We drove 12 miles away to try the food here based on a bunch of good reviews.. It was Sunday afternoon and the place was busy. The sign said please wait to be seated. We were waiting and waiting, we even passed by a waiter but he didn't say anything, just a smile. We came to the cashier area but no one there. Nobody greeted us, nobody talked to us....so yeah...we decided not to eat somewhere else. read more

Overal, everyone in our group had extremely poor dining experience. I wish there was something positive I could say about our dinner - but there truly wasn't anything good First - the food. It was poorly seasoned (everything had too much salt, and lacking the depth of other flavors you'd expect with Thai food). And most of the food appeared to be store-bought frozen foods. (Orange chicken looked a lot like chicken McNuggets). And the shrimp rolls appetizer had the least amount of shrimp possible (one tiny piece of shrimp buried in a large amour of rice). Second - and worse than the food - was the service. So many issues: waited 15 mins for a server to stop by and welcome us and offer even a glass of water; then, we had to call the waiter over to place our order. After receiving our appetizers, the waiter almost instantly brought an entree, which we asked them to take back until we finished our apps. When we were ready for our entrees, they just left all the appetizers plates and serving dishes piled on our table. But, perhaps the biggest (of many) issues was that they brought entrees for 3 of us, but two of us didn't get our entrees. After waiting more than ten minutes (we had to find our waitress - she never checked on us) to ask about our missing entrees. 10 minutes later, she returned with one of the two missing entrees. And, unbelievably - it was cold! When I asked to have if heated, I was met with a nasty look from the waiter! And we NEVER got our 5th entree. The restaurant did the right thing in the end - they didn't charge for the meal that never was delivered nor for the meal that was cold/late. Given the poor quality of the food and the terrible service - I suggest choosing a different restaurant. read more

Portions are enormous!! The prices are decently priced for the amount of food you get. I went to visit AZ and was missing some Thai food so found this spot near the hotel. The place itself is dark inside and decorated to give off an Asian vibe. Personally, the Thai ice tea was too sweet but good. I would ask for less condensed milk if you're sensitive to sugar. The pad see ew was huge! I added carrot and bean sprout to it. It was really good for the first few bites and then you realize that it's too salty (maybe I was just hungry). I ended up eating majority of the veggie and beef. The mango sticky rice was okay. Mangos are super ripe. The condensed milk was kind of runny and parts of the sticky rice is hard. I planned to dine in but changed my mind to take back to the hotel closed by. All Thai restaurants have similar menu. Just picked one that's come with rice to go. So basically I wouldn't know what's like until I get back to hotel room. I would have purchased two orders next time. Other then that, that's ok! read more

This place is just okay. Food is fine, only real disappointment was the shrimp tempura, which was a reconstituted shrimp paste stick. The service was good though, attentive and nice enough. The real problem is the ambience - for some reason this place has gone all in on flashing rainbow lights which are really gawdy - and, paired with 2000s party music - gives the vibes of a sad club. read more

Thai yumminess! Fresh and delicious with excellent Thai flavors. Best chicken satay I've had in a long time. The Massaman curry and Tom Yum soup were also excellent. Funky fun atmosphere in the middle of downtown. Yes! Mark this as our new favorite place for Thai food. read more

I had the curry recently as to go order. Barely any flavor (which is unlike Thai food), basically just a soupy curry with little tofu; and what pissed me off is that there were only 3 slices of pepper and 3 broccolis. That's so offensive to me. Not going back. read more

This is a must-try place in downtown Phoenix. I had four days in town and tried many restaurants in the area. Zen Thai takes all the starts. I ordered the chicken yellow curry and a Lychee Martini (at the Server's suggestion). It was delicious without being heavy. The textures, colors, and flavors were perfect, like home food. I would have taken pictures. However, by the time I realized the joy of the food and drinks, I had eaten everything. I highly recommend ... super friendly staff with fantastic food! read more

I got takeout from this spot. I got drunken noodles an and a side of fried rice. The quantity was a good amount, but the food itself was bland. The noodles felt overcooked and mushy. The food also felt very oily. The food was ready quickly for pickup. The ambiance was nice on the inside but nothing incredible. Overall, didn't love the food and would not return again. read more

