Although the lady who did my nails was super nice, and service was good. My nails do not look as good. Inside is dark so you can't see and once you go outside you can. The place wear my nail is shows above my tips. If you go here I recommend that you ask them to hold on and step outside and look at your nails before agreeing. Glue was left on my fingers needing me to peel them off and the shape of each nail is not identical to the opposite hand.

This was my first and last time at this nail salon. The guy who did my manicure was not friendly and seemed eager to hurry and finish my nails. He rushed the entire process and my nails look terrible. The one nice thing about the nail salon was the woman who did my pedicure. She was friendly and didn't rush at all. I will not be going here ever again. The quality was terrible.

Ok, I have been coming here on and off since the 90's. Ann has recently taken over this salon and the place is getting an uplift. It has always been extremely clean, but the paint etc is a welcome change.and let me just say the the Ann is a gem. I am pretty darned picky and she is by far the best I have ever encountered and I am in my late 40's. My daughter comes here as well for Stiletto nails and they do a great job. I highly recommend that you check them out, you will not be disappointed.

Very nice people who work here. But there is a HUGE lack of cleanliness...when I went to get my eyebrows waxed, the bed I laid on was full of someone's makeup where my head goes and had either dead skin or something on it (like old people skin flakes) (sorry for the visual). But it was NOT CLEAN AT ALL, the sheets do not seem to be changed within clients, and when I got my pedicure I was scared I was gonna get cut by by the cuticle cutter bc the lady attending me although she was very nice, she was not doing a good job. I tried this place out, but there are def other places that deliver better quality. I feel bad to leave this review bc they are nice. read more

Don't go here. The lady did nothing that I asked for, wrong shape and one of my nails was crooked. She did nothing to even fix it. Also my nails are all different lengths and shapes. The price wasn't bad, I only payed 27$ for a full set but just remember you get what you pay for. read more

I'm a little reluctant to write this review because I don't know if I want to share my new found gem. Have you been on a far-too-long quest to find that amazing (or as close to it as possible) nail shop? Well, the buck stops here. For me anyway. I can't tell you how BLISSFUL I am to have found this place. Ann and her entire staff are so courteous and professional. Not only that, the prices here are extremely affordable, and so worth it. Ann is awesome at making you feel comfortable and treating your nails with care and perfection. She has been in the business for many years, but she just recently made the move to El Cajon to open up her own shop. I am so grateful that she did. I swear, I can hardly believe I am finally done searching for my nail heaven. My perseverance has paid off and I have finally found it. Do yourselves a favor and try this place out. I walked into Valley Nail Place and I was glad to find them. They were extremely welcoming and also were able to accommodate me without an appointment. Ann was very nice and comforting. I broke a nail and needed it repaired ASAP. Ann was great she repaired my nail and also did a great job on my gel manicure. I'm very hesitant to try new places especially with my nails. I recommend Ann she has lots of experience and does not make getting your nails done uncomfortable at all ( if you know what I mean). I def will come back :) read more

Hadn't had my nails done since my wedding in 1992! They started breaking off before my second reception just a week later. I decided to do my own thing until 2015! Ann gave me a coupon while Tan was doing my hair next door (great colorist). I relented and was pleasantly surprised. Now I'm a regular (Ann only). read more

I always come here to get shellac/gel on my nails. Everyone is very nice here and professional. Also, it is extremely affordable- gel is only $22 compared to almost everywhere else where it is at least $30. I highly recommend this place! read more

I found this place based on the yelp reviews & I was very pleased. The shop was clean and all of the staff were very kind & professional. They took my daughter & I right away. We both got gel pedicures & our nails filled with pink & white acrylic. Ann did both of our nails & she took her time & did a great job. Our toes turned out great as well. The prices were extremely affordable as well. I would highly recommend & we will return. read more

