So I'm not gonna give them a low rating, but I'm not gonna give them a high one yet either. This was my second time having a sandwich from here both delivered by DoorDash the first time the sandwich was incredible and I thought I was eating a cloud when eating bread. Then my sandwich arrived today and I knew immediately that this was not the same sandwich I had last week. The bread was hard and undesirable and I instantly knew we had a problem. I called and asked gentleman on the phone if something about their bread was different and he quickly told me yes we had a large order yesterday and we ran out of bread so we have substitute bread today. I sure wish I would've been told this because I would've ordered elsewhere as this bread was not at all like the bread I had last week so needless to say I got a refund from DoorDash and I'll give them a chance to redeem themselves tomorrow and then I will come back and update my review, but I feel they should let you know when they change something that is so good. read more

I've been eating sandwiches for as long as I can remember and what intrigue me about this place was they said they were the best subs so I went in to completely empty restaurant. They do a lot of business. It seems to go orders, but I chose to stay there and eat, I ordered the Italian sandwich chips and a soda price was really reasonable, but I found the sandwich locking. I've never seen a sandwich with so little meat in it if you wanted bread with lettuce and mayonnaise that was the sandwich for you while I was waiting for my food another customer came in and was asking questions and the gentleman at the counter and the girl making the sandwiches after he left. They were talking smack about him in front of another customer. As far as the ambience there wasn't any, there was no decor. The TV in the middle of the restaurant was so high that the guy was talking on the phone couldn't hear the customers in person or over the phone what they were saying. I was very excited to take my daughter to my old college lunch spot. I raved about how delicious the Turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich was. First let me say it wasn't horrible but definitely wasn't the same. I was expecting smashed avocado like it used to be (about 20 years ago), freshly made bread, and a decent amount of bacon. I had pre-made bread (good but not great), like 2 small pieces of bacon and hardly any sliced avocado. My daughter ordered the Italian who said it was really good, but to the new owners can you please bring back the smashed avocados? An elder retired man great guy! 3 owners later you try to call in an order they won't answer the phone When they finally decide to answer they won't take your order they tell you we are closing soon we talking 1:30 -2:00 and I've been trying to call for over an hour .. also portion sizes have changed and the food's not as good as it used to be. They hardly give you any avocado on the turkey, bacon avocado sandwich, vegetables, taste old and not fresh. Quality has gone downhill all new different people all the time that shows they're having staff problems. My Hero Subs is a shell of its former self. I used to be a regular before it was sold. When I would visit it was all Coca Cola decorated. Since the new owner took over, he just doesn't have the pride of ownership that the previous owner had. The sandwiches aren't as tasty as before. And the upkeep is just terrible. Bathrooms are dirty, broken front door, preparation surfaces are dirty, tv panel inside is broken... it's just a shame to see a place slowly go down hill over the years since the new owner took place. Therefore, it was a shock when I saw a new table top and new menus, it looks like this restaurant is under brand new ownership! The best part is that nothing has changed, at all.
