My son purchased a 2015 WRX STI Subaru from Justin at A & J Auto Group in January. Justin promised that the vehicle was in great condition and that the vehicle had new head gaskets, new timing belt and idlers and tensioner, new clutch kit which includes a pressure plate, friction plate, pilot bearing and throw out bearing. He stated in text as well that the AVC gears were serviced with upgraded pins. I drove this vehicle a few weeks after the purchase and the clutch was shot. My son, being fairly new to manual vehicles, didn't know how clutches on sports cars are supposed to feel and was told by Justin that the clutch was performing properly for that vehicle. This is a lie and totally unacceptable. The clutch was barely shifting and was putting off a burning smell when used. My son took it to a local shop, since the dealership he purchased the car from was so far away, and the clutch kit that was supposedly new had to be completely replaced. This is after barely driving the vehicle at all. The new shop stated there is no way to burn out that clutch in the amount of time that my son had the vehicle and the evidence shows that it had not been replaced. They even stated they would speak to Justin concerning this to which Justin refused to communicate with the shop. Two different mechanic shops stated that it is not possible that the head gasket had been replaced recently and there is silicone all over the valve gaskets, which is a no no. Any reputable mechanic should know this. There are oil leaks all over this engine, which is a possible fire hazard and that is the least of the worries. The emission system keeps failing, which is illegal to sell a vehicle with emission problems in California. So, I can only assume this vehicle was rigged to pass inspection until an unsuspecting 20-year-old enticed by a shiny sports car came along. And then a slick talking salesman sold him the piece of crap car to get it off his lot. Justin "taught" my son how to drive this car, befriending him and making him believe that he could be trusted. Justin went on over an hour or more "test" drive with my son and told him if there were ever any issues to contact him and Justin would help him get the car fixed. SO, I called Justin up. I told him the issues that we are having. He told me that my son messed up the car and unequivocally there is no way that he is doing anything to assist. My son purchased the car at the end of January. It is now mid-July. He has driven the car less than 20 times. Most of those months it has been in the shop for various problems. Including having almost no brake pads and damaged rotators when sold to him. We have had Midas and other shops swear and be willing to swear that this car was sold to him this way. Please DO NOT trust Justin or this auto dealer. They will lie to get any vehicle out the door. I hope they sleep well at night on the commission that they made from an unsuspecting young man. If they had any morals at all they would reach out to my son to make this right. My reviews may keep getting taken down, but I will not stop telling the truth and reposting. Hopefully, they will choose to do the right thing so that this doesn't have to progress to the next level with the Better Business Bureau, the California Air Resources Board, small claims court, or whatever other entity would find interest in the dealings that A & J Auto Group might be involved in. read more

Bought my 2009 Toyota Camry SE back in October 2021. The gentleman (cannot remember his name, but he had a slight accent) that helped me out was very kind and not pushy at all. He handed me the keys and allowed me and my roommate to inspect and test drive the car alone, which was really nice not to have someone over your shoulder. During the paperwork process, he was very thorough: explaining everything and answering any questions that I had. One thing that I really liked is that they honored the price that I saw listed on a different website, despite it being different on their own website. No questions asked, I just showed him the screenshot and he instantly said "yes! we will honor it!" I was in the market for a good, safe, reliable car for my college bound daughter to get her to and from home out of state that was also going to be a surprise birthday gift and was referred to A&J. I expressed my interest in a 2007 BMW 335i they had on the lot. The car had low miles at only 95k, clean inside and out with the Carfax and was priced just right within my budget so after having my mechanic check it out and test driving I decided to purchase the car. I had one problem though... I purchased the car a week before my daughter's birthday and had nowhere to keep the car until her surprise was revealed! To my rescue came David! Not only did he keep the car for me but after expressing my interest in having a stereo system installed, he coordinated with a local stereo shop to have the system installed and ready for pickup on my daughter's birthday! Needless to say my daughter absolutely LOVES her car and was elated when she saw it. Beautiful, inside and out and drives and runs amazingly well! And the icing on the cake...over a month later David has followed up several times with me and my daughter to ensure the car is still running well even with my daughter now being out of state! I was looking for a specific car and had been to several dealers with hover salesmen. Not my thing.!! I made an appointment to see the car I wanted and when we showed up, Dave had the car ready for us and handed us the key. He said if you have any questions let me know, here's the car take it for a drive. He gave us a few directions and told us to take it on the freeway too! Do your thing guys, if you want the car we'll work it out. It was such a preasure relief!! No one wants someone hovering over you when you are making a big decision like this. Dave was super friendly and honest, car was as described. No trick add ons and I was in and out in under a hour. I would for sure buy a car from Dave again in the future. The only thing I did not love is they charged me 3% fee to use my credit card, which I understand why, but most car places do not charge that fee to the customer. Visited this establishment on 3 different days (all dealings were with Kevin). Very straight-forward and I find him to be professional, honest and meticulous. Spoke with both owners via phone a few times and they were very pleasant, reasonable & accommodating. I wound up buying a 2000 Lexus RX 300 on 3rd visit. I was provided with one helluva pre purchase incentive and on the day of signing paperwork, Kevin came in early so as to accommodate me and had me out on the road 5 minutes ahead of what he said he would. I'm well aware these gentlemen are in the business of selling used cars, however, I find their cars to be fairly priced, in immaculate condition, and their lot is spotless (very nice lobby as well). Had been looking for an additional vehicle, given there are 4 drivers in the house now, (2 teenagers). Had been researching for almost 6 weeks when I came across these guys via the Car Fax site. It was overall in really good shape, one or two dings and dents here and there but it is a 15 year old vehicle, (a mechanic friend was curious about it and was very impressed with its condition overall). I worked in person with Kevin; he was very patient and helpful, never pushy. I worked via the phone with Dave who was always quick and efficient; he handled the one nagging issue regarding the timing on the smog certification of the vehicle with ease. The only reason for a 4 star review as the time it took to do the paperwork, all by hand, and I am pretty sure Kevin's hand was cramping by the end. Otherwise a great experience overall. read more