Ann is amazing, I have been coming here for the past 1.5 years and I refuse to go anywhere else to get my nails done, she is truly the best I have ever experienced, and I have been getting my nails done for the past over 10 years but this place is truly the best i ever found, so glad I did. now even if I travel I just wait to see Ann, I do not go to anyone else. I absolutely love Ms Anne! She is so dedicated to her customers and she has amazing attention to detail. I have been coming here for a long time now and I won't be going anywhere else. I come in regularly for gel fills and pedicures. The prices are on point and the quality of work is superb. The salon is very clean, cute, and everyone is super friendly. I only went to this place because I heard good reviews as well as it's the closest to my home. So I walked in having high hopes, and I even brought up a reference picture. After checking in for my appointment for a gel-x fill, I went to go see my nail tech and I went to say hello but she didn't say hello back. Whatever. So then I showed her my reference photo and I want all white. Now I understand if I couldn't see the flowers if it's the same white nail color, which is why she suggested a different color that I didn't even ask. Not even like a white purple/blue color just so we can see the flowers better. Also, I know I should've spoken up more, which I had three times that I want to be a classic white French tip with daisies. But she insisted on using a shade of purple that I didn't even ask for. But not only that, but I feel like she couldn't speak English fluently because half of the time she was speaking to me in full Vietnamese, which I had a hard time communicating. I honestly felt a bit peer pressure to have a nail design that I didn't exactly ask for and that's what I'm very disappointed in. When my nails were done, she then prompted me to go wash my hands, but never told me where it's at or didn't even point where the sink was so I had to ask another employee to find the sink. Now I don't mind the nails design itself if it was done better, even though I have spent $65 on it and honestly during the whole appointment I kind of felt uncomfortable even though I did speak up, but just not enough then I should have, but it also doesn't look like the picture I wanted it. I'm pretty disappointed with my appointment and I will not be coming back unless I have another nail tech who I'm pretty sure will do my nails more nicely design wise. This is why communication is very important during any nail appointment and I thought I have communicated my needs, but I guess it wasn't enough to the point where I was peer pressured to do a nail design that I don't even want.

My friend kept saying she did NOT want gel, and was being pretty strongly harassed about how she should get gel. The worker said that gel was better for her, that she had ridges in her toenails and that regular polish wouldn't look good.. my friend said her podiatrist told her not to get gel anymore due to an allergic reaction, and the nail tech said 'no you're wrong regular polish will give you a reaction'. Then finally right before applying the polish said 'I'm going to give you gel, ok?" I had to step in and be like 'shes not getting gel, and if you put gel on her we're not paying for it'. It was so awkward. 4. The guy that was painting my pink and white toes kept getting the pink color on the white tip, and I had to ask him to clean it up, and he was getting visibly frustrated. One woman had to translate for him and she even apologized to me, and had to show him how to do it. This man has done my toes before without issue, so seemed to be a really bad day for everyone there. Awkward. Again.

I only went to this place because I heard good reviews as well as it's the closest to my home. So I walked in having high hopes, and I even brought up a reference picture. After checking in for my appointment for a gel-x fill, I went to go see my nail tech and I went to say hello but she didn't say hello back. Whatever. So then I showed her my reference photo and I want all white. Now I understand if I couldn't see the flowers if it's the same white nail color, which is why she suggested a different color that I didn't even ask. Not even like a white purple/blue color just so we can see the flowers better. Also, I know I should've spoken up more, which I had three times that I want to be a classic white French tip with daisies. But she insisted on using a shade of purple that I didn't even ask for. But not only that, but I feel like she couldn't speak English fluently because half of the time she was speaking to me in full Vietnamese, which I had a hard time communicating. I honestly felt a bit peer pressure to have a nail design that I didn't exactly ask for and that's what I'm very disappointed in. When my nails were done, she then prompted me to go wash my hands, but never told me where it's at or didn't even point where the sink was so I had to ask another employee to find the sink. Now I don't mind the nails design itself if it was done better, even though I have spent $65 on it and honestly during the whole appointment I kind of felt uncomfortable even though I did speak up, but just not enough then I should have, but it also doesn't look like the picture I wanted it. I'm pretty disappointed with my appointment and I will not be coming back unless I have another nail tech who I'm pretty sure will do my nails more nicely design wise. This is why communication is very important during any nail appointment and I thought I have communicated my needs, but I guess it wasn't enough to the point where I was peer pressured to do a nail design that I don't even want.

Santee Nails also doesn't play this weird new-gen game of charging you for every little thing under the sun. The photos attached are only a couple out of, like I said, about a decade's worth of nail sets (and don't even include all of the pedicures done by Twin - AN ABSOLUTE SUPERSTAR!). The salon as a whole is always clean, bright, and something fun to watch. Even after she left for college and then came back, her Mom continued to do my nails and continued the same fabulous work. I recently moved out of town and refuse to see someone new, and will be back when I'm visiting again.
