My friend invited us to dinner here. They had invited us to 唐閣 before which is a sister restaurant. The ambiance is nice and elegant, and is beautifully decorated. Service was very attentive and professional. We had quite a few dishes, some of which I forgot the name: Eight Little Dishes of Appetizers, BBQ Pork, Fried Chicken, Oysters, Fish Claypot, etc. Food was excellent, delicious and nicely presented. The 八小碟 Eight Little Dishes of Appetizers were my favorites.

The food was very authentic with a exquisite look to it. The portion was really filling as I had the Michelin dinner set The crab meat was stuff , abalone was juicy & huge , lobster noodle soup was tasty wasmy favorite 4.5 stars as the pace of the food was not consistent compare to other Michelin restaurants

Ming Court is one of my top 3 places in Hong Kong for dim sum. This recent trip was my first in 3 years and it doesn't seem like they have fallen off at all. Food quality is just as high as I remember it to be. FOOD My favorite item is the stuffed crab shell. My biggest disappointment is that they no longer serve their beef tongue dish. It was so tender and flavorful. SERVICE Good. RESERVATIONS You can make reservations on their website. Super easy.

(Prices mentioned in this review are in HKD, divided by 7.75 would convert to USD) We recently spent 15 nights at the Cordis Hotel in Mongkok, Kowloon, Hong Kong for our 18-night vacation, we didn't miss the chances to dine in at their prestigious Michelin-starred restaurant, Ming Court, located on the hotel's 6th floor. As a matter of fact, during this trip, we treated different members of our extended family to 3 dim sum lunches and 1 dinner. It was very convenient and an impressive choice. It appeared that all of our guests and us were happy with our choices! We had dim sum at Ming Court once in the end of 2018 when we stayed at Cordis briefly. Since then, I knew that we would be back. The restaurant is elegant and up-scale, with tasteful décor throughout the many sections of the venue. It provided a tranquility in the middle of the bustling and highly-populated Mongkok, it's truly amazing! All the dim sum were made with care and there had a higher level of refinement to them. I usually do not like any fat with the meats that I eat, but their tender and perfectly roast half-fat and half-lean honey-glazed cha Shiu definitely broke my habit, and I understand why it's one of their signature dishes! An order of cha shiu was priced at HK$338 at lunch. Another dim sum Soup-filled Dumpling, although at HK$168 a single serving (one big dumpling) was a bit pricey, was really delicious and worth the money too. All the servers at our dim sum experiences were friendly and attentive. We would like to give a special shout-out to Joe! He happily served us for the first 2 lunches, and recognized us immediately the second time. Joe was very friendly and attentive, and gave us helpful advice and recommendations. He also advised us to space out our orders so as to get dim sum hot continuously. As all the large tables were booked when we made our dinner reservation, only a private room was available for our party of 8. There was a minimum charge of HK$10,000 for the private room, however, it was reduced to HK$8,000 for hotel guests who stay at the Cordis. However, you don't really need to worry about the minimum, as it is very easy to go over. We ordered the 8-course Michelin Degustation Menu for each person, which was HK$1,288 per person plus a 10% service charge. Hubby also ordered a bottle of white wine for whoever that wanted to share. I myself enjoyed tea with my Cantonese cuisine. Please refer to the dinner menu in my photos. This dinner was a delight with very enticing foods and beautiful presentation. Most of us like the Stuffed Crab Shell with fresh crab meat the best, it was lightly breaded and deep fried, truly a memorable dish! The Deep-fried Local Lobster with cheese had an artsy presentation, appealing to the eyes, and full of flavors for the mouth! The Simmered Leopard Coral Garoupa Fillet was very tasty and would melt in your mouth! The Wagyu Beef fillet and Pan-seared Local Beef fillet created a contrasting presentation of west vs. east, and both were so tasty and tender! The Eight Treasure Soup was made in the style of Snake Soup and was delicious and filling. The suckling pig skins were all very good and very crunchy in all the Hong Kong restaurants that we have been to, including this one! There were big pieces of mango in the dessert soup, unfortunately, it was still too early of the season for mangos to ripen in the area, so I could not smell or taste the aroma that I always associate with Hong Kong mangos! The dessert was still nice and refreshing though! Portions were very generous, so by the time noodles came, I only had room to have a couple of bites. Our friendly server, Amy, happily boxed them for me and a couple other guests. Unfortunately, mine remained in the fridge of our hotel room and I never had a chance to finish them, as we were leaving for a side trip in Shenzhen! This dinner was well worth the money! We will return in the future to indulge in the luxurious dining experience again! If you stay at the Cordis, you get 15% off your bills on meals at Ming Court and other restaurants in the hotel, that is really a good deal. We would have patronized them regardless, though. Amy also showed me that every chair in Ming Court has a built-in wooden tray under the chair that can be slid out to hold handbags or anything! How clever and thoughtful was that! This simple device came in handy in the following times that we went to have dim sum, and I happily showed our other guests! We had learnt that there is complimentary wine tasting for hotel guests of Cordis every day from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. That guests could make appointments for a 20-minute session at the Ming Cellar that carries 300 fine wine labels from over 100 regions. We were so busy that we had missed out on this great opportunity. Well, there is always next time! And we know that we will be back!

