Star Burger is located in a mixed use office complex just south of the Riverside Airport. When you enter the location don't expect a lot going on. It's not a typical sit down where you would take a friend or have a meeting. They cater from what I could see is local employees of various companies that are looking for a quick tasty lunch. The menu is mixed with American, Hispanic, and Asian foods. So you have plenty to choose from. I ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger and it was..... Good. I got nothing great to say about it but it wasn't bad. I'd have given the location 5 stars but the interior could use some TLC. Eh but that's just me. Give them a try. Came here on a whim and I was not disappointed. It's your typical So Cal mom and pop burger "hole in the wall" reminiscent of places like Louis Burgers or Tams in L.A. and those joints of the like. They serve burgers, breakfast, tacos, teriyaki..wait what? That's right, teriyaki bowls at a burger joint! Upon entering, you notice it's not your cliche so cal ghetto burger joint when you see that in addition to your greasy iconic So Cal American foods, they also have teriyaki, hence when ordering, I decided to order the Teriyaki burger combo. On to the food, upon receiving my teriyaki burger, I quickly realized it was not your typical Teriyaki Burger with the hamburger patty, pineapple slice and some super thick gloppy American teriyaki glaze slapped on to the whole thing. Instead of that, it was actual thin sliced cuts of beef teriyaki along with the rest of the mumbo jumbo that goes on a burger. I was a little apprehensive when I first saw it thinking I wasn't gonna like it because I expected the "teriyaki burger" but much to my dismay, it was really good in its own way. I also enjoyed the fries that came with the combo, thick ass long af' crispy hot pommes frites, and lots of them! Now on to the service and ambiance, I mean the cashier was friendly, but that was all the interaction I had any of the employees since this is not that kind of restaurant. Here you just order at the counter, wait for your order to be called, you pick it up at the counter and you go eat it at your table. You also serve your own drinks since they have a selfe-serve soda fountain. Although this place still looks straight out of the 80's both inside and outside (it's at a strip mall that has probably never been remodeled in more than 30 years) it's very clean and well kept. Nope.... Gave my daughter diarrhea and she was throwing up for several hours! She had a bowl of menudo. I had an egg and sausage plate. The hash browns were mash potatoes and my sausage and egg both had a few sesame seeds on them. That tells me they do not clean their cooking area very well or they are very sloppy. read more
