I got a pastrami sandwich here and an order of onion rings. I waited in a super long line because I thought it would be worth it but NO. The pastrami sandwich was soggy as they overstuffed it with mustard and dripping pickles and the onion rings were in an especially small bag even though they were not cheap. The pastrami meat was literally the cheapest meat money can buy and I don't know how they bread their onion rings because after I had gas and some unpleasant restroom visits afterward. I remember the first time I had heard of Zorba's. It was while I was working on campus at UCR and two of my bosses were going on and on about it, so I asked them what they were talking about. When they told me about Zorba's and I said I had never been, they looked at me like I had 3 heads. It was then I was determined that I was going to try out Zorba's! I don't think I made it there until over a year later, after I had graduated and had my last day at my student job on campus. Boy I can tell you that I was really missing out the whole time I was at UCR and never went here. I was on a pastrami burger kick at the time of my first visit, and I can not say enough about how delicious their pastrami burger is. I got the fries extra crispy and some extra sauces to dip in and I was in heaven! I've been back plenty of times since, and I usually get the pastrami burger when I go. My wife is a big fan of the place too and usually gets the corn dog and other smaller items which is tasty too. Overall if you are looking for a fast casual burger/dinner joint to pig out at, go no further than Zorba's! Also, FYI- I believe they opened up a second location on University Ave. If you can, I'd avoid that location and go straight to their Iowa Ave spot- it's so much nicer at this location. read more

Worse place ever!! My co workers and I came to this place for lunch because of its good ratings. Worse mistake ever. Myself, 4 other co-workers and a couple that was seating next to us, all got hair in our food. When this was brought up to management, he did not want to refund our money but give us new food. If it was just me that got hair on my food, I would have accepted new food. But when it was 6 people in less than a hour with hair on their food, that's a health problem now. First time here. They should have a vegetarian menu. I just order a bean burrito and when I open the package it fell apart. I had to drink my burrito. And I asked if I could add fries inside my burrito and they told me no. Go ahead and charge me extra. How hard is it to add fries inside a burrito. Then she said I can order a side of fries and add it to my burrito on myown.And the size of the burrito was small, I felt I paid to much for that size of a burrito. Very humble and delicious food. A few friends and I were looking for some relatively cheap and "bang for your buck" food when we came across Zorba's. We always heard about it but never thought to go in. I am glad we made the decision to come in. The #6 combo is the way to go. Burger is delicious and pretty big. Pastrami is not too salty but has all the flavor components of a good pastrami. Fries are perfectly fried. Crispy outside, super soft inside. For some reason the ketchup tastes better. I placed a carry out order for my co workers and myself and the person taking the order was clueless, then I arrive and the owner helps me and has no idea what my order was and starts raising his voice at me and being so rude, like it was my fault the order was not taken correctly. To the rude lady who worked on Friday night 1/8/21 around 7:50pm.... I hope you lose your job. All websites and social media say it closes at 9pm. We pull up to the restaurant at 7:50pm, as we pull you up to drive thru menu, this lady turns off all the lights. She then opens the door and ask of if we have a phone order. We say no and she says oh sorry and shuts the door as my wife was trying to ask her why they are closing early. So my wife call the restaurant and the same lady answers the phone. My wife asks her why they are closing early and she says their new hours are posted on the door but not online yet. We were still there 10 minutes before these "new" hours. You would think they would update their hours that are posted online since no one is actually going to the door to dine in during COVID-19. My wife tells them they should update their hours and the lady just hangs up on her. We drove 20 minutes to eat her only to be treated like trash. Love this place, we go weekly. Food is great, but in these Covid times they seem to have changed their hours without notice. I checked two places for their hours before heading over, including Yelp, but arrived Monday at 7:15 to find them closed, no hours posted, no reason posted. They are supposed to be open until 9 on Monday. This has happened twice. I used to come here all the time for about 18 years. But after today I probably won't be back. It's gone downhill and the prices have gone up. The drive-thru menu is outdated and missing prices. Apparently the burger I ordered was almost $9! When I got to the window I told the girl I did not order the combo, just the burger. She said Yes, that's the price for just the burger. It's an adventure driving to this local burger joint - "How many railraod tracks am I going to drive through?" and "WHOA WAS THAT A GIGANTIC DIXIE CUP!?" But you finally get your Zorba's Burger and you realize why you even went on the trek in the first place. I've only had the Zorba's Burger here, and quite frankley it's the only burger I will get here because it's LEGIT. The burger meat is nicely seasoned and juicy, the pastrami adds an extra little SUMTHIN SUMTHIN to it, and there's bacon (no need to explain why that is a good thing). Also worth discussing - their holy soda machine. This soda machine doesn't even fit in with everything else in the restaurant. The technology of it is advanced way even ahead of our time - I didn't think something like this was possible until the year 2047. It LOOKS like a time traveling device from Back to the Future. Despite all the questions and confusion and wonderment of the outer space alien soda machine, I'm VERY happy to get STRAWBERRY SPRITE out of it and with my meal. STRAWBERRY SPRITE. After being referred to this place countless times, I finally took the long trek down Iowa to Zorbas. At first glance I was excited to try the food. Like anyone I assume the worse off the area, the better the food and like most other places in Riverside, this place was nothing short of "ghetto". Upon entering, you can't help but notice the futuristic looking refrigerator in the corner which is the reason why I gave this place 4 stars. The burgers are not bad at all but nowhere near deserving of the praise it receives. The Zorba burger, which was just a pastrami cheese burger, tasted identical to plenty of others I have had and If I had the choice I'd much rather just go to The Hat in Brea or Bravo Burger in Chino Hills. Best burger place in Riverside! Owned by a Korean couple, they know how to do their burgers right! I love the California burger and I love their zucchini fries! The burgers here are always tasty with the perfect amount of savory in each bite! Their burgers are big and very generously portioned. It's worth a trip to the Inland Empire just for this burger! This will be last time that I go to this restaurant. As I waited for my meal during lunch time, a customer was discussing to the Asian female (owner) she had charged him the price of a full meal when he only ordered a burger and a drink, he told her that for that price he should be getting fries. As he kept explaining to the owner the problem she seemed to have gotten irate and extremely rude. She was down talking to the customer, he was ready to return the meal and just get a refund for all the meals that he paid for. As all the customers had the OMG look at what seemed to become a problem. Everyone just nodded their heads with disbelieve. One of the cashiers helped the customer to correct his meal. As I continue to wait for my meal, another customer complained that his orders had gotten mixed up and the Owner in front of other customers (probably about 6 people) had the nerve to call the customer "IDIOT" while this customer was walking away. I thought to myself OMG, the owner has NO BUSINESS dealing with customers, insulting customers is extremely RUDE. ( I don't know how she can run a business) Especially having no customer Etiquette. The Prices are very high for a meal I paid almost $7.00 for a cheeseburger combo to include a small drink, the meals are greasy and to top it off- the fries were undercooked so when I went to complain about the fries she took them back and mixed them up with the other fries that were being served to other customers. I just looked at her and told her that she shouldn't put the fries I just returned to her, you have to throw them out because once they leave the kitchen and a customer complains about them they need to be tossed because I could have coughed on and made others sick. I feel bad for the employees because they seem to be on a very tight leash. The rest of the employees are polite and for the most part are helpful.