I highly recommend this Michelin 1 Star restaurant. It is located on the 6/F inside the Cordis Hotel. First, the food was unquestionably delicious and the service was good when you considered there were not many people willing to work in the service industry after Covid. We ordered the famous Roasted BBQ pork (Char Siu) with Jellyfish. This succulent pork was full of fragrance. The savory and sweet sauce with a hint of spice made this dish irresistible. No wonder it's one of their signature dishes. The chilled jellyfish was surprisingly crunchy with a slightly chewy texture. It was tossed with Chinese celery and water chestnut and it really delivered a refreshing flavor. Each bite filled with a pleasant touch of nutty sesame seed flavor. Another mouth-watering appetizer was Cube Cod Filet, Shanxi Aged Vinegar. It was coated with a thick mixture of sweet and sour sauce. It was crispy outside and flaky inside. It was truly a delightful dish. The Salt Soy Chicken was tender with a deep savory flavor. This classic Cantonese dish had a slight hint of sweetness was a perfect choice to go with a bowl of rice. Their winter special soup-Almond juice with Pig Lung was silky smooth. It had a rich but not overpowering taste of almond. It really warmed my soul. Another dish I am highly recommend is their Fried Rice Sizzler, A5 Wagyu Beef, Foie Gras in a Clay Pot. It was so addictive. Each spoonful was packed with buttery and rich meaty flavor. The chef was generous with all the delicate ingredients. Since it was cooked in a sizzling hot clay pot, the bottom layer of rice was so crispy and slightly chewy. Since it is a Chinese restaurant in a 5 stars hotel, it has an elegant ambiance. It has soft lighting with comfortable seating with plenty of room between tables. Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back again.

I usually stay in this hotel and hence eat here once or twice a year. This is the second time I found hair in one of the dumplings. This is a MICHELIN -starred restaurant! Just got a "sorry" , kind of ruin the whole experience... especially that it was the first dish served. Btw , been staying at cordis since 2010, I didn't find out until this stay that guests get a 15 % f&b discount at restaurants and bars.

Ming Court, a Michelin-starred restaurant, is one of the best in Hong Kong. It is located inside the Cordis Hotel in Mongkok, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Last time we went to Hong Kong we stayed at the Cordis, so, we had the convenience of making a reservation at the Ming Court to have Dim Sum through the concierge of the hotel. The restaurant was upscale and elegant, clean and comfortable! Ambiance was perfect! As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with friendly and respectful staff, and got seated immediately at a nice roomy table. Service was impeccable as expected. We had high expectations, and it did not disappoint! All the usually ordinary Dim Sum were made with such care. They were carefully crafted using the freshest and high-quality ingredients! My wife and I were most impressed with the Spring Roll (Egg Roll), the skin was very crispy, the inside ingredients were so tasty and fresh, and it was amazing that there was no greasy feeling with a deep-fried food! Char-Siu Rice Crepe had a thin translucent skin, and the Char-Siu inside was very good! Other Dim Sum like Shrimp Dumpling and Siu Mai were also perfectly done. Bao was soft and fluffy. The almond dessert that my wife picked was very delightful as well! Everything was just exquisitely crafted! And I like that the teapots sat on a warmer to keep the tea warm! We had an amazing time enjoying Dim Sum at the Ming Court, and will definitely go back to try more different Dim Sum next time we go to Hong Kong!

Chinese fried donut extra large! Very delicious!

I wanted to try high quality dim sum in HK and found Ming court. It's one of the many 1 star Michelin restaurants in HK. The abalone egg tart was delicious with a butter tart to compliment the abalone. Looking back, my favorite was probably the Chinese fried donut. Soft yet chewy with a wonderful sesame taste. So large giving that wow factor and enough to satisfy my craving. The chicken and frog pot was decent but not the best I've had. The scallop dumplings were good but not mind blowing. Everything else was consider good quality dim sum. I was most disappointed by the eight treasure soup! It was 200+ hkd per person but the favor was lacking. I definitely recommended saving your money and order something else! Overall a good meal!

