I genuinely wanted to like this salon because my nail technician, Marie, does an excellent job. She is detail-oriented, takes her time, and consistently provides quality service. However, the overall customer experience has been disappointing. While the quality of the service is important, the way customers are treated and the atmosphere of the salon matter just as much. Customers should feel welcomed, respected, and comfortable when they are paying for a service. Unfortunately, the overall energy during my visits has felt heavy, divisive, and negative. Running a successful business requires not only technical skills but also strong communication, professionalism, and interpersonal skills. Wished I had taken more pictures, but this is one of my favorite nail salons! The decor is so cute and aesthetically appealing. The polishes they have are so cute and I love their punny names! The staff are all friendly and all pay attention to detail when it comes to nail art. Sing Sing is usually my "go-to" nail tech and she somehow always manages to get my nails to last long! I can't decide how I feel about this nail salon. Weird, I know. It is a very small shop and by appointment only. When I called they were able to schedule us for the next morning, which worked for our schedule. When we got there the male tech was going to take my husband and I would have the female tech. The woman in charge switched them on us right before they started and gave me the male tech that apparently is not good with doing polish...? Odd. You sit on a raised platform which puts your feet right in their faces, great for the techs to see what they were doing without having to bend over much. Unfortunately, the chairs were uncomfortable. You put your feet in a sink with a piece of wood on top that moved, which doesn't allow you put weight on it, so you can't fully relax. Both techs were gentle. Mine was super gentle and felt like this was his first week of doing nails. My husband said his tech was meticulous. My tech was super nice but I don't feel like he did much in the way of cuticle work. The massages were short but really nice. My tech made sure to massage all the muscles in my feet. He started to paint my toes and you could tell he was uncomfortable doing it, so when the woman doing my husbands pedicure was done she took over for him. Unfortunately, I'm not sure the price was worth the service. Two pedicures with tip was $95. read more

Found Sing completely randomly maybe 7yrs ago when she was renting a space in the back of a barber shop in La Mesa. I am ridiculously picky and was really frustrated by all of the 'pump and dump' nail salons out there. I may have just made up that term but most places do a super half-assed job in express mode. Well, I work with my hands and whatever I pay for a manicure...it needs to last. I was ecstatic to connect with Sing. Her level of detail was/is unparalleled. At the time I was only tending to my nails very sporadically. When I called to schedule an appointment I learned that she had opened her own place in Spring Valley. It's a farther drive for me but 100% worth it. Since finding Sing I will not go to any other studio regardless of price or convenience of location. I saw this new establishment while I was driving around in the area and decided to call and see if there was any availability. I lucked out. Billy and Sing Sing took care of me. An incredibly cute, intimate, serene little shop unexpectedly nestled away in the Spring Valley/Rancho San Diego area. They were gracious enough to fit me in for a same day/last minute appointment. My nail technician Marie did an immaculate and thorough pampered pedicure & paraffin service that I was able to really relax and soak myself into! I absolutely LOVE the length and shape of my toes (nails), as well as the pristine nail painting job she did. What a nice surprise to be out of town and find such a wonderful nail salon! I unexpectedly came into town to help my dad with a house fire. My poor toes/feet were exposed to all sorts of things since I only had sandals to wear as I had to work with insurance adjusters and clean-up crews. My toes were an absolute mess, and I couldn't take it another day. I did a pedicure and really appreciated the quality of service and the attention to detail. Five stars for the service. I am so happy with my gel manicure by Marie. I don't often visit nail salons because I'm picky and usually disappointed at the results. But this time my nails are perfection and I will definitely visit again. If I was only rating the overall vibe I would only give two stars, which is 100% based on the overly loud female pop/r&b vocals playing the entire time (except when interrupted by notifications on whatever phone was connected to the single low quality speaker). It was totally annoying and detracted from the otherwise fantastic service and ruined the more elevated experience they seem to by trying to accomplish with the cute decor. IMO salon music needs to stay in the background as not everyone likes the same things. read more

They normal do appointments only. I called as a long shot hoping for something same day. I Spoke to Sing(the owner at 10 when they opened) and to my surprise she checked the schedule and called me right back to have a nail tech come in sooner and was able to see us at 10:45. Everyone was so nice and sweet. I LOVED the vibe and it felt welcoming and relaxing. I thought it was so cool how the pedicure seats sit higher up so the nail techs aren't bending over and hurting their backs. Great design!! They took the best care with my daughter and were so patient and gentle. I can't wait to go back. And I will definitely refer my friends. Highly recommend this nail lounge! The shop is super clean, has friendly nail techs, plays great music & gives me paradise vibes! So many different polish colors to choose from. Note - appointments are required. Sing Sing gave my daughter her first mani & made it a memorable experience for our first mommy & daughter mani date. She was so patient with her. (She was also able to convince my daughter to pick another color - I was not a fan of the neon green she originally chose lmao). My daughter has been begging to go back so we booked another appt! I love coming to Zen Zen to see Sing. She is truly the best. I have been with Sing for almost 2 years now. I do not mind driving almost 20 mins to get my gel mani done by her. I've been to other salons and the gel only lasts two weeks or less but with Sing they last for a month!! A month!!! I love the vibe here. I've been seeing Sing since she worked in La Mesa. Even though I live far from her new place, I still make the trip out here every month because there is no one better! She is so sweet, always takes her time, and does a meticulous job. I always get a gel manicure on my natural nails (with or without designs) and she always takes the polish all the way to my cuticles without leaving any gaps, she cleans my cuticles up perfectly (even uses her little drill to bzzz bzzz my cuticles carefully), and my manicure always lasts 4 weeks (until I see her again). She took the time to soak off my gel that was on my nails from the previous place I went to (that was a whole process in itself). My nails were in pretty rough shape due to the quality of the manicure that was done a couple weeks ago (not by anyone in this shop).