Calm and straight-forward place to buy a car. They do not negotiate prices so do not try to haggle with them, but the price was very good for what we got. The salesman didn't pressure us at all or even say too much about it, he just let us check it out ourselves and test drive it on our own. He let us drive it down the street to a mechanic to check it out no problem. He did not encourage us to buy it, told us to take our time and work out any details we need and we could come back any time. He even suggested other options for what we were looking for if this didn't work out - again, no pressure at all. Very very straight forward and kind. I came in a couple of months ago and bought a Honda civic. David responded very quickly to the questions over the phone. Kevin who did the paperwork was very professional, patient, and was crystal clear about all the information. The only problem was that the battery of the Honda Civic wasn't good within days of purchasing the car it wouldn't start. After charging the battery, it would last a few days then it would have to be jumped again. So I purchased a new battery and I haven't had that problem since. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a used car. read more

First and foremost cars are lovely here, but what good are cars if you aren't willing to negotiate. The dealer was unwilling to take any offers and constantly made calls to someone who wasn't there to see if they would take our offer. I understand that, but what through me off was that he said two different names when he supposedly "called" stating that he was the man in charge of negotiating the "deals". Which leads me to believe that he didn't call anyone at all... horrible business, completely dishonest. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. It's really sketchy. read more

I was so impressed by the quality of the car and even more happy with the service I received. Even though I didn't come with the intention of purchasing the car that day, I did because I couldn't pass up such a deal. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS PLACE. We purchased a 04 Buick from A&J Auto Group on 4/27/17. 6 days later on May 3rd, the transmission on the car started slipping. We took it to our local mechanic (who we trust and have been going to for about 7 years) and he said that the transmission was really bad and needed to be rebuilt or replaced. I contact A&J Auto Group who said the only thing they would do is refer me to their mechanic in Westminster. Our issue with this is that 1. Why would we trust them after selling us a bad car and 2. we live about 2 hours away and the car couldn't even drive that far. I told them we didn't like those options and they said that was "the best" they could do. Its been a nightmare with them. I've spoke to Dave on the phone a few times and he is rude and condescending. The owner NEVER EVEN WANTED TO SPEAK WITH ME. My parents own a business and I can't imaging them refusing to speak to a customer! Its unbelievable.. So we spent $2000 on the rebuilt transmission and went to someone our local mechanic referred. IF A&J AUTO GROUP WOULD HAVE CHECKED THE CAR BEFORE THEY PURCHASED IT AND SOLD IT TO US THEY WOULD HAVE SEEN THAT THE SENSOR WAS CALLING CODES SPECIFIC TO THE TRANSMISSION. THEY SOLD ME THIS CAR KNOWING SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH IT! These people are scammers, I URGE YOU TO NOT BUY FROM THEM! What made me want to write this review is that my mechanic also noticed that the car was leaking water saying that there may be issues with the water pump. Do yourself a favor and never step foot on this used car lot. read more