Ming Court, located in the Cordis Hotel, was amazing! If you go to Hong Kong and can make it to this Michelin Star restaurant, please do. The food was delicious! They had so many varieties of foods - appetizers, main courses and desserts - some dishes that I'd never imagine eating! The atmosphere of the restaurant was superb! Although it had a high end feel, the dress code was not formal. We had initially finished a wine tasting across the hall and the sommelier urged us to eat at the restaurant, since it was very good. Glad we did! Staff was super helpful and accommodating when taking your order and providing suggestions. The restaurant is located in the Cordis Hotel, so if you are a hotel guest, it is super convenient to get to. If not staying in the hotel, simply take an Uber or taxi to get there.

Wow. just wow. First off, their food items might sound like things you can get at any restaurant in China Town for a couple dollars but let me tell you, being Asian and eating all the generic items all my life, I was blown away! I didn't know there's a better version of your generic Chinese cuisines. First off my boyfriend wanted to order bbq pork and all these other items I eat regularly at home. I quickly veto. I'm glad we went with the course menu and had the privilege of sampling the most amazing bbq pork of my life. What perfect sliced pieces of the right amount of fat that melts in your mouth and meat seasoned so perfectly, cooked with a nice slight crunch. The crispy pork had the most crispy skin ever and I love it. It's 10x better than the best crispy pork I've had. The dimsum, I see why this place got 2 michelin stars compared to tim ho wan. Even though it's not specialized in dimsum I liked Ming Court's dimsum over Tim Ho Wan. However these pieces are three times as expensive. Some has truffle and foie gras in it! I loved every bite of every kind. The soup was on point, the dessert was refreshing. I can't go into exact details to describe the silky-ness of the dessert. You just have to try them all. I recommend the course menu for sure. We got a wagyu beef with foie gras in addition to the set course meal and it was plentiful. I wish we had a larger group to do a family style meal. Wagyu beef really melts in your mouth. I would say wagyu beef isn't far from Kobe beef, its one of those bites that you need to close your eyes and internalize. Beautiful environment, great service.

Ming Court offers a fine dining experience highlighted by phenomenal flavors, artistic presentation, and impressive creativity. As to be expected from a 2 Michelin Star awarded restaurant. The Chinese antique decor was elegant. The service was very professional and accommodating. Australian Wagyu Beef, Foie Gras, Thai Basil, and Cashews This was one of Ming Court's award winning dishes and I could immediately taste the reason why it was recognized. At first appearance, you might not be able to tell the difference between this dish and an ordinary beef, basil, and cashew Chinese stir fried dish. However, the wagyu beef was cooked to perfection and just melts in your mouth. The foie gras complemented the wagyu very well. The cashews offer a nice contrasting crunch compared to the tenderness of the wagyu beef and foie gras. The sauce was very bold and flavorful. Sun and Moon Lunch Set The staff was very accommodating as we mix and matched items from both the sun lunch set and the moon lunch set. I think the weekend lunch sets offers great value to sample many items on Ming Courts menu. Eight Treasure Soup - Abalone, fish maw, chicken, shiitake mushroom, bamboo, black fungus, dried tangerine peel, ginger. The complexity and depth of flavor of the eight treasure soup was truly impressive. Every sip was a symphony of different flavors which harmonized wonderfully. Deluxe Dim Sum Trio Crab Meat Dumpling with egg white and black truffle - simply delicious, one of the best dumplings I have ever had. The crab meat was bursting with flavor and worked perfectly with the black truffle. I loved the slightly sticky texture of the translucent dumpling skin. Pork dumpling with shrimp and crab roe - this dumpling was probably the most basic of the three; basically a pork and shrimp shumai but executed to perfection. I would put this dumpling on par with the shumai at Tim Ho Wan (also Michelin Starred but much cheaper). Deep fried taro dumpling, foie gras pate - I loved this dumpling. The light flaky, crispy exterior contrasts wonderfully with the mushy taro center. Fried Cod Fillet, Shanxi aged vinegar, greens I really loved the cod fillet. It was cooked in a way that reminded me of Japanese eel. The cod meat was juicy and tender and the skin was lightly crispy. Rice Quintet, Morel mushroom, Enoki mushroom, Reishi mushroom, ginkgo, carrot This dish was very healthy and earthy tasting with all the different mushrooms. Mango, Pomelo, Coconut, Sago Cream I loved how this dessert was very Asian in flavor. The dish was the perfect blend of sweet, creamy, and citrus. I loved how he little pomelo "pearls" offered little bursts of citrus tart.

