Typically, my mani and pedi are done simultaneously by two different ladies. However, I noticed that only one lady was working on me while 4 others just paced around and chatted with each other. At first I thought they might have other clients with appointments coming in soon, but nearly an hour passed and they were still not attending other customers. What could have been a 40 minute visit took twice as long. $65 also felt excessive for regular polish, I've gotten gel polish for that amount at other salons. Customer service was also meh - she seemed annoyed when I asked to swap out the color after testing it on one nail and didn't recommend any additional services like at other salons. What was even more frustrating was that by the evening three of my nails were already chipped! Will not be returning, don't recommend!

She's in her 60s and she looks like she was only in her 40s after her hair was done. Very disappointed with my experience at Serenity Nail and Spa in La Mesa. I had a 12:15 p.m…read more appointment on September 3, the day before a friend's wedding, and unfortunately my manicure was already ruined within minutes of leaving the salon. I was the only client there, yet my service felt extremely rushed. My nail technician used a fan to dry my nails and then had me pay while they were still wet. While paying, one of my nails smeared and had to be redone. She fixed that finger, told me to "be careful" and make sure my nails dried, and then sent me on my way. I walked about five minutes home. By the time I simply entered my house, my thumb and another finger were badly smudged and ruined. I wasn't doing anything strenuous--I literally walked home and opened my front door. I understand that regular polish takes time to dry, but for the price of a professional manicure, I expect the salon to allow enough drying time before having me pay and leave. If a nail had already smeared before I even left the salon, that should have been an indication that they weren't ready. The most frustrating part is that I specifically scheduled this manicure because I have a wedding to attend tomorrow. Instead of having professionally finished nails for the event, I'm now having to fix them myself at home. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. Based on my experience and how quickly my manicure was ruined, I would not recommend Serenity Nail and Spa if you need your nails done for an important event.
