At this point I think I've tried every boba/milk tea restaurant in the downtown Boston area, so I was excited to hear that a new place popped up recently. I wanted to try something new, so I ordered their "Thai Me Up" drink, which was essentially just Thai milk tea with crushed Oreo and cream inside. It sounded and looked great! The staff were also quick and efficient with getting the drinks delivered, which was nice, given how busy it was on a Sunday night. My low rating is almost purely just due to the taste and price of the drink. I know milk tea is expensive in this area, but I just feel like this was not worth the price for me. The Thai milk tea by itself was fine, but the crushed oreo and cream (which eventually disintegrated inside the drink) just left a weird aftertaste, so much so I couldn't even finish the drink myself. I'm sure they have other drink options with better flavor combinations, but I definitely wouldn't order this particular one again. read more

Drinks (1/2): Have always ordered their "Two Grapeful". Definitely not the usual when compared to other boba shops in Newbury. I like it. Cheese-foam is rather weak but has enough in it for flavor. Grape jelly is nice but other than that not much to talk about with respect to their "tea quality". Nice overall and especially refreshing in the summer. Their pastries are quite lackluster but decent enough to fill your empty stomach--I should've known. Service/wait-time (1.5/2): Service is usually swift once they notice you but getting them to notice you can be somewhat variable. Place is small and tends to be overcrowded--never had the luck to actually find any seating inside. Price (0.5/1): Since it's in Newbury, it's rather expensive but overall, I think it's decently-priced. read more

New boba shop located on Newbury. Honestly speaking, Newbury Street does not need any more boba shops. But Zero& really exceeded my expectations. I was a little upset that they didn't have the drink that I wanted to try as they were sold out for the day (at around 4/5pm?!). I wanted to try the matcha tornado since I took a sip of my boyfriend's drink when he got it with his friends. Ordering is very simple so service moves pretty fast. My friend got the coconut drink with the low sugar option and I got the mango pomelo drink. Both of our drinks were very refreshing and definitely something I could keep coming back here during the summer. The ambiance is super casual but the wait times seemed absurd. We waited about 15-20 minutes for our drinks, but granted we did come here on a weekend and they were also making online orders as well. They offer a sit down area and they also have small cake boxes that you can order. Again, the ones I would have wanted to try were sold out. Only reason why I'm giving this place a 4/5 stars is that there were a lot of items that were sold out and it was not even close to closing. But overall, I would come back. read more

A bit overly hyped in my opinion. The flagship coconut zero is just ok - coconut flavor is not that strong, too much coconut jelly but not really coconut meat, not as good as some others in the area (won't name the store name here, but happy to point you to the best coconut slush location!). The two grape is a still pretty sweet even with less sugar, and the milk foam tastes a bit weird. Coco mango may be the best among those I tried, but not impressed in a way that you can't get similar thing else where. read more

Placed an order and paid for it. The receipt comes with: 4 orders and 14 drinks in front of you. Estimated time 28-33 min. One tired girl making drinks. Are you kidding? That's crazy. I couldn't wait that long. I work on Newbury. Thirty minutes and $20 for two drinks? Refund me and we will visit again. Order 6795 Thanks for responding Pei J. You didn't refund for drinks I never received. What working person can wait for 30 mins for two drinks? Don't worry. I won't be back. Neither will my team. read more

Overall rating: 3 Stars New boba spot on Newbury that offers sugar free options Food: bob croissants, and hanabi cakes cakes Texture: we got the coconut zero, Two Grapeful, and Thai me Up Pricing: Boba Teas ranged from $6-7 base increased to more for add-ons such as more boba or other toppings Ambiance: The ambiance is white with black accents for the curtains and the edges of the display case Seating & Parking: not much seating and forget about parking since it's on Newbury st. Service: straight forward nothing insanely amazing but not rude either Music: k pop and pop Final comments: new boba spot in Boston but I prefer other spots read more