Vegans Welcome! I'm vegan, my husband isn't, we both loved this place. As soon as we walked in we were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance. The furniture and music were both unexpected and enjoyed. Nearly everything on the menu can be made vegan by either substituting for the vegan chicken (which was wonderful) or just not getting a protein option. We both loved everything we ordered. I can't wait to go back and try something else. There were so many choices that looked really good I just went with the first one I found that piqued my interest. Our server was friendly and helpful. He answered all of our questions with a smile. 10 out of 10, will go again. read more

This was our second time here in the last couple months. The drunken noodles do not disappoint. The noodles are melt in your mouth, and the vegetables and meat are seasoned nicely. The curry is flavorful. Definitely worth a visit read more

Was very busy when we (2 senior couples from Sun City) arrived at 1:15 on a weekday afternoon. All tables were occuppied. Waited about 20 minutes before having our choice of 3 tables that vacated at the same time. Reduced luncheon menu prices on select dishes until 2:00. Staff was busy(!), but friendlyand attentive. Once seated, we immediately ordered since we had had 20 minutes to study the menu. Food prep was QUICK! Each of us ordered a different item from the menu, and we were all very pleased with the quantity, quality, and flavor of our ordered items. In fact, was so impressed, one couple ordered a Drunken Chicken to go for their evening meal. Will definitely return, but will consider taking the Metro Rail rather than using a parking structure in the area. read more

Near my hotel had it to go ! Fabulous indoor seating and atmosphere... the staff immediately acknowledges you and greets you . I put my order in , 3 other young ladies were putting in orders and they were so patient answering all their questions about the menu ! The Thai food here is extremely mediocre, but I'm not sure if you would even be able to find anything better in this city as it seems like most, if not all, of the food here in general is pretty mediocre. It could be that maybe because I'm from LA that I probably have higher expectations for Thai food, but I felt like this place was pretty overpriced for what it was. My family and I came here for dinner on the day that we arrived in Phoenix after trying to go to a few other spots and not being able to get seated. We had walked by this place and it was pretty empty so we were seated right away. The service was very good and attentive -- both servers consistently came by to check on us throughout the time that we were there. Overall would only come here if you were trying to grab a quick bite to eat and it was the only option, but wouldn't recommend this place otherwise. read more

Orders to-go so won't review about the service. First off, the place looks really clean and we got greeted right away when we walked in. The food was great. We got spicy crab fried rice and so glad they didn't use imitation crab. The spice was enough and really flavorful. Tom-yum soup was just okay, I was expected to be a bit more sour but it was a bit bland for me. We also get thai ice tea which was great but a bit too sweet. I would give this a solid 4/5 without the service included. read more

Wow! This place is so good. Tried the appetizer sweet potatoes, got the cashew chicken entree and a pad Thai. Our friend got the pineapple chicken. All was so good! I had a business trip at Phoenix and had two dinners at Zen Thai. The first one was ok but presentation could be better (see the seafood entree) the second one was a disappointment. The orange chicken was either dry (very thin and over cooked chicken) or under fried (with some thickness of chicken but the flour touching the meat was wet). In addition, the rice has some dry and hard grains which hurt my teeth. They should serve freshly steamed rice to the customers. I wish this orange chicken could be better. read more

There is a nice variety of sweet treats, and the service provided by the team inside the truck was stellar. One of our student organizations was hosting The Scookie Bar, and after walking around their event, you could score a ticket for a complimentary Scookie. As we pre-ordered so many as incentives for our students, I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, something wasn't set up properly so we didn't have the cookies themselves, but we did have sundaes. We had six options to decide between. I went with The Standard consisting of vanilla ice cream, chocolate chips, and chocolate sauce, and on a normal day, there would have bene a chocolate chip cookie, too. The other five options included the Chocolate Lover, The Celebration, The Signature, Reese's Lover, and The VNA. While I enjoyed the sundae, I'm sure it would have been even better with the cookie included. The Scookie Bar is "where the scoop met the cookie" and serves freshly baked, warm deep-dish skillet cookies also known as scookies. They have a location at The Churchill in Downtown Phoenix, though I would assume I would more regularly see them when their food truck stops by ASU. Their Churchill location is closed on Monday but open Tuesday through Friday from 5-10 PM and Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 10 PM. If you want to order catering, it includes 2 hours of service and a 100 scookie minimum. They can provide a Build Your Own Menu where guests can choose the cookie, ice cream, and toppings, or they can choose from the Signature Scookie Menu which is what ASU did. They have been operating since 2016 in Phoenix. Now that I realize that I was missing the chocolate chip cookie, I need to try it again with that included! I definitely recommend this sweet treat to others.

