Walked in right before 130pm on a Monday. Few people in line. They buzzed right through. I ordered a large lamb chili and 2 small spinach pies. He suggested I get the large as it would charge less. So, I got the large. I'm eating the chili as I type this review and it's delicious. It's spicy - just the way I like it. I took a bite of the pie and it was tasty. I referred here for the chili. If you want to dine in, there's only a few spots at a window table looking out to the street. They close at 3pm so it's only open for lunch hours. The look is cute nothing too fab. read more

Cute little spot in the heart of Quincy Market/Fanuiel Hall. No place to sit there but find a spot near the market or on a bench. The original gyro is the best thing we had. Delicious and very large. The dolmas were a hit. The salad wasn't great- chicken was dry, so I would go with the pork. Service is fine - nothing great so definitely know what you want before going in. We're from Chicago, which is a great city to eat your way through. My uncle is also Greek and very picky, so I think I know a thing or two about Greek food and gyros. We happened to be in Boston for a few days and my husband insisted I go to Zo with him even though he had gone the day before for lunch. He said it was the best gyro he had ever had. That's a pretty big claim, so I had to try it. He wasn't wrong! The meat was fresh and delicious, and more surprisingly, pork! According to the owner, in Greece, gyros are all pork or chicken. I had no clue! We're use to the Kronos type of gyros on a spit which are lamb. This was a wonderful change of pace and tasted so fresh and delicious. I also tried the dolmades and soup, also delicious! The staff was very efficient and super friendly. We got a culinary lesson and would love to go back next time we're back in Boston. The chicken gyro was one of the best I've ever had! Filled with well-seasoned meat, fresh parsley and red onions, and delicious tzatziki sauce. The pita tasted fresh. My issue is with the pompous attitude about how "in Greece ALL gyros are pork.." bro, get over yourself, people like lamb in their gyros so give it to them.. I'm not sure what you're trying to prove. Came here for the first time for lunch today. It's a block or so from my work, but I hadn't gone in. Honestly, I didn't really like (or didn't THINK I liked) Greek food until I actually went to Greece last summer. Yum! I got there at about 11:45 and there was already a healthy line. It's a really small place, so it's not hard to have a line almost out of the door. It took less than 5 minutes to get to the counter and my food was ready for me when I got to the register. No complaints! I ended up ordering the chicken gyro, though I was thisclose to getting spanakopita. I figured I'd start with one of their staples first. I did not regret it! It was a healthy portion of food for $9. I actually ate it over 2 "afternoon food eating sessions". Ha! Anyway - the chicken was moist and plentiful, the tzatziki was creamy and cucumbery and there were plenty of tomato and onion pieces to round it out (not to mention that pita...!). All in all - I would totally come back here for lunch. Next stop: spanakopita and then maybe an original gyro just because. But wait - the soups look good too! And I do love me some Greek salad. Only open for lunch, they have a very good system going on here. The queue moves VERY quickly. I was impressed. We arrived at 11:45 and got our "original gyro." One of the two tables inside was open, so we enjoyed lunch and watched the ballet as they took care of customers, filled orders and took payment. Very nicely done. The gyro was very tasty. A nicely softened and warmed pita was loaded with donner lamb and then a dollop of tzatziki was added and a pinch of parsley, onion and tomato. It was delicious and so well assembled that it didn't drip on me, even to the last drop. They have cheesecake and baklava and some interesting drinks that I've not seen anywhere else. This is for the TRUCK that appears at Dewey Square and Rowe's Wharf. I'm a creature of habit so I've been getting the spinach pie and Avgolemono soup pretty much every time. Both are consistently awesome. The spinach pie is wrapped in crisp, Golden,buttery filo. The spinach is cooked soft but not mush. Well seasoned and plenty of feta. A treat every time. The avgolemono is bright flavor, thick, and hearty. I've had the regular gyro many times and it is incredibly satisfying. If you have a meeting or a date, get it without the onions, they're pretty pungent. My only bad experience was the gazpacho that was more like a thick salsa in texture than a soup. The flavor was kind of flat and muddled as well. The folks working the truck are polite, fast, and efficient. They've been in Dewey M W and F. By Rowe's on both Ts. I made my way to Zo on a Friday afternoon for lunch. Despite two different locations listed on Yelp, Zo is located right off Merchant Row near Faneuil Hall. The shop itself is pretty tiny - there are two high-top tables with a few chairs at each. The workers are friendly and put the food out fast. I couldn't decide between the spanakopita and the original Gyro... so I got both. The original Gyro was delicious. They give you tons of meat, tomato, onions, and sauce. The pita is thick and holds up to the bulk of the Gyro. As for the spanakopita, the philo dough was flaky and perfectly golden brown. It was stuffed full of spinach and cheese, absolutely delicious. There is no shortage of Greek/Mediterranean fast casual places around Boston. Zo is owned by the same owners of Sabroso Taqueria and both of them operate brick & mortar stores and food trucks. If you are looking for a quick lunch option, it really can't get faster than Zo. I can with coworkers at noon, prime time for lunch and the line was at the door. We were out in under 5 minutes. The service rivals that of the Al's sandwich restaurants. Food wise, you can get their meats in a rice bowl, salad, or a warm fluffy pita l that they grill right behind the counter. I've been here twice and have ordered their rice bowl with comes with meat of choice, rice, salad mix, tomatoes, diced onions, and a yogurt based sauce. I've been in downtown Boston for about 5 years and frequent many of the local lunch spots and Zo's is a weekly regular. The menu is small and simple but doesn't lack in quality and flavor. Everything tastes very fresh and portioned well for the price. Depending on my mood I will go with the Original Gyro (pork), I'll get a garden salad with Chicken or go with one of their soups. I've thoroughly enjoyed their Kale Beef soup but my favorite is their lamb chili. It's mild on the beans but packed with flavor, and they serve their soups with strips of pita that are nice and warm and great to dip into your soup. I also recommend their beef kale soup, if you have a sore throat their lemon chicken rice soup is very good, although sometimes the citrus can be too overpowering. read more
