Zon-Zon may just have the best damn hummus in Addison. I also appreciated their take on Kibbeh. Unlike the traditional finger food version, this one was served on a plate with pomegrante arils, which added a hint of sweetness. It was perfect. We loved our experience at Zon Zon and will definitely be back. We started off with the crispy cauliflower and roasted beets with burrata. Both were delicious. I had the ribeye kabob with a side of harissa broccolini. The steak was prepared perfectly and was so tender. The broccoli was also so flavorful. We loved all of it. While the food was incredible, the restaurant wasn't full. Not sure why, but I hope more people discover Zon Zon. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Located in Addison, upon entering your eyes will be drawn to their beautiful bar. The walls are dark green and decorated with various gold features. The booths are very comfortable. The only thing that seemed a little off was I only noticed one other party when I was there which led to an emptiness feeling. 1/2 Star. Service - Since we were one of the few patrons, we were rewarded with exemplary service. The staff was very kind a patient, allowing us to dine at our own pace. And the manager even checked on us several times. The end result was that we received personal attention on our visit. 1 Star. Food - We started with the Crispy Cauliflower. This amazing dish begins with a turmeric yellow cauliflower head that had a hearty bite that sat in a bed of tangy tahini and parmesan. Mediterranean through and through my main dish was the Steak Shawarma Frites. The super tender steak was topped with Za'atar chimichurri. This easily transformed my steak bite into another Mediterranean adventure. The perfectly fried house fries soaked up these flavors and continued to remind me of my steak long after I had devoured it. 1 1/2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. In fact, I hope more people discover Zon Zon. While my dishes were delicious and the service was amazing, I couldn't help but to think there should be more patrons. This was a really great, new Mediterranean spot. When you first walk in the interior is beautiful, love all the dark green accent. We chose to sit in the outdoor area towards the back. The food was delicious. Each dish was seasoned well and tasted very fresh. Note the flavor profile is strong, not a light meal. The hummus with filet was delicious. The hummus itself could have used more lemon and salt. The ginger beer mocktail was the most flavorful, but the other mocktails were boring. The salmon had a wonderful crust on it and the roasted vegetables were cooked great. The half chicken was tender and juicy. The pomegranate jus was slightly sweet, yet still savory. The whipped potatoes were flavored well with lemon. The fries were nice and crispy as well. The waiter really knew a lot about the menu which was great. I really, really enjoyed this meal. It's a new spot, and I'll admit Mediterranean isn't usually my go-to, but the location alone convinced me. It's right next to the Body Rock I go to, so it felt like the perfect excuse to try something new. Everything about the experience was genuinely impressive. The service was fantastic. David was our server, and the manager stopped by multiple times to check on us, which felt attentive without being overbearing. We ordered almost the entire menu, and they were incredibly accommodating. I asked if they could bring out the meat pie from the happy hour menu, and they happily checked with the kitchen and made it happen. That level of flexibility goes a long way. For a newly opened space, they were surprisingly polished. Tables were cleared quickly, service was organized, and everything ran smoothly. The space itself is beautiful too. Stylish decor, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and a really inviting atmosphere. It was a bit quiet when we went, maybe around ten people total, which honestly felt undeserved given how good everything was. As someone who doesn't usually gravitate toward this cuisine, I was pleasantly surprised across the board. Standouts included the rice and salads, both fresh and flavorful. The baba ganoush with bread was excellent, easily one of my favorites. The potatoes had a bit of a kick but were still delicious. There wasn't a single dish I regretted ordering. The food does lean heavier, especially with the bread and meat, but that's expected. I'd recommend going for both an appetizer and a main to really get the full experience. What took me to long to find this place? What a GEM of a restaurant. What stood out was the flavors of everything. Think your favorite margarita with a smoked pineapple. They comped her dessert also and brought it out with a candle which was very nice. The baklava was okay. The creme brulee and the cheesecake were SO good!! Would give it a 4.5 if that were an option. Service was excellent. Food mixed, with the Lamb Kebobs done perfectly, though the rest of the dish consists mainly of greens and a few slivers of fig. The Apricot Lamb Cous Cous was a little overcooked and was served on a sea of cous cous. Tasty and nice combination of flavors, but the meat was slightly overcooked the cous cous slightly dry. The space is nicely decorated and bright enough that you don't need to strain to read the menus. The beer was served in a glass, not sure if it was on draft or from a bottle, but it was not cold enough and somewhat flat as if it had been poured 10 minutes earlier - though it came out fast. But: The space has only hard surfaces and the music was turned up a bit too loud. That combination, but more the acoustics, made the noise level significantly too high. And there is an issue with the booths, the seat is too deep and the table can't be moved. Which means you need to hunch over the table to eat and then get no back support. And when you are leaned back the noise level made it difficult to have a conversation across the table. To be clear we enjoyed our dinner. But only about 1/2 mile away is Selda, which doesn't have as nice a space and has less refined, but tastier, food, more comfortable seating and is less expensive. And if you are wondering, no I have no connection to Selda, you can check my other reviews if you think I'm a shill. read more

We ate there with friends last night they had been before and loved it and we absolutely loved it too..the service was wonderful and the food was fabulous..we got the hummus and pita to start and loved it then I had the ZA'ATAR Salmon which was probably the best salmon I'd ever had and loved the seasoning and the roasted vegetables our friends got the Steak Shawarma Frites and it was cooked perfectly and their fries were divine..hubs got the Apricot Lamb all great choices and the cocktails were great we got the Moroccan Kiss with ginger liqueur and loved it and a very reasonably priced bottle of red wine..absolutely loved every dish we got and the staff was wonderful...we went at 6pm on a Tuesday when we left it was packed and I see why!
