Been coming here since high school and the food quality hasn't change one bit. Chili is on point. Mac salad is the best I've tasted on island. Add a sprinkle of pepper and boom!! IYKYK! Chicken is always bomb and you can't eat zippys without ordering the orange bang. My go to is the chili and chicken mix or the chili moco. But honestly, anything on the menu is perfect for someone. Great prices for good food. Plenty of options that fit most budgets. It is cheaper than most fast food and it's fresh and better quality. The food was ready real quick. I had a breakfast sandwich and corn muffin bread. I love corn muffin bread and it was pretty good. As the saying goes "not fast food but good food fast". Fries were good veggie burger was bland. Definitely cool seeing a Hawaiian fast food chain but not a lot of options for vegetarians. I like zippys, but why would you charge extra to put mac salad on the side, some people dont like to have the mac salad touching their rice/salad/french fries. I WOULD NOT recommend coming back. I am LOVING the specials lately!! Tried order and curbside pickup a couple times. Flawless execution both times! We park in a numbered spot, click the online link to notify the restaurant of our arrival, and a few minutes later someone brings our order out to us. I plan to use that option more often. Ok now onto the yummy goodies! The furikake miso salmon Katsu was the initial prompt to visit Zippy's special menu. I'm usually a simple loco moco kinda gal. Maybe the occasional dobash slice ;) Scrolling through IG, I saw the fish dish displaying its beauty, begging to be savored! Not wanting to miss out on the special, hubs and I tagged it as dinner the following night. So glad we did! Even despite the moisture from sauce, the filet was crispy on the outside and perfectly flaky tender on the inside. Hubs got the kalbi mix plate. He loved it so much we now have to check their specials every few days to catch it when it's back on the menu! Hint: it was there the following week but not the week after that... so enjoy it when you can! It came with a generous serving of delicious boneless kalbi, half a dog, karaage chicken, and fried dumplings, all over rice or salad. I saw chocolate long Johns on their bakery list for that day so of course there had to be dessert in the bag too! When the daughter arrived to spend the holiday months with us, she insisted we go back so she could try the delicious salmon I raved about on IG... got her drooling! LOL This time I decided to try the garlic miso chicken. Mmmmm another delicious special that I'm positive I will crave often. The chicken pieces were juicy on the inside with a light crisp and rich sauces drizzled all over. Yumminess in every bite. They didn't have the chocolate long john this second pickup visit but they had something even better... glazed mochizada. This was a first for me but it wasn't the last (because I went right back to get a few more to share with the young adults lol). The outside was a typical but perfect donut glaze surface, but the inside was fried mochi... similar bite to sesame balls, not as stretchy as straight up fried mochi. Love it! Everything thing here are still pretty much the same love there food nothing changes but the prices which is understandable due to the economy , My only complaint today was I ordered a wonton min an love having hot mustard with it & they only offer the generic packaged mustard not the real Chinese mustard that adds a kick to the dish , that they use to have like in the Chinese restaurants , that's my only disappointment today maybe I bring my own mustard next time read more

"Next Stop: Zippy's!" Ahhh, the familiar motto of an island favorite... I usually make this stop omw to my parents' place whenever I'm home. Like every other business, the inflation here is real and even more so in the Land of Aloha. Location is right on Ft. Weaver Road, so you can't miss it. My faves here are the Chili Dog Plate, the Fried Chicken, Chili, the famous "Orange Bang" drink and the malasadas. The malasadas are basically fluffy little pillows commonly known as donuts everywhere else. I much prefer the ones here rather than the ones you can get from the popular Leonard's. Imo, Leonard's malasadas are soooooo greasy and I'm just not down with that. When Zippy's added malasadas to their menu a few years ago, I had to try them at least once. Can't remember how much a dozen was, but I want to say they were around $1 each when they made their debut. They also used to come filled with chocolate, custard, haupia and other flavors. That was pre-covid days. My last visit here was in November of 2021 and at that time, they only had regular ones. Had to get my fix so I paid whatever it was... ballpark figure of $16ish?? Anyway, worth it imo! If you get the Orange Bang, you might want to ask for less ice because they usually fill it halfway or 3/4 full! I will always make a stop here at least once while I'm on island, whether it's this location or somewhere else. Some are open 24 hours but this one is not. You'll have to call in your order PRIOR to picking up at the drive thru. Sooooo...if you're heading home to the Ewa side and you get an itch for Zippy's, call ahead before you exit that H1!! Lol That way it should be ready by the time you roll through. 3 stars for me because the portions seem to have gotten smaller and one time I went to the drive thru and was sorely disappointed that they didn't have what I wanted. Why would they let me order it when I called?! Smh For the most part the employees are nice, and the food is good, but this is a once in a while treat for me. I drove there at 9:15 waited in line until 10:04pm. Finally, received my food at 10:16pm. It took 2 hours 10 min. 11/25/20- This is regarding their online ordering and curbside pick up. Their online ordering system is easy to navigate. My order was ready in 20 minutes just as was stated online. I was able to park in their curbside pick up stalls and after checking in that I was here, a friendly worker brought my food out in about 5 minutes. Zippy's is your typical local comfort food. I haven't eaten here in a while though because the increased prices and smaller food portions deterred me. But since I was craving their korean fried chicken and chili I had to order. This location fricken sucks the young girls working the counter are rude. I waited almost 45 min for my breakfast. Mind you I only ordered 2 plates food. And it wasn't even busy. While I waited for my food I see the cooks in the back laughing and goofing around and making all the employee meals before anyone else's. The food sucks its over cooked and burnt. On Wednesday November 27, I stopped by to get a breakfast bento to go! Which Included rice,corn beef hash, Portuguese sausage and an egg for $5.25. I Reached my destination and only to be disappointed! I called Zippy's and asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to Marilyn the manager and shared with her about my disappointment of the bento I had purchased. She apologized and offered me to return to get another bento or a certificate. Next Stop Zippys. Usually a favored lunch spot to get through the work week, I love the fact that zippys has continued to up their game with relation to adding the zipster rewards app and providing new specials of the day on their menu. The food is usually pretty good no matter what you order. I personally love the Ewa location as one of my two favorite locations simply because of its drive thru feature. Having a baby, it was hard to utilize sit in restaurants and the drive thru really helped us. The staff here is fast friendly and helpful. We frequent this location a lot and will definitely be back soon read more

