We were going to pass through Cloverdale after leaving Clear Lake and wanted to find a good food breakfast spot. Thank you fellow Yelpers for helping us find Zini's. All the staff we encountered were super duper friendly and immediately ready to start our drink order. We enjoyed the Tuna Melt with hot, crispy fries and the Prime Rib skillet with potatoes and 2 eggs. They were perfect and hit our hunger spots. Interior is big and airy, very spacious. Would definitely come through again.

The restaurant is huge inside. In a strip mall next to ACE Hardware you'll be surprised. There are not many places to have breakfast in Cloverdale, so Zini's is about it besides Plank, Hamburger Ranch, Starbucks, McDonald's and a cute bakery downtown on 1st street (Bakery El Paloma with great breakfast burritos). Our waitress was wonderful, food came out quick. The restaurant has booths, table & chairs inside and limited outside sidewalk dining. The portions are large, I didn't even finish the Huevos Rancheros, in fact all three of us had leftovers. My MIL had the breakfast quesadilla & only ate half. It came with choice of side & she ordered crispy hash browns and they were perfect. Prices are typical these days and we enjoyed our meal.

After 4 days of getting lost amongst the Mendocino redwoods and Sonoma Coast, it was time to make my way back inland. My partner and I wanted a delicious breakfast and cloverdale was the first cute little town to catch my eye for settlement. I ended up walking into Zini's, the building is huge! It can definitely accommodate large parties. Around the walls is sprinkled with different kinds of art, with the beautiful agriculture and even cowboy classics. I think what caught my eye were the vintage cereal boxes on the wall. They're probably older than me! The gentleman to take my order was very polite and patient as I asked my tons of questions. This is one of my first interactions with people having been in a deadzone for three days. I was very glad to see a warm smile and a happy face in such a nice establishment. The food came out quickly, the biscuits and gravy were pretty good, but I would say they were on the sweet side and if you're a sweet tooth fan, I would say, these are definitely for you! I ended up getting the chorizo skillet and it's got a soft kick of spice, and I could definitely say I was able to handle it. Not too spicy, if anything, the delicious bell peppers and fresh pica de gallo made it all worth it. Everything was great, at least for me and my hubs!

3 stars for breakfast. 0 for lunch. Because what is this grilled cheese??? I got 3 of them and it's just wonder bread with 2 cheese slices... the fries were cold. And I couldn't go back because 1) I have hungry kids and 2) they were closing. Everyone is always super nice here and I always recommend it but.. I'm highly disappointed in this one. It should have been ready to eat but instead I needed to put it in my oven some more but then it just got worse. I shouldn't have to do anything when I bring it home.

Chicken fried steak

We had an amazing waitress. Her name was Marissa and she was super helpful and kind and we had some fun together. The restaurant is very large and airy and is a kind of seat yourself style even though they will see you. One of us had a mimosa, which was all champagne. We talked extensively about the menu. I chose to order the chicken fried steak because it's pan fried and made from scratch where they actually beat out the steak. That's not very common. Most restaurants will use frozen chicken fried steak. Hashbrowns were overdone. The eggs were past medium. The sourdough bread was out of this world with real butter. Now my big complaint was the packaged out of a box gravy. I don't understand why you would go through all the trouble of making this beautiful chicken fried steak from scratch, all that time And put packaged gravy on it. That was the nastiest gravy I've ever had and I do not expect to spend $18 on packaged gravy. I could've done that at home. But I personally make a better gravy from scratch . The corn beef hash was really good. It was a little salty for me but yummy corn beef, My other friend had just a basic two egg breakfast. To be honest, the package gravy just ruined the breakfast. It probably would've been better without it.

8/13/2023: I have had breakfast here at Zini's Diner with my first-born daughter, Joy and her husband, Mike last year. Zini's Diner has a myriad of breakfast fare which makes it difficult choosing which you want inhaling; however, I want inhaling Zini's Diner entire menu selection, minus the pancakes: I never liked consuming pancakes as a child and as an older adult, I still can't fathom inhaling pancakes so, I opt for an omelette breakfast. Moreover, I haven't had the opportunity inhaling Zini's Diner lunch fare; however, I'll make a point eating lunch in the near future.

Came here for a late lunch. Service was friendly and attentive. The restroom and dining area were clean. A couple of tv's with the A's game on. The food came out quickly. I had the Cesar salad with bay shrimp. My salad was dressed well and there was a large amount of shrimp. My mom ordered the mushroom burger, she said the burger was dry and under seasoned. My dad had the hot turkey sandwich. He also thought the turkey was dry. He said the vegetables were good. The plate unfortunately looked like it came from a cafeteria. When I am back in town I'd like to give them another try. Maybe breakfast

Eggs Florentine. Spinach on English muffin topped with poached eggs and hollandaise, plus lots of paprika.

