I bought a 2000 Toyota 4Runner from Zee Motors the first week of October 2026. The car had 139,000 miles on it at time of purchase and for a car of that age, seemed great! I took it on a test drive and it ran smooth. However, on my way home which is around 40 miles to south OC, the steering wheel was shaking so uncontrollably it was making my hands vibrate. The next day I decided to take it to my trusty mechanic where they did a full "pre purchase inspection", as they call it (yes I should have had this done before buying the car) After the inspection from my mechanic, they informed me, the car needed $10k-$15k to get everything running smoothly and safely. They reported a number of issues with the car including suspension, transmission, axels, etc. Thankfully I remembered the day I bought the car, I signed a "3 day return form", which I instantly went looking for. To my relief, I was legally subjected to a return within this 72 hour window that I was still in. That day, I drove back to Buena Park to exercise my right. Justin was clearly disappointed to see me back with the car ready to return, which I didn't blame him. Up until this point, I honestly had a good experience with Justin and the rest of the team even with the unfortunate circumstances I had found myself in. The bad taste in my mouth and pure shadiness didn't appear until it came to returning the car and signing paperwork in which we both agreed the car was being returned. Justin told me I was responsible for a number of fees which would be taken out of the return such as * A vehicle restock fee (I knew and agreed to this upon purchase of vehicle) * $40 reimbursement on gas they put in the vehicle before they sold it to me * $1 per mile driven since I purchased the vehicle * a faulty dash signal they claimed came up since I drove away Justin would not let me know what my total refund would be until he had his mechanic look over the vehicle and said I was subject to refund within 48 hours. The delay on their end ended up saving me a ton of money because luckily I went home, did research and read up on local California laws. The only "fee" they were legally allowed to charge me when returning the vehicle was the restock fee and had illegally added on other fees to take away from what I was owed. I sent them an email informing them of my rights and if not handled properly I would be reporting them to California DMV Investigations Division as well as seeking legal counsel and surprise surprise, within 15 minutes of sending the email, Justin reached out and agreed to just deduct the restock fee and my check would be available for pick up the next day. Safe to say, I got very lucky with this new California law and thankfully I realized the cars faults within that return window, I know a lot of other Zee Motors customers haven't been as lucky as I. We recently purchased a used Lexus SC430 online from Zee Motors. We live out of state and could not see the car in person. The description of the car did not make mention of many things we found after delivery. During the process of buying the car I had many conversations with the Mr. Flores asking what had been serviced on the car. I received a car fax report from them along with a dealership inspection report indicating no issues. I was informed that the car drove great, tires looked good and all necessary vehicle services had been performed as part of the pre-delivery process. When the car was delivered to us out of state we could see immediately that the car had been repainted and not well, you could see paint over spray on the rubber trim throughout the vehicle. Touching the car you could feel the nibs in the paint. I called Mr. Flores and reported this and he said he hadn't noticed it. Also the leather interior on the drivers seat and center armrest had significant and noticeable wear on it. We have the car in for service today and have been revised that the rear brake pads and rotors need replacement and that the tires have dry rot and are over 10 years old. We had also noticed that on all four wheels had significant curbing damage and need to be replaced. We feel that we were mislead and a true representation of the cars condition was not made by the dealership. read more

Had complete brake failure while driving due to improper maintenance. Also, I discovered the oil drain bolt and filter housing was waaay over torqued, the PCV housing was failing, but the big issue was the damaged brake caliper and improper brake job. They did not have the right scan tool to put it in "parking brake service mode" and forced the piston back into the caliper breaking the parking brake motor. In order to re assemble it, they put the old pad on the inside of the rotor and new pad on the outside so it seemed during inspection like the job was done. I send evidence, photos, and receipts to the owner who eventually denied responsibility and ghosted me. I was very patient and gave him the benefit of the doubt, requesting only the cost of the caliper to be covered, as it was his mechanic's fault, but failed to act reasonably. read more

Zee motors sold us a car with an obvious leak coming from the bell housing while advertising it was mechanically excellent, turns out the rear main seal and the front transmission seal are both leaking requiring a costly repair to replace the seals and a fouled clutch. Noticed immediately when we got it home and noticed oil on the driveway, this would have easily been spotted by any novice mechanic. Upon inspection under the car, oil was noted at the bottom of the bell housing and fluid was coating the dust cover boot and a sludge was found inside the bell housing. read more

They have a really great curated inventory of older model "enthusiast" cars, with a particularly notable selection of manual transmissions. I already had my eye on what I wanted, but it was still a lot of fun to walk through the lot and showroom and browse a little bit. Everything was pretty reasonably priced related to what it was, too. Alex was also great! Very respectful, friendly and helpful, but also straight forward and not pushy. He didn't try to push anything I wasn't interested in, was accommodating of requests for things like a pre-sale inspection.