They specialize in many unique, complex boba drinks so a bit of a higher cost than other boba cafes in the area. The cafe has a clean, modern, and futuristic aesthetic. While it seems like there's a lot going on with the drink, all the layers of the drink blended very well together. This was a good drink, and I will visit again when crave a bit more complexity with my boba. read more

Ordered on the app because of the free drink deal (had to pay for the boba topping). I previously had the Zero& in SF, CA, and wanted to try the new location in Boston. Based on my experience with the SF location, I was not expecting a good drink already and I was right lol. I like that the ingredients are all real and fresh, but the drinks are not good. The boba itself was not sweet. read more

Zero& is replacing April 23, right under the dirty water dough company on Newberry Street. The name says it all, they use zero calorie sweetener in all their drinks. I ordered online on a Sunday afternoon when it surprisingly wasn't busy. It took about half an hour for my order to be ready for pickup. I ordered Ube taro with boba and pink guava Oasis. The cups are very sturdy and have peel open lids like the ones you'd find eating yogurt. The Ube taro was good with small bits of taro that went well with the chewy boba. The guava was slightly tart and not too sweet. They also sell small cakes and pastries (croissants & sweet bread) that I'd like to try next time. On their cups they have scratch off codes for you to enter in their app for coupons and deals for next time. You also get a free drink when you download and order through the app. There are only a few tables, so think of this as more of a take out place. Overall, a nice addition to newbury Street. read more

Y'all, this place is popping (read: long lines). One time I came, and the two drinks I wanted had sold out and it was only early afternoon. Another time, I came when it opened and the boba wasn't cooked yet so that seemed like an oversight. The plus side is that the drinks ARE good and so is the service. The staff are super nice and the place feels clean and it has a bathroom. Yi Fang is across the street, which I also love. They are both great boba shops, just with different "specialteas" heh read more

My go to bubble tea drink is always the classic milk tea but this cafe didn't have it. It was a sign to try something different and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the matcha tornado which is essentially a matcha milkshake with Oreo crunches. It was pretty sweet and filling, and there was only one size (large, $7.75). After taxes it was $9.08. Since the cafe is located on Newbury St, it's a little pricier, but definitely worth it! Overall rating: 10/10 read more

The mango and coconut drink was good but wasn't WOW. I think overall it met expectations. The interior was nice and modern. I would come back to try their other drinks and desserts! read more

ZERO& - Newbury - a person holding a cup of orange juice - Bubble Tea Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

I went on a Thursday around 5pm. There was no line, so I ordered everything from the kiosk, which is convenient. However, the two employees standing at the front did not bother to give any greetings of "hello" or "welcome to ..." I got the Thai drink that had Oreos in it. I ordered it with extra Oreos. I barely tasted any Oreos in it. The Thai drink itself is nothing special. It tasted like any other Thai drink you can get anywhere else. I got one of their mini cakes and i really enjoyed the taste of that. Though the cream left a weird thin residue film on the roof of my tongue. The round bread with cheese in it was my favorite. Tasted savory and sweet. Lots of oozing melted cheese, which I loved. However, their croissants with the ham and cheese tasted and looked very underwhelming. read more

From the outside and in, the place is very neat and simple! We were intrigued by the concept of zero sugar drinks and curious if the drinks would taste good (I have a sweet tooth but I hate drinks that are too sugary). I got the pink guava and it was SO good! It wasn't too sweet and it tasted like natural fruit which is wild. The lychee was also really good and it tasted like the actual fruit. The prices are on the higher end but I think that it is worth to at least try it once. I think that the drinks are refreshing after a salty meal or a hot day. The drinks also came out fast. The place is small and had a few seats/tables so it would be more of a take out place. I would get it again! read more

I ordered the pink guava oasis with boba (less sweet and less ice). It tasted very standard and exactly as advertised - jasmine green tea with a hint of guava. The boba was a good consistency. If I'm in the area, I would try their other flavors but would not go out of my way to get it read more

Good vibes overall. Boba tea was refreshing! I like how they use real fruit and it's a healthy option for boba.

