Instead of just taking them, the employee told me I needed to carry everything over to another area near the trash cans. Obviously, walking another 10 feet isn't a big deal. What bothered me was that after tipping $3 and then going out of my way to bring everything back inside, the staff essentially couldn't be bothered to take the tray the last few feet themselves. It's a small thing, but it left a disappointing impression about the level of service relative to the tipping expectation.
