We've driven past this place 100s of times. Decided today was the day to try it. I'm so glad we did! The woman who helped us was friendly - she welcomed us as soon as we walked in. We ordered the 4 piece dinner. It came with a salad, fries, a roll and chicken. I asked for legs and thighs. Winner! Winner! Chicken dinner! The chicken was the star!! Large pieces, breaded and cooked perfect! It was juicy and flavorful. The roll was delicious - I should've asked for butter. The fries were so good! Cooked crispy and seasoned perfectly! Without a doubt my go to spot in Riverside. My favorite are the gizzards, can't find em anywhere anymore! Great food, great service and the owner is great! The chicken is really good and always HOT not almost cold like other places. The staff is friendly and if you call in your order ahead of time, they will have it ready. It's a small place inside with seating, but again, a small place. This is a place you need to add to your must visit places and a regular place to get some good chicken from. Decades late to the party! I've heard about Donahoo's when I was in high school and I never thought a humble building would have amazing food. The fried chicken here is one of the best I've had and the mojo potatoes here are by far the BEST potatoes I have ever had. You cannot really go wrong here. I tried the tenders here and it's also really good. The gizzard were good but can't really say I'd try them again. Overall I'd stick to the chicken and potatoes. The one thing I do like about this location is that you can call ahead of time which is better than the Pomona location. The food takes a while to make, usually 20-30 minutes. Parking in the front is pretty limited so I suggest parking in the Chinese restaurant right beside Donahoo's. Overall, an epic place for fried chicken and potatoes! read more

So fine, I'll take off the batter and just eat the chicken. The chicken was pretty meh. Nothing exciting and definitely not worth the work. The rolls were super heavy and yeasty and didn't taste good. Had half of one and tossed the rest. The coleslaw was bland. Literally just chopped cabbage and mayonnaise. The mojo potatos were fantastic! If we got just those, this would be a 5 start review. Again, I had super high hopes and was so disappointed. This is really good fried chicken. However it has been at least five years since last visited due to moving from the neighborhood in 2021 and it being difficult to order from them. They must have a cash payment before starting the order and then you wait, somewhere, for 45 minutes while they fry the chicken fresh. We would hang out at the library or the donut shop nearby prior to Covid. During Covid we went to restaurants that allowed us to place the order online. read more

I've never had a bad meal here. I see the bad reviews and I don't understand it. Chicken pieces are big and crispy like broasted chicken is supposed to be. The chicken tenders are strips whatever you want to call them are moist inside. The mojo potatoes are delicious. The bread is huge and has a nice sweet taste to it.. Some people say the chicken tastes bland? Put your own spices on it, a little salt and pepper goes a long way! Not everything has to be covered in hot sauce. First and last time ordering food from here. The family order came with 20 rolls. We had ordered two family orders so a total of 40 rolls which were either burnt or undercooked and still raw. I called and by the owner I was told they are not that hard and I could still eat them. I was told I can be reimbursed for 3 of the burnt rolls which it was a total of $5 and some change. So out of 40 rolls none were edible I will only be reimbursed $5 and was told they are not that hard or burnt by the owner which she said she knew what they looked like and it was still ok to serve raw and undercooked or burnt. I will never be returning and will not recommend based on customer service read more
