Sam and the other guys were courteous and professional to work with. There really are a wide selection of new/used vehicle to choose from. I would recommend purchasing a car with American Motors. The Nissan that I purchased from them is great.

Very happy with the competitive pricing and Blue Book value of my purchase as well as the great condition the car was in.
    James J.

I came here on a listing they had put online on Autotrader.com. It was quite a different experience than I am usually used to with car dealerships and aggressive sales staff. I believe Samir was the name of the associate that helped me out, I told him what car I was here to see and he got the keys, pulled the car out, and then totally stepped back to give me my space to do my all around inspection of the car. I really appreciated that he gave me all the time I needed to check everything out until I was ready to start asking all my questions, all of which he was happy to answer. Listed pricing of my car was very competitive, within Kelley Blue Book values, and came with a clean CarFax report. The paper work process was a breeze and the fastest purchase I've ever made from beginning to end. If you've purchase at major dealerships, you know what I'm talking about. Just the paperwork will take you half the day. Overall it was a great car buying experience and am glad I gave American Motors a chance to do business with me.

Retaliation text from Ali after the bad Yelp review.
    Catherine J.

On 11/19 Ali texted me requesting that I send him $134 via Cash App, Venmo, or Apple Pay for registration fees. (Mind you, I paid for my car in May. My car was registered in August. It is now November. Therefore, it seems like he is mad about the negative Yelp review and is attempting to retaliate against me.) Nonetheless, what Ali is attempting to do is UNPROFESSIONAL and ILLEGAL. First an foremost, the appropriate and professional way to request money from a customer is via an itemized invoice. NOT through a text message. Additionally, any charges should be accepted via a legit method (i.e. cash, credit, check, or money order -- not through a Peer-to-Peer payment app!) Secondly, and most importantly, American Motor's/Ali's attempt to collect the difference in registration fees is in my opinion, ILLEGAL. Here's why: The difference in registration fees was caused by a DMV late fee. The late fee was accrued through untimely submission of fees and documents by the dealer. When I purchased the car in May, the May 2020 tags were either already expired or were about to expire. American Motors SHOULD HAVE submitted the DMV registration paperwork immediately to avoid fees/penalties, but they didn't. Instead they waited until AUGUST to register my car. Now they are attempting to pass down the fee penalty to me. Below are the following laws that I believe American Motors has broken: Per Cal. Veh. Code §4456 (a)(2) "If the vehicle is used, the dealership has 30 days from the date of the sale to submit the registration application, which must be accompanied by all fees and penalties due for registration or transfer of registration. Penalties due for noncompliance are to be paid by the dealership, and THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT CHARGE THE PURCHASER FOR THE PENALTIES." Per Cal. Veh. Code § 5753(c)(1). "The dealership must turn over the title to the vehicle no later than 15 business days after the dealership has received full payment for the vehicle. The payment can be made by the buyer or the buyer's bank. The dealership must mail, transfer, or deliver the title to the buyer who is lawfully entitled to transfer of ownership." Per Cal. Veh. Code §2982 (a)(2) "Dealers and lessor-retailers are responsible for itemizing and collecting the proper fee amounts from the buyer and dispersing the fees to the proper agency....Buyers may be charged all fees due to DMV, including fees for duplicates/substitutes and fees/penalties that accrued prior to the vehicle entering the dealer inventory, UNLESS THOSE FEES/PENALTIES ACCRUED THROUGH UNTIMELY SUBMISSION OF FEES AND/OR DOCUMENTS BY THE DEALER." That being said, now that Ali is requeting $134 from me, I have opened up yet another BBB complaint, and have reported American Motors to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) (for attempting to collect on a debt that is not legally owed to them), the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA), and to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Furthermore, I have contacted a lawyer who has stated, "You are responsible to pay the amount required to renew or transfer the registration. However, you are not responsible for any penalty amounts."

Worst experience ever DO NOT BUY from these people Ali is a con purchased a vehicle Audi Q5 in March 2020 two weeks exactly it started to leak oil. Called Ali had me take it to his mechanic his own mechanic told me the car had turbo issues and was burning oil. I let Ali know this and all he had to say it is a used car. Which I agree that sometimes you buy a car with the dealer not knowing what is all wrong. But in this case the oil leak had to have been known and the fact that the car was burning engine oil is also something he had to of known about. Long story short the car is now non operable. Needs a new engine. After it's been in the shop 3 other times since I bought it now. The engine needs to be replaced. I've always bought cars from used dealerships. Never an experience like this. The most dishonest people. I don't wish anyone this experience I intend to file a case with BBB

My new ride, Fiona the Fiat.
    Robin C.

I did most of my car buying research online, before I ever arrived at the dealership. I knew I wanted a Fiat and American Motors had two at reasonable prices. My emails were answered in a timely manner, my questions answered to my satisfaction. I arrived at the dealership thinking I wanted the yellow Fiat. (It's really cute and has a sun roof.) A picture of my driver's license was taken and the keys given for an immediate test drive, alone! Who does that in this day and age? It felt nice to be trusted by a stranger. These guys were very kind, considerate and helpful. While waiting for paperwork to go through, I returned home but could not get the green Fiat out of my mind. The next morning, I offered a cash price, on the green car, it was politely declined. Their prices are fair and so rock-bottom, I don't blame them for not coming down on the price but I had to ask. So, I went back and purchased the green Fiat for cash. My car was washed and prepped while I waited for the paperwork to be finished. These guys are great! Social distancing and the customer's comfort are a priority here. It's a small place, but if you are looking for a great car at a fair price - check these folks first. A stranger is simply a friend you haven't met yet.

    2013 Nissan Leaf

I was specifically shopping for a used Leaf with a full 12-bars of battery life. American Motors provided a free CarFax report, a promising sign that there is nothing to hide in the car's history. I was happy the Leaf that American Motors advertised online looked exactly the same on their lot. Used cars are more scarce than a few years ago, but in comparison shopping with several other dealers, American offered a relatively excellent value. I encountered many dealers who did not include a photo of the Leaf's battery life, and who did not return phone or email inquiries. American was transparent in representing the car's outstanding condition and prompt in contacting me. Both the salesmen working there were knowledgeable, polite, and experienced in completing car sale documents and registration, making my purchase as simple as possible. They also sent a digital copy of all the forms to me for my records. I love my new gently-used Leaf, and highly recommend American Motors of Fullerton.

He kept calling me even when I declined

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE (CALLED AFTER CAR VIEWING) This idiot who's name might be Amin kept on calling me while I was at work to complain to me about a review I didn't leave. I finally answered his call only for him to yell at me and tell me about a review he received about himself. I didn't even leave the review! He decided to YELL to me about it. I DIDN'T EVEN LEAVE THAT REVIEW and he KNEW it wasn't my review because that wasn't even my name and when I answered I told him it was me and he STILL kept on yelling about it. Super UNPROFESSIONAL and DISRESPECTFUL. I literally had to block his number because he wouldn't STOP HARASSING me for something I didn't do. I hope he gets fired for harassment.

The car displayed this message 5 minutes into our test drive!

They laughed at him and asked what he possibly wanted (referring to his dirty uniform, ignorant to the fact he owned the company he had patched on his shoulders.) He laughed and walked across the lot to the Jaguar dealership and bought TWO cars cash on the spot (gramps only dealt in $100s). He and my dad drove them to the HOI and told the salesmen they should have taken him seriously. Thought maybe they learned a lesson. Apparently not. I stopped going there a year ago.