This place is GOOD. Thought this would be like any other boba shop on the street, but the drinks were actually delicious and I love how they don't taste grossly sweet. Since it just opened up, it can get pretty busy but I definitely recommend trying the drinks and pastries they have. read more

Nice drinks. Used to be packed but utilize their online order, it's helpful. They usually forget my pastry order when i order online but their drinks are package nicely and secured. Another boba shop on Newbury. The lines were crazy once it first opened, and the desserts go first. I would recommend ordering online well before you get there. If you wait in person, the line is unmanaged and not clear. Then you order on a tablet at the front and wait for over an hour before they call your number. read more

The waits forever, I'm literally staring at the wall for 10/15 minutes, trying to awkwardly not seem awkward lol. Worker was decent, clearly tired, drinks were ok. read more

I was craving a smoothie/ juice drink while shopping and luckily stumbled upon this new shop! I ordered the Matcha Tornado with less sugar and boba. It took about 15 minutes to just order then another 25 minutes to get the drink. Unfortunately, the boba was forgotten when the drink was made. But the taste of the actual drink was amazing!! It was basically a milkshake, in my opinion- which I am not mad about. Would come again if I was on Newbury street. read more

The wait after you order is close to an hour which no one tells you BEFORE you order. Vibe inside is not nice. Bright lights, dirty floors and a few tables in front of a black curtain. Boba tastes like boba. Limited flavors and the clear favorite, ube taro, was sold out - again, something you don't know until you wait in line to get in the door. They also don't prioritize the orders for people waiting in the store over online orders. It's a miserable experience. read more

Despite the lengthy queue, waiting for this drink seems worth it because it's truly exceptional.

I ordered the Pink Guava Oasis, matcha boba, and calorie free sugar. The tea itself was OK, but nothing worth spending 10.00 on. The matcha boba was slippery and underdone, and an unpleasant experience. The staff often got orders wrong, and had to remake drink after drink. Because of this, it took over 25 minutes to get a single drink during NON rush hour. I was super excited that this shop has diet friendly options, but wouldn't return here unless the service and quality improves. read more

the guava tea is amazing!! great location and the staff was so nice. thank you

The drinks are well made and tasty however the service was poorly managed and extremely slow. It took me ~40 mins from the time I placed my order on the one working self-serve tablet (out of 2) to get my drinks. All the employees were focused on completing the orders rather than delineating someone to alleviate the growing line of incoming customers. It was a Saturday afternoon and the service was so poorly managed that the store was packed with customers waiting for their orders. Apparently this is a recurring problem as I found out when speaking with friends who also has similar experiences. I saw a customer who had to return her korean cheese bread because the cheese was still frozen. Will I go back? Maybe - honestly the drinks were not bad but I have to be mentally and physically prepared for THE wait if I ever decide to go again. read more

Best tea shop in Boston area. Super busy on the last friday. The staff is kind and there are plenty of tables for guests. I ordered a Coco mango and it was the best drink I've ever had. This drink is similar to a smoothie, with a nice sweetness. I will definitely recommend it to my friends. read more

Amazing drinks amazing choices and great location! Love their packaging too so definitely will visit again!

This place made one of the nastiest boba drinks I've ever tasted. There is a reason why I have never heard of this place even though they have locations on the west coast where boba is really popular. It's because there are so many better options. The first problem was that they ran out of their only milk tea option. How do you run out of the most classic and popular drink at a boba shop?? I had to drink something else because I had hopes that this place would taste good. The next problem is their boba. It was so starchy and it tasted like the pre bought instant boba that you get from Chinese supermarkets for $3 a pack. It was so nasty and did not taste like good boba at all. I have no idea why there is always such a long line to buy a drink from this place because it was so nasty. I will never come back to this location and you shouldn't either. The price for the drink is not worth the nasty taste you get in your mouth. read more
