    Barbacoa was awesome!
    Scott M.

Tried the El Milagro in Healdsburg last weekend. Apparently they had only been open for four days! The new location was great, as was the service since they have moved several folks from the Coverdale spot down here to open the new restaurant. They don't have beer/wine/liquor yet, but the rest of the menu was in full effect. We tried the barbacoa tacos, the beef fajitas, and a special they described as being like Mexican lasagne. Walk the dishes were scored piping hot and super fresh! As with the original - the plates had delicious sauces - a trademark of the original. We finished with a slice of the lime cake - since they had sold out of the flan. The patio location was great, and we are looking forward to going back! Great to have another place in Healdsburg!

Last time we tried this place was when they first opened. We walked in and was greeted by friendly staff and was seated right away. My husband and I both ordered burritos and came out pretty quick, and it was made how we liked it. The place was pretty mellow and neat. This is a hidden gem in our small town.

Staff and food were fantastic! I ordered the chicken enchiladas and couldn't decide on which sauce I wanted, the server offered one of each. Chips were light and perfectly salted, and their salsa might be the best I've ever had. So unique, with so much flavor. Service was top notch!

Pozole I've had Pozole in many places in and around the Santa Rosa area. By far El Milagro is deserving of the 4 stars. Worth the jaunt to Cloverdale if you are a pozole fan. Otherwise the food was average. Service is good Ambience not so great

Sometimes I wish we could give bonus stars! We were drawn in by previous reviews and glad we stopped. The only disappointment was that not all previous specials were available. JK. We loved their chips and salsa - I really liked the mild spice and prefer that smoky tomato flavor. I had the Pollo La Crema - dang that was good!!! A fabulous sauce and perfect ratio of chicken, mushrooms, and pineapple. Yes, pineapple! Just perfect. The Hubbs had their nachos with beef and really liked the guacamole. Excellent service even though they were busy. It's a charming restaurant with a great patio. They have local brews and Vinos as well.

I don't mess around. Just order the special. It never disappoints. Today was taquitos dorados. Two chicken one potato. So freaking good!

We were driving on a road trip from SF to Fort Bragg and back, and found this while looking for restaurants along the way. Attracted by the rather high Yelp rating and decent number of reviews, we decided to try it. We tried their shrimp cocktail, guacamole, camarones rancheros, seafood fajitas, and El Milagro fajita mix. You would think something with their restaurant name on it means they have pride in it, and boy did they deliver! Everything we had was fresh, tasty, and filling! It was a nice way to end our road trip haha. Wonderful food, wonderful staff, wonderful restaurant name! I hope anyone who passes by this lovely restaurant gives it a try, especially if they are in the mood for Mexican cuisine!

We stopped here for lunch on the way up north and we were very happy with our meal! The place is decorated quite cute and there's a nice outside patio area as well. The bathroom is kept well stocked and nicely decorated. My son had the Baja fish tacos. They were excellent. They are deep fried, but not greasy and they were fried to crispy perfection. I just ordered a bean and cheese burrito with sour cream and guacamole to keep it simple and it was a very generous portion and hit the spot. Definitely recommend this restaurant while visiting or passing through Cloverdale !

The food here is so authentic. The tortillas look homemade, using the different types of corn. The tacos are generously heaped with meat, and the flavors are delicious. This restaurant is located in a historic building, "The Owl Cafe". That was confusing to us and we almost passed it. They have a great outdoor dining area in a large patio setting, as well as plenty of indoor dining space. The servers here were friendly and worked quickly to get our order and food. This place certainly deserves its 5 star rating.

First off, the place looks amazing. I used to go to this restaurant as a kid when it was the Owl Cafe. It's been about 20 yrs since I've been back and found that it was now a Mexican restaurant. We decided to go in and eat just for nostalgia purposes and boy am I glad we did. The street taco was amazing. The meat was tender and there was a nice amount of toppings with fresh lime slices. The special was a knock outta the park with caramelized onion, pickled onions, radishes and fresh made guacamole. The burrito bowl for me had a bland taste to it but my husband was digging it, so we swapped dishes The service was prompt and friendly and the music playing was not so loud that we needed to lean across the table to hear each other. Our server went over the gluten free substitutes for me and was patient as I made my decision. Oh! And the restroom was clean! We will go back when in the area for sure.

It was a good experience, with good food and OK service. There is a dedicated lot next to the stand alone building, so parking was easy. The open sign was on, but the ambiance appeared sleepy, so guessing that it gets a lot busier later in the day. There were two people working, and once we got the front-of-house's attention, were seated at a comfortable table for 4. Complementary chips and salsa were provided Reviews and self-proclamations clearly state that birria (beef) was worth getting, so my wife got the Quesadilla Birria ($13.99), and her mom got the Camarones al Ajillo (shrimp in garlic sauce $19.99). The menudo wasn't available, so I got the Pozole ($15.75) instead. They have cans and bottles of soda and beer, with a can of Coke being $2.50. Everything was good. The quesadilla was more like a grilled burrito (or chimichanga), and had been nicely crisped. My wife really enjoyed it. The shrimp plate came with rice and beans, which were OK, and choice of flour or corn tortilla (average). The large prawns were nicely cooked with a flavorful sauce. My pozole had good flavor without too much fat (the excess had obviously been skimmed) and was quite hot, though I wish it had more hominy and pork. My wife later found out that the meat used here is butchered on-site and that care is taken to remove excess fat. It really shows: all the meat dishes were not greasy and there wasn't the pools of fat that often accompany hastily prepared dishes. It was appreciated. Clover is the payment processor and there is a 3% fee for using a credit card.

There are some traditional items, but a lot of "tweener" food sitting between Mexican and American, while not, however, living in the space of the old fashions Mexican places of my youth that specialized in Americanized Mexican food. I have been here a lot, with mixed reviews. Today was not the best day, although some things were very good. Starting off, the chips were stale, which was sad because I remember them being pretty good. I have always found the salsas weird. There is a green salsa, that tastes herby and not at all like chile verde, there is a red salsa that is super mild, and an orange salsa that has a nice kick, and then there is some bean dip, which is never wrong. Our favorite thing is the shrimp in cream sauce and it is really good. Big shrimp and bathed in a delicious creamy sauce with mushrooms. I don't remember seeing this in a Mexican restaurant before but it works! The carnitas had good flavor but were tough and dry. I have had them here before when they were MUCH better, so I was disappointed. The worst was the chile relleno. Good chile rellenos use a Chile Poblano, stuffed with something (usually a white melty cheese, but could be piccadillo, or even a fish mixture (that's how my Sinaloan Grandmother made them sometimes). Then it is covered with a puffy egg mixture where the egg whites are supposed to be whipped up light, then the yolks with maybe a little flour blended in, the chile carefully covered with this then fried up in a pan. El Chicano's had no fluffy egg batter, the chile was right, but then it was covered in cheddar cheese that was cooked hard and covered with red sauce. I didn't care for it at all. The chile with the cheddar cheese was just a weird flavor and I missed the fluffy exterior of a traditional chile relleno. Service was ok. When we went to pay however, we found that they just ran the bill and didn't ask for a signature or a tip. Under the glass on the table is a handwritten note that said that tips had to be cash. So what a surprise! Luckily I had some cash on me so I could tip our server, but this is a terrible idea and I bet a lot of these waiters don't get tipped properly.