It's smooth, rich without being too heavy, and the flavor actually develops as you eat it instead of just being one-note sweet. You can tell they take this part seriously. Leave it outside the fridge for an hour and watch that cheesecake melt on your tongue crystals (if you have the patience for that) Their rotating monthly flavors keeps things interesting, and you're not just stuck with the same lineup every time. Out of what I tried, the banana pudding one was easily a standout--super nostalgic, creamy, and just done right without being overly sweet. The coconut one was also up there, more subtle but still really clean and flavorful. Love me some coconut! They also have a punch card system--buy 9 slices, get the 10th free--which is a nice touch. It lowkey turns into a mission because once you've tried one flavor, you kinda want to work your way through all of them anyway. Now...the downside. The customer service just isn't great. It's not aggressive or anything, just noticeably lacking. There's not much warmth or engagement--it feels pretty transactional. For a place that clearly puts effort into their product, you'd expect at least a baseline level of hospitality, and it's just not really there. So overall, if you're going to Banhams, go for the cheesecake. The rotating flavors keep it fresh, the quality is legit, and it's definitely worth trying. Just don't expect much from the service side, and you'll enjoy it a lot more.

Absolutely amazing!! I went here with my family and boyfriend for my birthday and the customer service and food were both incredible. I called a couple times to move the reservation time and change how many people were coming, and the staff was more than accommodating and super nice and understanding. We were welcomed and sat immediately and the staff was constantly checking in and making sure that everything was perfect for us. Food was FANTASTIC! Definitely my new favorite Thai place. We started with the potstickers and the Tom Yum hot pot, both were so good. I had the Khao Soi and it was delicious! My boyfriend got the red curry and my mom got the massaman curry both were 10/10. The pineapple fried rice is also SO good. Everyone was absolutely blown away by their meals. They also gave me a complimentary birthday dessert, the fried banana with coconut pineapple ice cream which was so sweet of them and also outstanding!! I cannot express enough how good the food was. The chicken was the best texture I've ever had in a Thai restaurant ever. Lots of gluten free options too! The vibe of the restaurant was perfect! Most of the lower set tables were taken so the rez came in handy. Ample bar seating available however. Greeted right away by server and offered drink menus. Both the drinks were phenomenal. I originally wanted the Asahi but they were out of it so they gave me a Japanese Lager from Los Angeles (?), blanking on the name. The Caipirinia was the other drink which was made authentically as well. No complaints on the bartender. Food was 3 Bao Buns and a Chow Mein entree with grilled chicken added on top. This was the perfect amount of food for 2 people. The Bao Buns were extremely soft and light on the breading. If you get them from Din Tai Fung they tend to be dough heavy. These were NOT like that. Chicken and Eggplant buns were tasty and had a light kick to them. Noodles were probably the weakest items, I prefer the rice/flat noodles, but these were normal chow mein noodles. But I had to split the dish with my dining companion who enjoyed the noodles quite a bit. I'd go with Udon or Flat Noodles next time and ask them to add chili flakes. No room for dessert but it sounded delicious, something with bananas. Mhmmm!

We started with cold sake and a couple of cocktails. Super cute and yummy drinks, creative and complimented the overall theme. The Asahi beer was huge and came with an ice cold glass, perfect! We got the orange chicken and drunken noodles with added chicken breast. The food was fresh and tasty. I liked that the orange chicken came with rice, and was not overly breaded. The drunken noodles were pretty salty but overall good. These two entrees were enough for two people to take a little bit of leftovers home. Recommend for a nice date night or if looking for some Asian fusion. We'll be back!

I called in a to go order and it was ready pretty quickly. I asked for extra katsu sauce and I don't know if that threw her off but I think the meat jun was supposed to come with a sauce too??? Disappointed in the meat jun but I'm also a saucy girl, It was plain to me, meat battered in egg. It comes with a side salad and side Mac salad and rice of course. Chicken katsu & Mac salad were good. It's a small space with some indoor seating inside, located in downtown. There's limited street parking. Probably a parking garage nearby. Places closes early at 3p and closed on sundays.