This is a classic diner. Fun and fast service by waitstaff who are professional. Classic fare plus some fun additions. Coffee is Ok, food is nicely cooked and S&P are on the table so you can season the food up as you wish. Florentine eggs were beautiful and chicken fried steak was pounded thin and tender. This isn't a foodie paradise, more a value-for-money joint. Service was delightful.

The food was yummy. The Swedish pancakes were crispy on the edge and soft on the middle. They didn't skimp on the butter. The service was swift and precise and I didn't lack for attention. It was a great menu with lots of options but nothing was really out of left field like you see at some places. All in all it was a great diner feel!

Philly cheesesteak with a side of fresh fruit salad. Delicious!

Jilly's Real Food Roadhouse - Fried chicken sandwich and tallow fries

Thank you for an amazing afternoon Jilly! It's was so great to meet you and the chef yesterday! The…read moreservice here is OUTSTANDING!! Jilly is a fantastic woman who gives to everyone around her, and we are lucky that she chose a restaurant to run so she can share her love with even more people!! The location is a beautiful picturesque place on the edge of the Russian River, and there is a great patio that you can bring your pup to while you're dining! Now let's get to the best part: the FOOD!! The fries are so crispy and delicious because they are fried in tallow instead of toxic soybean oil! We both got the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, and everything about them was delicious. The meat was tender and not fatty, the cheese was melty and generous, and the produce was fresh! We can't wait to comeback again when we are in the area. Thank you for a wonderful visit, my Mom and I had a fabulous time!

We were headed to Bodega bay from Kenwood and was suggested we stop over here for lunch. I wish…read morethey had more menu item options. We ordered the clam chowder soup, Tomato soup and grilled cheese combo, pulled pork sandwich with tallow fries, single smash burger with tallow fries. The presentation of the sandwiches were great and looked appetizing. However, my son didn't find the smash burger a bit compared to those he tried in other places. The fries were not really a big deal here. The clam chowder had other ingredients like ham and corn. I prefer the cream heavy type of chowder than theirs which was more the soupy type. It seemed it needed more flavor. The view of the Russian River was so pretty. It was a long and winding road drive to the restaurant from Santa Rosa, better to stop here after coming from Bodega bay to avoid the winding roads. Menu item prices should be adjusted lower due.

The cutest spot! My parents recently moved to Cloverdale and I've been exploring their new town…read morewith them the last few days. We came in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and they were definitely busy with a line out the door. Despite the crowd, all the staff members were welcoming and kind. No one seemed flustered or made us feel rushed. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a piece of apple crumb bread (gf), loaded cheesy toast with avocado, a peluche (stuffed crispy roll), and our coffees. My mom and I each had a lavender latte with oat milk. These were awesome! Rich and smooth with a hint of lavender, not overly sweet at all. My dad had a mocha that was also very tasty. The loaded cheesy toast was delicious and the presentation was better than what you get at most boutique cafes in SF or LA. The almond pesto absolutely makes this dish and the spicy mayo drizzle on top is the perfect kick to complement the melty cheese and creamy avocado. The peluche was very good as well-- flaky, crispy outside with roasted potatoes, scrambled egg, and cheese in the middle. You never know if the food is going to meet your expectations when a kitchen is busy on a weekend morning, but it was all tasty and nicely presented. Apple crumble was also stellar! This is the kind of local coffee shop everyone hopes to have in their hometown. Will definitely be going back here with my parents whenever I'm in town for a visit! :)

The Cinnabang is a house specialty drink with espresso, sweetened condensed milk and cinnamon. (The Bangkok is apparently very similar, but without the cinnamon, which I enjoyed.) Now, I love blueberry muffins in general, but this one was next level! It was packed with fruit and, while I'd recommend at least one wet wipe or napkin, it's worth the mess. I had to check and, sure enough, they make them in house, like all of their baked goods. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and a generous portion, obviously still fresh. While I didn't catch the staff's names, they were all friendly, helpful and welcoming. The place felt warm and inviting, yet unpretentious. I hadn't been to downtown Cloverdale since my childhood, but this brief visit made me want to return soon! Charm and comfort food with reasonable prices too! Yes please! The whole block where Plank is located has boutiques and restaurants. Lots to see and explore and worth return visits.
