The barista new most of the regulars orders. I noticed that that make homemade syrups. We got the lavender and Carmel lattes. The lavender had a rich floral flavor. Much deeper and intense. The cutest spot! My parents recently moved to Cloverdale and I've been exploring their new town with them the last few days. We came in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and they were definitely busy with a line out the door. Despite the crowd, all the staff members were welcoming and kind. No one seemed flustered or made us feel rushed. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a piece of apple crumb bread (gf), loaded cheesy toast with avocado, a peluche (stuffed crispy roll), and our coffees. My mom and I each had a lavender latte with oat milk. These were awesome! Rich and smooth with a hint of lavender, not overly sweet at all. My dad had a mocha that was also very tasty. The loaded cheesy toast was delicious and the presentation was better than what you get at most boutique cafes in SF or LA. The almond pesto absolutely makes this dish and the spicy mayo drizzle on top is the perfect kick to complement the melty cheese and creamy avocado. The peluche was very good as well-- flaky, crispy outside with roasted potatoes, scrambled egg, and cheese in the middle. You never know if the food is going to meet your expectations when a kitchen is busy on a weekend morning, but it was all tasty and nicely presented. Apple crumble was also stellar! This is the kind of local coffee shop everyone hopes to have in their hometown. Will definitely be going back here with my parents whenever I'm in town for a visit! :) read more

I stopped by yesterday afternoon before closing and ordered a Cinnabang and the last blueberry muffin. The Cinnabang is a house specialty drink with espresso, sweetened condensed milk and cinnamon. (The Bangkok is apparently very similar, but without the cinnamon, which I enjoyed.) Now, I love blueberry muffins in general, but this one was next level! It was packed with fruit and, while I'd recommend at least one wet wipe or napkin, it's worth the mess. I had to check and, sure enough, they make them in house, like all of their baked goods. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and a generous portion, obviously still fresh. While I didn't catch the staff's names, they were all friendly, helpful and welcoming. The place felt warm and inviting, yet unpretentious. I hadn't been to downtown Cloverdale since my childhood, but this brief visit made me want to return soon! Charm and comfort food with reasonable prices too! Yes please! The whole block where Plank is located has boutiques and restaurants. Lots to see and explore and worth return visits. read more

We stopped here on a Friday morning driving north to Fort Bragg. Sadly, nearly all the food is pre-packaged at a different location (salads 'n stuff). My bagel with cream cheese & raspberry jam was disappointing & i only ate half but my coffee was okay. Cloverdale is a sweet SMALL town. If you visit or pass through, Plank is a must-stop for breakfast, lunch, or a caffeine boost. It's a locally-owned coffee shop and cafe offering small-batch house-roasted coffee, tea, smoothies, house-made pastries, breakfast & sandwiches, and more. I love their coffee (often buy lattes and beans to make at home), as well as their egg & cheese bagel sandos and veggie sando. But on my most recent visit it was HOT outside so I ordered an Arnold Planker, their version of an Arnold Palmer. It's a little sweet and oh so delicious and refreshing! Plank offers a cozy setting and chill vibe with some indoor and outdoor seating. And the friendly staff are the icing on the cake - love that small town energy! Stopped by Plank Coffee to grab some snacks before heading to the river. It's a cute and quaint coffee shop that has locally roasted beans. We got the BLAT sandwich, a lemon poppyseed scone, and the orange vegan cake. The sandwich had a nice kick and a good amount of sauce, and the side salad was well dressed, though I'm not sure I'd come back just for it. The bakery items were the highlight--the scone was moist and flavorful, and the vegan orange cake was also super moist and not too sweet. Service was just okay, and I felt a little uncomfortable during our visit, which affected the experience overall. I'd probably come back for the baked goods if I'm in the area. read more

BANG. The best coffee place in town hands down. Frankly some of the best pastries you can get - I am not a scone guy and their cherry brown sugar scone is dangerous. Open every day at 7, They close at 2. We went there every day we were in Cloverdale before hitting the wineries. Highly Recommend. read more

I was visiting from out of state with hopes of enjoying coffee in a very warm inviting atmosphere. I really enjoyed the coffee and their food selections. The service was quick and I was served with a smile, however, I am giving this place a 2 star review because of a book that was available for children to read in the seating area! The book was titled " How to raise your children so they do not grow up to be like Donald Trump!". To have a book like this to read in a public establishment where customers with a variety of views come to enjoy good coffee, is not all-inclusive. It excludes and creates an uncomfortable environment for those who may disagree with this mindset. I feel it is important that all types of people to feel respected and comfortable in a warm coffee shop. We can't get along if we have polarizing things like this to read where we like to enjoy a nice pastry or hot coffee. read more

