Do not work here. Do not eat here. Seriously. Joyce Burger in Jurupa Valley is one of the most poorly run and unprofessional places I've ever come across. This place appears to be intentionally understaffed, with only 2-3 employees expected to run the entire restaurant at once--handling cashiering, drive-thru, cooking, cleaning, and trash all at the same time. It's chaotic, overwhelming, and completely unsustainable. The treatment of employees is even worse. Workers are expected to stay and continue working 30+ minutes AFTER clocking out. That is not just unethical--it appears to be a clear violation of labor laws. On top of that, schedules are not even provided until the morning of, yet employees are expected to show up early or adjust their entire day at management's convenience. There is zero respect for people's time or lives outside of work. Management is extremely inconsistent and dismissive. In one situation, an employee had a legitimate emergency and was told--rudely--to "think about the business," with no concern or empathy whatsoever. But when that same employee later quit, management had the nerve to complain about not receiving a two-week notice, despite never offering employees the basic courtesy of advance scheduling. The hypocrisy is unreal. There are also serious food safety concerns that should not be ignored. Employees are expected to handle cash and then immediately prepare food without proper handwashing being enforced. There are also reports of old fries being reused and fryer oil not being changed regularly, which raises major questions about cleanliness and food quality. Overall, this is not a professional environment in any sense. Between the way employees are treated, the lack of basic organization, and the concerning food handling practices, this is a place that needs to be looked into. Whenever I see some hole in the wall burger joint, I usually want to try it eventually. Finally stopped by after work one evening and got a jr hamburger and chilli cheese fries. The jr hamburger was decent enough.. but could use more condiments like mayo or thousand island. I liked that the chilli cheese fries came in two sizes and I opted for small. It was the perfect size to fill me up along with the burger. The fries were cooked perfectly.. not under or overcooked. Service was good and I was acknowledged shortly after entering the restaurant. I was the only one there lol. I think I'll be back soon to try the teriyaki bowl advertised in front of the restaurant. read more

Absolutely horrendous food, there's a reason this place is always empty. The fries were drenched in oil to the point of squeezing them they'll drip plenty of oil, the patties are dry, old and burnt, and to top it off after eating here I got food poisoning. BEWARE never coming again. read more

She was very rude and the lot was empty. -Food average nothing special -Owner mean Building looks like it's about to fall over, can't even see the lines in the parking lot. We ordered three chicken tacos. I ordered one taco, cheese, iceberg lettuce and two pico de gallo on the side. Friend ordered two chicken tacos, no pico de gallo with a soda. The tacos are corn tortillas, comes with two tortillas each. The tacos were good. Cost $17 for it all. Parking is odd. Coming off Mission be careful. I'd turn on the next street to get into the parking lot. There's always plenty of parking. That's the lost star plus it's in the hood. Ambiance, nothing special. Nothing. It's clean though. The ac isn't run expect during the Summer. Otherwise there's a fan going. It's not torture. There's a TV. Not a flat screen. I can understand because safety first! Nobody is going to rob her for that. Service is always good. Normally it's always the cook, a female and Joyce there. It's never busy. They are nice and cordial, food comes out at a reasonable time. We went there for breakfast and it was a waste of time. Those women have no clue what they are doing. There was a family of 5 ordering before us and were chitter chattering with the girls behind the counter and didn't even stop talking! They spent, NO JOKE, like 10 minutes standing there! The French Fries are bomb here. I pretty much only come here once in a while for a breakfast burrito and French fries. Only giving four stars because we always have to call in the order and when we go pick up sometimes we still need to wait a few extra minutes. I just finished eating for the first time here. I wonder why I have never stopped here to eat living in riverside for half my life. O wait now I know why.... it sucks and disappointed me. I asked for something simple also that isn't so hard to mess up. I ordered a chorizo burrito and French toast. The burrito was lame, was made up of hash browns and pico almost no chorizo. I've lived in the area for over 35 years and today was my first time ever eating at Joyce Burger & Rice and it was great!! I kept it simple and ordered a 1/4 pound cheeseburger meal with onion rings and another one with fries and both were delicious. I will definitely be back for more. read more

My go to place when I want a chicken sandwich, I always get the combo because the fries are bomb here, fountain sodas are also always nicely carbonated. The chicken is tasty and it's always fresh tasting. If you want to make it better; add avocado. I'm not a fan of the chili so I don't get chili fries but their burgers are also tasty. If you ever find yourself walking around in the heart of Rubidoux and you see this little Pepto Bismol pink building that looks like it has been abandoned for 5 years and it says "Joyce's Burger" on the front, you've come to the right place! Many of the Rubidoux locals know and love the place. I always go with the Joyce Special, which is a classic 1/4 pound burger, fries and a drink. That's as basic as it gets, but it sure does hit the spot! The people who run the place are very nice and they also have a TV in there if you want to watch something while you eat. The bathroom looks run down as well, but it always has the ONE thing I look for: SOAP. They wash their hands -- food safety for the win! I have fond memories of hanging out with my friends at this place and am glad to see that nothing has changed -- I hope it stays that way. read more

Joyce's burger has been around for several years now. Sure the building is old, but the food is good. The prices are no different then any other burger joint of this type. It's not a chain restaurant where they can under cut and mass produce everything. Your order is cooked to order so it's fresh... For being a local joint I would recommend it to anyone. read more