I never get tired of Zippy's korean fried chicken. Always savory and full of taste. One downside to the Korean Chicken plate is that it wasn't that hot as I wanted it to be. Always ask for extra sauce to pour all over your rice. As for desert I got Mochizada. I wasn't that aware about this desert but it's so good. Very chewy in the inside and glazed on the outside. I guess it's a mix of mochi and a malasadas. I haven't tried the choclate filled ones which I will try the next time. read more

We live nearby and occasionally comehere, maybe once every month or so for a late night dinner. This has to be the worst location on the island. The employees move like molasses and forget or fail to provide what's on the order. They forget the extra gravy every time and I ask for extra gravy because they skimp on the loco moco every single time. Fed up with it. For 16 bucks, and almost no gravy, guess I'll find somewhere else. Oh well. Wife says the Vegas Pac is okay. Employees are ice enough, but slow. As much as the horrible experience didn't deserve any stars..The 5 stars goes solely towards the outcome of it all. If you're reading this, you'll see that I have made comments about this location before and not so good comments at that. And if you're continuing to read this is one, you're either bored or two, you value my opinion. Or three, you just want to see what this "Karen" has to b!+ch about again. Well this is first for me that I've never read on Yelp about Zippys having something in their meal other than the ingredients that it suppose to have. Last night I found a piece of plastic in my oxtail soup. A meal that I was about to serve my daughter for dinner. I immediately called Zippys and ask to connect me directly to its Ewa location. The waiting took a while to have someone answer the phone (14 minutes long). 5-star action starts from here. Dominique who was the supervisor that took the call and I explained to her what was found. Very apologetic and asked if I'm willing to come back. Sure, after I get my kids settled to bed. When I got to Zippys and asked to speak to the supervisor, I think everyone knew my situation. Having put a face to the name, I've noticed Dominique from past visits before and she seemed she bust ass there. Very apologetic again, I handed her the piece of plastic, and in return, gave me another oxtail for free. I did, however, expected refund back. So I asked and she gave me my refund too! Just ordered takeout for a regular SPARERIBS. I had to WAIT MORE THAN 20 minutes!?!? The rice was already cooked, the Mac salad was already made, and da SPARERIBS is made and ready to serve. Phone service is the worst. Been on hold for 33 minutes after requesting for the bakery and nobody ever answered. Driving to the location would have been faster. Called again to make sure someone can answer and the same girl that answered the first time just transfers without being sure someone will answer, was on hold again for 15 minutes with NO ANSWER! Can you believe this? Because i was served this by zippys Ewa beach. This chicken is RAW to the point it still has blood. Went back to talk to a manager and guess what? She gave me $15 credit to come back again I'm shocked. I had already ate 2 pieces of the chicken and tasted blood so decided to rip open the Remaining pieces of my chicken just to check and see what that fowl taste was about and to my surprise my chicken was literally almost still alive. Well, this is my third trip home to visit since I left in 2012, and we decided to stop at the Zippy's in Ewa Beach! We got there about half an hour before the dinner rush, and our waitress was very patient as we waited for my youngest to arrive. She was awesome! I only wish I got her name. We ordered their famous Zip Min, which is basically fast food ramen with all the fixings! You got fried shrimp, greens, kamaboko, and wontons in a savory broth. I had the chili burrito plate that comes with 2 scoops of rice (I asked for 1), and a scoop macaroni salad. Zippy's is known for their chili. Some say the secret ingredient is peanut butter, but I think that's an urban legend. My other some had the chili frank plate, and my daughter had the hamburger steak. Their meals also came with rice and Mac salad. On our way out, we got some pastries to go from the showcase as you enter the restaurant side. My favorite is their glazed flaky donut. We came here around 11pm on a Saturday night. The hostess checking us in needs a lesson in customer service. She was rude from the get go. She informed us that we needed to check in by scanning the QR code on a sign posted outside of the restaurant, fill out the info and wait to be seated. She explained that they were understaffed, they only had 2 servers, and that the wait time would be about 30-45 min. Her overall demeanor was unpleasant. Needs to work on tone and delivery in my opinion. When we were finally seated, our waitress on the other hand was super friendly and much more accommodating. Zippy's. Why do I have to pay 2% for you to retain your employees along with hiring and training them? That's just like saying if you want a cashier to bag your groceries, Safeway will add an additional 2-% to your bill. Pay your employees what they are worth vs passing the charge on to the customer.