Traveled to Cloverdale for a work meeting and had to stop and try a new coffee shop. Ordered the nitro cold brew with vanilla, toffee cookie, and blueberry muffin. Everything is incredible!! There are so many pastries to choose from and the cookies are HUGE!!! I love a sweet treat so I had too. I also collect stickers so I had to ask and they have so many to choose from. Soooooo good. We were passing through on our way back home from a camping trip and stopped at Plank for lunch. I had the BLAT which was good. My wife had the Rise and Shine bowl, which was super good , and my daughter had the biscuit with butter sampler. OMG the biscuits and honey were sooooo good. If I have a reason to be in Cloverdale or Healdsburg again I'm 100% going back to Plank. Oh and the coffee was top notch and the service quick and attentive. read more

An easy 5 star. I've been a native to Sonoma County my whole life, 36 years now. And I love coffee. I've been all over these parts, appreciate the wide variety of options and styles of coffee shops. Plank coffee exceeds my expectations on all levels. The ambiance is warm and comfy, the staff friendly and resourceful. The food and drinks are excellent. Cozy atmosphere and delicious baked goods but the main reason to come to a coffee shop, the coffee, was disappointing. Ordered two 16oz lattes with 4 shots during Sunday morning busy hours and they were scorched without any foam. Came here during Covid. Don't know what it normally looks like but cute cafe. It is a small space. Their Mango Ceylon tea is refreshing. Employees didn't wear gloves. It's not as big of a deal now that we are out of the pandemic but I think precaution is still appreciated. I'd come here again if I were close by. read more

I would give 5/5 but they gave me a sesame instead of plain bagel for my breakfast sandwich, and I didn't want to get it all over my car so had to wait 4 hours to eat it until I got back home. That actually made me very disappointed. The flavor was good for the sandwich (I had tempeh bacon). I think next time I would just get the tempeh, tomato, greens, and maybe cream cheese on a lain bagel, as I got the egg this time and it wasn't great nor the bagel great after having to wait so long to eat it (bagel became soggy, understandably). The coffee was perfect for me 5/5. I would rate it in the top 10 best mochas I have had (quad oat milk mocha, very dark and barely sweet--how I like it). I really like the vibe there and the restroom was clean. I wish we had time to eat in (or on the patio), as I probably would have enjoyed my food more. It's a little pricey, but we expected that. If I had gotten a plain bagel like I ordered and could have eaten it, I wouldn't mind what I paid. read more

We recently stopped here for lunch about half an hour before they closed for the day, and ordered a BLAT sandwich and a Mr. Green Jeans smoothie, neither of which disappointed. We've stopped here many times, and their food, pastries, and coffee are always excellent. I especially like their many gluten-free baked goods, and their GF sandwich bread. The staff is reliably friendly and welcoming, and the bathroom is pleasant. Plank Coffee is the whole package. On this visit, we were headed toward the coast, and it wasn't until 20 minutes over twisty mountain roads that I realized I had left my purse -- something I usually don't carry -- in the café. We hared back as fast as the roads would allow, but still it was 40 minutes after close when we arrived. No one was there. Luckily, a super-nice optician across the street was able to call the owner, who called a staffer, who came back, opened the café, and handed me my purse. I couldn't thank her enough, and she wouldn't accept a reward. The café already deserves 5 stars for the fabulous food and (regular) service, and I wish I could add another 5 stars just for the extra effort they took to make sure my purse was safe and to return it to me, even well after they'd gone home. Thank you, Plank Coffee! We'll be back for another BLAT sometime soon. Though next time I think I'll carry my wallet and keys in my pocket. Just in case. read more

The iced matcha is AMAZING here. The baked goods are as well. I had a chocolate walnut cookie and was eyeing the vegan bundt cake. i came here 3 times in 1 weekend visit. i recommended it to friends who also came back 3x the same weekend! The hibiscus iced tea was disappointing. It states apple orange etc in it but i only could taste hibiscus and too much mint. It was premade and looked disappointing right away when they poured it from the premade container. I wish they would have some croissants vegan. She said they all have egg wash on top- just don't put it on top of some of them! The seating inside is also very cute and cozy. Would go back. read more
