing the mark was the fish, where the dominating juniper berries overwhelmed the sweet taste of a delicate fish. The other refreshing thing about them is the roasted barley tea they serve ($9 HKD, or about 1.15) - not my go-to choice personally, but a nice change of pace, especially for the caffeine-averse crowd.

More like 4.5 stars but I will round up! Ambience-super cool vibe here. It's modern yet old school and hip. I loved the marbles tables and the lights from the ceiling Service-I don't remember much but I know they were decently attentive Food: -drunken chicken appetizer- I normally don't like drunken chicken but this was actually very flavorful without that alcoholic taste -steamed dimsum sampler (not sure what it's called) also pretty good. Cute to take photos of ! -pigeon-I also normally don't eat pigeon but this was surprisingly good and juicy and tender ! I almost forgot what I was eating haha -steamed taro bun-comes with a cute piggy character ! I love taro so the bun was pretty good -lotus leaf rice-WOW I thought this was amazing!!! Super flavorful and moist! 5/5 would order again -flaming pineapple with beef-the concept was super cool since they fill the inside of the pineapple with the beef and pineapple chunks then they close it and light it on fire: makes for an awesome IG or Snapchat snap! However the contents inside were forgettable for me. Overall a pretty good place ! I enjoyed most of the food I ate thus 4.5 stars ! Come early though as their might be a wait !

This is a very popular restaurant for delicious dim sum and other delicacies. If you're planning to go on a holiday or weekends, I suggest you make a reservation or get a ticket by the booth machine right away as line ups can get long. It was our first time going and we didn't know what to expect. At first, there were no lineups and in less than a couple of minutes, there were lineups right away. Without any reservations, we had to get a ticket and waited for at least 40 minutes for a spot of 2 to open (maybe 3+ tables are faster). Not sure why there aren't as many tables or 2 inside. Their most popular dishes are mainly their dim sum and their pegions but there are a lot of other choices to order from as well. Just a fair warning, if youre planning to order the Flamin-Pie, it will take at least an hr to arrive, which I don't really understand why it takes so long. Dishes we ordered: - Flamin-Pie: Is nicely presented with fire surrounding it in the beginning and inside consists of beef curry. The curry was flavorful as I liked how it was mixed with a hint of pineapple; essentially spicy and sweet together. Overall it was a good dish, but honestly not worth waiting for an hour. - Sweet Taro Piggy Bun (1 pc): A very cute piggy guy bun that is stuffed with tarp inside. A taro lover will Definitely love this bun. - Charcoal Custard Buns (3 pcs): I was astonished by the look whe it first came. Inside was stuffed with custard filling which wasn't too sweet and plentiful on the inside. - Crispy Wonton (3 pcs): These wontons consists of shrimp and cheese inside that comes in a cute basket. Overall, one of my favorite dishes as I liked how the skin was perfectly crispy, not too oily and the shrimp/cheese combination filling inside. If you come on a busy time, expect to be "rushed out" to leave as servers want to make way for the people waiting outside (especially since there aren't many tables of 2 inside). Other than that, this restaurant has food that is nice for pictures, but probably will only come back once in a while.

Getting to try it in Hong Kong, the home of Dimsum, I thought this was going to be a 10/10. Yeah, not quite. The wrapping of each dishes were thicker than most places, so that was already offputting. That plus the taste of the fillings inside the xiao long baos, it's like you eat one and you already feel fed up and over it. And then there was no Har Gow in the menu, one of the most essential in a dimsum restaurant... Price was also much more expensive than your typical dimsum places in Hong Kong, and then some outrageous charges like $12 for tea per person, when it's literally one teapot at a table... and adding an additional 10% if you want to take the dishes to go if you don't finish... Yeah, this is a hard no. The only reason why I'm even giving it a two star rating is because customer service was spectacular and the tea was pretty tasty.

