We stopped at El Milagro for a late lunch on our way home from Anderson Valley. The restaurant was almost entirely empty, but it was an awkward time between lunch and dinner. We were seated in the large (dog-friendly) outdoor area near the entrance. I stuck with water, but my friends really liked the cocktails, including the Mango Margarita and Paloma. For food, I ordered the Enchiladas Special, which had chicken and salsa verde. This was just okay - the shredded chicken was pretty dry and served on the outside of the enchiladas, which I hadn't seen before. I also tried a bite of my friend's Carne Asada Quesadilla, which I liked more - still pretty standard though. The best item was the Guacamole with Esquites we ordered for the table - so fresh and tasty, and the corn kicked it up a notch. Service was friendly and fast! read more

We had an early dinner after doing at tour at Russian River Rail bikes. There is plenty of parking, which is convenient. We were warmly welcomed. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside in the shade and it was really nice. It has a relaxed atmosphere and we were given chips and salsa. I ordered the Ensalada El Milagro and it was delicious! All of the ingredients were so fresh and complimented each other well! The staff working here were so friendly, kind, and attentive. I also love that three locals own this together so when you dine here you know you are supporting a locally owned restaurant. I've eaten at the Healdsburg location several times. This was the first time I've been to the Cloverdale location and we love both locations. Such amazing and flavorful food! Highly recommend! read more

Tried the El Milagro in Healdsburg last weekend. Apparently they had only been open for four days! The new location was great, as was the service since they have moved several folks from the Coverdale spot down here to open the new restaurant. They don't have beer/wine/liquor yet, but the rest of the menu was in full effect. We tried the barbacoa tacos, the beef fajitas, and a special they described as being like Mexican lasagne. Walk the dishes were scored piping hot and super fresh! As with the original - the plates had delicious sauces - a trademark of the original. We finished with a slice of the lime cake - since they had sold out of the flan. The patio location was great, and we are looking forward to going back! Last time we tried this place was when they first opened. We walked in and was greeted by friendly staff and was seated right away. My sister and I have recently become locals to Cloverdale. We are both middle age, and have lived in Sonoma county our whole life. Both have worked in the food and hospitality business forever. With that said, Mexican food is our favorite, and happy to say we found our new favorite spot in Cloverdale! We'd even go as far to say, in Sonoma county! We were driving on a road trip from SF to Fort Bragg and back, and found this while looking for restaurants along the way. Attracted by the rather high Yelp rating and decent number of reviews, we decided to try it. We tried their shrimp cocktail, guacamole, camarones rancheros, seafood fajitas, and El Milagro fajita mix. You would think something with their restaurant name on it means they have pride in it, and boy did they deliver! Everything we had was fresh, tasty, and filling! It was a nice way to end our road trip haha. Wonderful food, wonderful staff, wonderful restaurant name! My family and I went here last for dinner and I had the best fish tacos I believe in my entire life. Fresh, full of flavor and their Michelada mix is always so good! The service is always good. We stopped here for lunch on the way up north and we were very happy with our meal! The place is decorated quite cute and there's a nice outside patio area as well. The bathroom is kept well stocked and nicely decorated. My son had the Baja fish tacos. They were excellent. They are deep fried, but not greasy and they were fried to crispy perfection. I just ordered a bean and cheese burrito with sour cream and guacamole to keep it simple and it was a very generous portion and hit the spot. The food here is so authentic. The tortillas look homemade, using the different types of corn. The tacos are generously heaped with meat, and the flavors are delicious. This restaurant is located in a historic building, "The Owl Cafe". That was confusing to us and we almost passed it. They have a great outdoor dining area in a large patio setting, as well as plenty of indoor dining space. The servers here were friendly and worked quickly to get our order and food. First off, the place looks amazing. I used to go to this restaurant as a kid when it was the Owl Cafe. It's been about 20 yrs since I've been back and found that it was now a Mexican restaurant. We decided to go in and eat just for nostalgia purposes and boy am I glad we did. The street taco was amazing. The meat was tender and there was a nice amount of toppings with fresh lime slices. The special was a knock outta the park with caramelized onion, pickled onions, radishes and fresh made guacamole. The burrito bowl for me had a bland taste to it but my husband was digging it, so we swapped dishes The service was prompt and friendly and the music playing was not so loud that we needed to lean across the table to hear each other. Been hearing a lot of good things about El Milagro and based on our recent dinner there, believe the hype! Cruised up 101 to a large parking lot next to the restaurant. Plenty of parking for busy nights. El Milagro has a very large and interesting menu, much more the the usual Mexican menu. Our server and the bar person were happy to give suggestions which were spot on. They serve cocktails with " reduced" alcohol content and my wife declared her Margarita a winner. We started with the Chunky Avocado dip full of fresh veggies, lime and chips. Tasty and excellent texture. For entrees DW had Shrimp Enchiladas, packed with shrimp, bell peppers, onions and came with their special sauce. Delicious!! I had Costillas de Puerco con Nopales, Pork ribs in a green tomatillo sauce with cactus. Recommended by our server and it was really good. This was under their Guisados section of the menu which are Mexican stews or braised dishes. Like I said earlier, lot of unique and tasty specialties. Both entrees came with rice and beans, nice flavor in both of them. El Milagro is a good sized restaurant and very clean. Service from the entire staff was excellent. We stopped by yesterday for an early dinner after a long and stressful day, and this restaurant almost couldn't have hit the spot any better! I had two very delicious strawberry margaritas, and I don't know if it was the empty stomach I had when I started drinking or the fact that I don't drink very often or if they just have a generous pour, but I was LIT when we left (I did not drive!) Chips & salsa were good, salsa wasn't spicy at all but tasted really nice and fresh. My friend and I also shared one of the tacos from the 'abuelita' menu called guisados-we had the green molé pipian and it was fantastic! For dinner I had the carnitas plate and was only disappointed that the carnitas itself was a little over cooked and dried out. The rest of the plate looked fantastic and tasted good, but after the margaritas and the appetizer and chips I was too full to take more than a couple of bites. My friend had the enchiladas and she ate every bite! A terrific spot in Cloverdale and I wish them good luck! read more

Lunch date at El Milagro didn't disappoint. We arrived early (just before Noon) and there were plenty of seats available. The server greeted us immediately and we were invited to sit wherever we wanted. The server came over with chips and salsa. Oh boy, the salsa is fantastic! You know those places that serve a watery, tomato based salsa that lacks any flavor? This is not that salsa- the perfect amount of spice, salt, and not too watery and not too dry. We ordered pineapple water to drink with turns out was the perfect compliment to the salsa. We ordered Mexican meatballs and steak fajitas. Service was quick! I mean really quick. Fajitas were sizzling hot and served with veggies, beans and rice. The meatballs were super flavorful and very moist and moist. Walk right past me when I raised my hand to ask for a glass of water. Took them 20 minutes to take the meal order. Barbara S. Got a green salad topped with roasted shrimp. She liked it. Adequate quality and quantity. My carnitas were dried out, tasted like it was cooked 3 days ago. Inedible. The guacamole was fresh and tasty. The pico de gallo was also good. Beans were milky white and smooth. Saffron rice was dried out. Asked for flour tortillas, gave me corn. They were the worst cardboard, flavorless tortillas. Better tortillas are available at the Dollar Tree store. Ive had waaaayyyyyy better carnitas at almost any other Mexican family owned restaurant from Boston to San Cristobal de las Casas. Oh, never got my requested glass of water. The Mexican Bodega across the street makes food to go. Ive eaten their chow a dozen times. Everything is delicious.
