This diner is a delightful discovery! It is gratifying to experience someone execute their job to perfection, and the crew here did just that. We arrived at 11am on a Sunday, and despite a full house our wait for a table was less than 10 minutes. I asked if there was a wait list, and the hostess replied, "yes". When I asked if I could add my name to the list, she tapped her forehead and smiled, and said "no need...it's up here". True to her word, we were seated shortly thereafter. I'd guess it's a family run business, as all the staff looked like they could be related. The staff appeared to be a well-oiled machine and worked together well; each performing their roles with no wasted movements. Given how busy they were, it's impressive how attentive they were, and how quickly the food arrived. These folks are professionals, who know what they are doing. The menu is extensive (and full of foods you'd expect at a diner), and they serve breakfast all day.Since breakfast is my favorite meal, I knew I was in for a treat. I appreciated that they served Coke products (a pet peeve of mine is when restaurants serve only Pepsi products, which I detest). I ordered the Gyro Omelet, which was a unique take on breakfast foods that did not disappoint. The omelet was served with hash browns and toast (includes homemade strawberry rhubarb jam for the toast). My dining partner got Ze's Slam (pancakes, eggs, bacon, toast, hashbrowns ), and it was equally tasty. The food tasted like it was homemade, which is a quality I look for in restaurants. All of the plates of food coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic. The vibe of this diner is kitschy 50's diner, and it was fun. The waitstaff had T-shirts that had "WTF" in big bold letters on the back, and underneath it said "Where's The Food". That made me laugh. I look forward to my next meal here. read more

Stopped in Ze's diner on a trip to Minneapolis for a quick lunch. We were in town for a business meeting and had about 45 minutes to kill. We walked in and it was like being brought back in time. The feel of the place was great. We didn't expect too much on the food front as it was in the middle of a strip mall. I took a quick glance over the menu and orders the Juciy Suzy. This was the diners spin on the Juicy Lucy, made famous by some Minnesota staples. The only difference was this was stuffed with Cheddar instead of American cheese. The food came out quick as promised. Plating was basic but it was a burger and fries so what do you expect? Took my first bite and this burger was REALLY good. It was piping hot and cooked fresh. The toppings were crisp and fresh as well and the bun was held it all together perfectly. The fries seemed like everyday fries, i think they might have been under a warming light. So, I was in town for work, and I was still hungry after eating the hotel's breakfast. I looked on UberEats and saw this restaurant, checked out their menu and decided to give it a try! Honestly, I'm so glad I did! The French toast was AMAZING!! I didn't need the butter and hardly needed the syrup! It was the perfect amount of "Apple Fritter" added to this French toast and I have to order it the next time I come back! The Philly was great as well! I'm so glad they didn't put mushrooms on it, and the chicken was seasoned to perfection! The jalapeños were a nice touch as well! Sadly, I didn't get to try my cinnamon roll, but it looked amazing! always great service when i go there. the staff works well together and you are seated quickly, they get your order in fast and the food comes out even faster! the one downside is that it is pretty small and usually very packed, and there is no room inside to sit and wait for an open table. however, people are in and out pretty quick. the food has always been super good and they do change up the menu every once in a while. i would recommend checking it out if you want a fast and quality meal! read more

The Cajun Breakfast drew me in. I love Cajun food and this wasn't close. It would have been better if it had been hot. It was lukewarm and very average. Two eggs over easy on top of hashbrowns mixed with green peppers, mushrooms, onions and cheese smothered in Hollandaise sauce; finished with Cajun spice and served with toast The Caramel Salted Chocolate Cake was huge and had good flavor but it was very dry. Well it's been several years since we have been back thru town. We had to hang around till after middday so we remembered this place as being reallllllly good. Our waitress was like a hummingbird.. buzz buzz. I ordered the chicky fried steak with poached. Then I had to catch her attention to change my hash browns to fries instead.. voila! They are soo good. Matter of fact everything was great. Eggs perfect. I cut most of the white off so I can fit whole egg on a fork and put in da mouth for that egg explosion! Then I eat the white too of course. I love poached med eggs!! Love the freezer home made jams too. One raspberry one strawberry. I had one of each on my toast. It's funny tho that the strawberry jam looked just like the ketchup .. look at pix. Delish. Coffee steaming hot and strong. Bf wanted Lamb shank today ( what?? No salad). He sucked all the goodness off the bones. Came with mashed potatoes , carrots and two little bread sticks. He said those tastes like they were home made. I just don't get why you couldn't put cheese on my scrambled eggs, I know it was an online order but I said extra please and there was not one piece of cheese. I tipped you 15 dollars anticipating extra charges for "light onion, and extra cheese on the eggs" for an order that was only 26$. By the way the sausage patties have no flavor at all, I would recommend going with a different supplier. I was displaced from my home in hastings, so i was looking for new restaurants to try around my hotel. Me and my wife decided to try Ze's diner. Ill go through my thoughts exactly as i had them. Upon walking in and seeing the atmosphere, i smiled. It felt like a 50s diner all the way. But, it didnt feel gawdy and overdone. It was the perfect amount of 50s feel. We sat down at our booth and were attended to quickly. Ahmed, our server, was very attentive and even asked to make sure he wrote our order right before he put it in. We started with some chocolate malts and let me say, they are AMAZING. I love a good malt, and i feel like i havent had a malt this good in years. Then we got out order of cheese curds. Im not a big fan of cheese curds, but my wife is and she said they were great, along with the honey mustard provided. Then, it happened... we got our Juicy Suzy's (a juicy lucy with extra cheese), and my god was it delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly. A beautiful pink rare to medium rare. The fries were real fries, they tasted like they cut them fresh every day. To top it off, our server, Ahmed, was attentive, but not excessively so. He checked in after each item was tasted, but didnt hover around us. If you like burgers, you are doing a disservice to yourself if you dont come here. The service was awesome. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and the food came out quick, however that's when the experience went downhill. We started with cheese curds which were very clearly frozen supermarket stuff that came straight from a bag. Not a great start but hey they are more of a breakfast place so maybe this is just not their thing. My meal was the breakfast sandwich thing which consisted of an English muffin that was toasted but somehow still almost soggy. A folded egg that I can only assume was made from egg beaters because it did not taste like a real egg. Bacon which was pretty good and cooked very well. Then it was topped off with an unmelted Kraft single. I took the bacon off and ate that but didnt finish much of the sandwich its self because it was really not good. It also came with a side of oily hashbrowns that were ok if you covered them in salt and pepper. My wife got the Belgian waffle with sausage and eggs along with a side of toast. Her egg was real and cooked exactly how she ordered it so no complaints on that. The sausage didnt get eaten and neither did most of the waffle or toast because none of it was very good. She did get a chai tea that she enjoyed though. All in all we spent about $50 to leave hungry because neither of us enjoyed the meal enough to finish eating it. While the staff was great the food means we will not be returning, and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Gotta say I was impressed. Walking in it reminded me of the Cahill diner. Found out later- same place. I see why it was similar. They have breakfast all day and they absolutely know how to do it. The food was good, the service was very friendly and the place was relaxing. If you like the era of Elvis- this is the place for you! I WILL be back and am looking forward to it. I think the next time I go here I will try a cajun breakfast or the tex mex. Today I got the O my gosh which was hash browns- two eggs any stile and a piece of toast.