No reservations taken but no waiting for us. We were seated immediately. A menu was provided that described about fifty choices in Chinese and English. I lack a taste for the exotic so the six items we selected had vegetables, chicken, beef, pork, or shrimp. We are less adventurous than some and, without guidance, stuck to ingredients of some familiarity. Rather than bringing all at once, there was a measured pace for delivery to our table. As dim sum lovers, we dug in. The experience of robust flavors and the environment combined to give us a genuine Hong Kong experience. Our total bill was less than $100US.

Sportful Garden (what kind of a name is that?) does a pretty good job, creating new dishes as well as refreshing the staples, like the super long spring rolls. If you can hang on for a little bit and come in after two, you get the happy hour price which is 40% off many dishes plus some staple dim sum dishes for HK$14-18 (like, US$2). Early birds before noon gets a discount too. They also have roasted pigeon for $33 (US$4) each, and even provide gloves for you to enjoy with your hands. While I very much want to order the super-instagram-worthy birdcage dim sum set (I've taken a pic of the menu if not the real thing), my sensible mom insisted that we order from the discounted menu. I managed to get the piggies though (with purple yam filling). I simply have a weakness for ordering things so cute I suffer a pang of guilt eating them. My favorite is the sponge cake, so light yet creamy, but all dishes, including the noodles, are delicious.

Cannot recommend this place more highly! Possibly the best dim sum i've ever had in HK and…read morewell...anywhere. Situated at the very top of the isquare mall in TST, it's a convenient location both for Kowloon and HK siders. The restaurant itself is a beautifully bright space with amazing panoramic views. It's quite modern/upscale and would be a good place to go for work lunches etc but you won't get any nasty looks rocking up in shorts/tshirts etc... (i went there in gym gear). The food...wow. I thought after 30+ years of eating chinese food i'd pretty much seen every iteration of a spring roll. I was mistaken. Granted it's hard to make the case for a spring roll to be the standout dish at yum cha but i've never seen them done like this (pictures attached). Each one is about 20cm long and stuffed with juicy fresh shrimp. I have it on good authority that they are also a massive crowd pleaser for kids too. Other than that, every dish was equally superb and fresh. All the usual suspects (har gao, siu mai, lo bak gou, char siu sou) were top notch; fresh, juicy, thin skins. The lo mai gai was another standout - not the usual stodgy, dense, overly sticky lump; rather it was surprisingly light and the meat didn't taste at all congealed, with just enough glutinous-ness to make the rice sit neatly. And the crispy pork cubes...oh the crispy pork cubes. I'd been craving these for over a year since the only offerings to be found in NY are better described as lumps of soggy fat with a micro film of crispy skin and occasionally a bit of pork. All in all an amazing feed. Adding it to the list of regular places to hit in HK.

The atmosphere is business casual and somewhat more upscale than local eateries since it's located inside one of the ubiquitous shopping mall buildings found on every corner in HK's touristy Kowloon TST area. My tummy was greedy and it grumbled for food and my mouth was drooling in anticipation. I was eager and could wait! Unfortunately once the food started coming, meh, my expectation didn't meet the reality. I wish I could describe a dish I really enjoyed, but I don't really have anything noteworthy highlight to mention. We did finish everything we ordered, so nothing was horrible either. We came during a prime lunch time and it was easy to find a seat. They also cook the food at the time of the order instead of the traditional dim sum restaurants with the pushing carts. I did like the idea that the food was made to order, and I could see the kitchen from where I was sitting.

They gave us a booklet along with the paper to fill out, and most of the dim sum was the classic dim sum that I'm accustomed to. Their chiu chou fun gor was alright for me. They did put a good amount of peanuts in here but the exterior was a bit heavier on the dough side. Their siu mai and har gow were pretty good. Their cheung fun wasn't the silky light type, so I was just alright with it. Their Chicken with Sticky Rice wraped in Lotus Leaf was huge though, way bigger than those in Los Angeles. Their fresh mango custard roll was my highlight though, as they had chunks of mango in the middle and it was sweet. Would try this again. I think the one other aspect of this place is the interior is really clean, and they have a decent amount of tables inside. Service is a bit more attentive as the area isn't as large.