Excellent dim sum!! Probably the most sophisticated dim sum I had in my life. However, I'm not sure if the restaurant really deserves Michelin 2 star rating.... I would just give it 1 star. I loved the presentation and the flavor of everything I've tried but I didn't find it memorable enough because there are plenty of good dim sum places in HK that are way cheaper. The ambiance is very posh and stuffy, which explains why this place gets Michelin 2stars. I probably won't come back here with my own dime because it's very pricey but I would love to eat here again.

Great ambiance and food. It's reasonably priced (dinner for 5 at $100pp for ~10 dishes) for the flavor and technique executed. I'm not in love with Cantonese cuisine however, I enjoyed the food here so much we came back again during our 2.5wk stay. What's the big deal about this place? I'd say it's technique and details. It's difficult to get people excited about tofu but it's what I came back for. Crispy on the outside and silky smooth on the inside. An entire dish of pomelo skin? Killed it. Veggies and crab? The veggies were strained to absolute perfection. Satay sauce on point as well. It's the details. Plus, the fine dining experience is fun. Pro tips: If you're a hotel guest and they decline you over the phone, just try again in person. Additionally, if you ask twice, they might be able to squeeze you in... We got a 60min timeslot for the 2nd dinner. But, they couldn't deliver the food quickly enough (8 person party). In the end, we stayed 90mins, canceled our last dish, and they gave us a 15% discount for the inconveniences.

    Seven spice tofu.

Fuk Loi Kui? F that. It's not what you think it is…read more It's the Cantonese pronounciation of the restaurant 福來居, but to make it more confusing it has another name embedded in as 福來居(牛記)海鮮飯店 (Ngau Kee) Seafood Restaurant. There's something about this place that gives me a "je ne sais quoi" kind of vibe. And that is, there is some intangible quantity and quality, that really makes this place totally awesome, provided you have the right minded set of dining companions with you, who share a love of great no nonsense local food. If you want killer stir fry in the hood kind of eats, with a decent seafood selection that is not entirely off the wall expensive, yet full of local flavor, FLK is a very sound choice. It is within very easy walking distance from Prince Edward MTR station, and is very near the roasties shop famous for roast crispy skin pig (still using charcoal) 永合隆飯店 Wing Hap Lung Restaurant. Started off with a bottle of ice cold Tsing Tao. I forgot how large the bottles in Hong Kong are. The Tsing Tao's in the states at Chinese restaurants are generally dwarf size bottles in comparison. So if you have 4 or more in your party, one bottle is good to start. They chill the glasses, a little extra attention to detail to make your "Cantonese izakaya" experience better. Too many good things on the menu, FLK has this dai pai dong esque vibe, and while it is indoors, the atmosphere and food is close enough that you can have an awesome time in here. 豉油王煎中蝦 - soy sauce supreme (Maggi) pan fried medium prawns. Incredible umami and flavor, but where are the heads?? Even the shells can be eaten! 薑蔥桶蠔 - ginger scallion stir fried oysters. A touch oily, but these are to be expected. Really awesome otherwise! Oysters are either from Canada or United States. 清蒸瓜子斑 - steamed melonseed grouper (wild fish). We arrived close to 8 pm, and by then the seafood selection from the styrofoam tanks were dwindling. At most maybe 3 to 4 kinds of live fish, and this melonseed grouper 瓜子斑 is certainly not a cheap specimen....but cheaper than having a kinki shioyaki at a local Japanese eatery! An extremely solid choice, well executed. The flesh came off the bones with ease. This is why when you travel to HK, eating fresh seafood is a must. It's a far cry from the farmed American fish at Cantonese restaurants in the USA. 上湯蒜子大豆苗 - large pea sprout with garlic in superior broth. Really hard to go wrong with this prep. Stir frying uses more oil, so this approach is healthier. 豉油王炒麵 - soy sauce supreme stir fried noodles. Haha back to stir frying because we want to equalize the guilt! When having seafood like this, ending the meal with a killer plate of carbs is a must, and soy sauce supreme noodles 豉油王炒麵 is a solid choice. It is also perhaps the de facto method of testing wok hay (the other tester dish is beef chow fun, but we're at a seafood restaurant). This rendition is very solid and intense. It's a touch on the dry side which is what I prefer. Oh, I believe they stock Yu Kwen Yick chili sauce, so you can ask for a little bit to make the noodle experience jump a few notches. Fruit platter for dessert (included in the meal), which was an extremely nice touch. Watermelon, pineapple, and papaya. Refreshing even on a mildly chilly January evening. Great food that soothes and satisfies. Even recommended by local celebrity Chef Leung of Hoi King Heen on his FB page!
