I have been coming to this salon for 26 years and yes, they get busy but they also do their best to accommodate your schedule...when you make an appointment you MAY have to wait a few minutes to be seen but it's worth it! Walked in without an appointment needing a gel mani and asked about the wait time. I was told "a few minutes," which I usually figure is around 10 to 15. I totally understand that scheduled clients come first, and I didn't mind waiting since I didn't have an appointment. I do mind the miscalculation of time. ​At least three people with appointments walked in while I waited. The manager mentioned needing to start them, and asked for another 10 minutes. Every time she acknowledged me after that, she just added more time to the clock, said "thank you for waiting," and kept me sitting. I ended up waiting 54 minutes before finally getting into a chair. I really wish nail salons would just be upfront and say, "We can't take you right now," or give you a realistic time to come back. ​Once I was seated, the process didn't get much better. To remove my old gel, they insisted on soaking my hands directly in a bowl of acetone. When I asked about using cotton and foil instead, I was told this was faster. After 15 minutes in cold acetone, I just pulled my hands out. It felt like a tactic to stall while waiting for an available tech. ​During the service, there was too much filing, and I had to speak up because it was actually hurting my nail beds. The cure light burned, too. ​The space itself is comfortable enough, but it's not a luxury salon compared to other places I've been. They do have a really nice selection of colors and display nails to view. My color turned out pretty initially, but my gel manicure didn't even last a full week before peeling, and my nails ended up breaking down super short. ​It is a fairly inexpensive salon for anyone wanting budget friendly. I assume the appointments were returning customers based on the welcome in reactions. The effective communication and quality just weren't there for me so I won't be back. read more

I called and they said they could take me right away. I waited a few minutes, but once she was ready she was so efficient and great! I had a picture of what I wanted- like a white chrome gel manicure. She figured it out and executed perfectly! $39 seems like a good price too. I'll be back when I'm back in town! Great pedicures. Better and longer than average massage, take their time, and a ton of colors to pick from. They get pretty busy on weekends so I always call ahead. The one time I didn't on a Saturday I was tuned away. Older building so it's pretty warm in there in the summer time. Have had eyebrows done here and they were pretty good. I would not recommend acrylic nails here. Parking can be a bit tough to get close being that they share with so many businesses. They charge $1.00 if you pay with card. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I initially went in asking for builder gel nails. I was assured that they were knowledgeable enough to provide such a service in a precise, clean, presentable manner. After all, when you are paying for an expensive service, you expect to be happy with their work, especially if it is promised to you. Not only was the technician not fully knowledgeable of how to execute builder gel nails, but I at least expected the bare minimum for a manicure which should include softening and trimming the cuticles to create a smooth base for whatever product is going to be applied on the nail. After my service was complete on my nails, they were lumpy, uneven and all over my cuticles. I asked politely several times for them to be fixed. My technician did the bare minimum to fix these atrocious nails and honestly I did not feel comfortable even leaving the salon with them looking the way they did. Then it came to my pedicure. Although the other technician who was doing my pedicure did a great job cleaning up my cuticles, the nail polish was uneven in color and very streaky. I proceeded to tell her that I was unhappy with the outcome of my toes (3x to be exact) and she also did nothing about it. I normally would have stayed and had the issues fixed but I had to leave and go pick up my children from school. I returned the very next morning and asked for everything to be removed and for a full refund for my nails. I was willing to meet them in the middle and only pay for part of the pedicure, but I did not feel comfortable paying for the entire pedicure, seeing how the polish on my toes was sloppy. The owner refunded me for my nails, but argued with me in the middle of her salon, full of at least seven other clients. Once she realized I was not leaving without a partial refund for the pedicure, she said, and I quote, "I don't even care! Here is your money and get the f*** out of my salon!" Yes, she used profanity towards me in front of an entire salon, including staff and customers. She also told me to never come back again. After the experience I had at Avocado Nails, I will never return. Not only do they lack immensely in customer service, but they are not professionals nor do they do a professional job. Yes, their prices are cheap compared to other salons, but you get what you pay for. Not to mention the salon was absolutely filthy! Ladies, beware because I doubt they are disinfecting as they should. Lesson learned! read more

Two stars for the guy that does incredible pedicures. But this is the second time I had my nails done with disappointment. First time I got gels and they literally peeled off that night doing dishes. The pictures here are the second day of my acrylic with gel overlay. I was cutting an apple and as the nail dug into my hand it popped right off. Come on! I can buy press on nails at the grocery store. Not to mention they just looked awful. They're wavy, horrible paint job and well you be the judge. The lady who was doing the manicure was not experienced at all, the polish was old it was wrinkling under the light, and the owner was extremely rude about everything! Very dirty!!! COCKROACHES crawling on the walls and chairs. This place is so filthy you can literally see the dirt on all surfaces. The bathroom is worse than a truck stop/ gas station. For some time I over looked the dirty just out of convenience and the salons location, but I draw the line at roaches. I walked out the last time I was there and went around the corner to a lovely salon and let me tell you I had no idea what I was missing out on for the same price!!!! I have quality acrylics now, what I used to get from avocado nails was crooked tips and lumpy acrylics. I never saw any one at avocado nails clean tools between clients. They just toss the items in a tin that is labeled "clean" and use it again and again. There is literally only one nice thing I can say and that's that the ladies are lovely, however that doesn't go far when you make an appointment and show up on time to have to wait 30 min to 1 hour! I stayed way longer than I should have and overlooked far too much.
