RUN RUN RUN! I would give this a negative rating if I could. I've never had a worse experience shopping for cars. Any normal dealer or mechanic will tell you to really drive a car, to test the brakes and to feel it accelerate and LISTEN to acceleration and turns, but this salesperson (can you really call someone a salesperson if they are terrible at sale?) insisted on keeping the AC on and was incredibly, shockingly rude. I tested a veloster based on an advertisement price listed at $9984. After a test drive, I was presented a quote with an additional lojack fee of $995 and clear coat (paint) fee of $495 that was not listed in the original advertisement. They try to get you in the door, and then add on hidden fees that weren't in the ad in the attempt to make it appear as if they lowered the price for you. Go to another dealership! These guys will try to use bait and switch strategies and do whatever to fool you. Not this guy, though. To the guy who tried to sell me, you give sales people the bad rep you all have. I'm about to lay it on the line here, and all of the "One Star" ratings are "Spot On" as the rating I gave them above! Scam is an under statement. 2013 Camaro purchased two days ago is now back on the lot and $500.00 less in our pockets due to the lies told to us prior to sealing the deal. It is illegal for a licensed dealer to sell a vehicle to a customer with an active recall issued to that vehicle which is what they did to us. It was Auto Republics responsibility to have had that recall corrected before it rolled off the lot. They told us that it could bee corrected at any GM dealer or certified mechanic by making an appointment. NOT TRUE! We were on our way to do this, in addition to have a repair made with the extended warranty we purchased for $1900.00 due to a repair the failed on the cooling system at their Fullerton location. They had told us that the problem had been corrected, yet that evening of the day we drove it off the lot, it was back. LIES AGAIN! With under 24 hours of ownership, the S##T hit the fan with a Christmas tree of warning lights on the dash screaming at us. I can't make this up, and would have rather been able to keep the car for our son who had fell in love with this beautiful car. Beauty my dear reader is only skin deep, and got it back quickly under the 48 hours of ownership to cancel the deal, and lose $500.00 dollars to get out from under the commitment. This is crazy, unethical, shady, and a kick to the nuts as far as I'm concerned! This place is like a massive puppy farm of unchecked, and dangerous cars and trucks! Checked the car inside and outside, went for a test drive, liked it and was already going to purchase it. And BOOM - I'm told that they've pre-installed some protective clear film on door edges(worth maybe $20) and a gps tracker on this car and therefore it costs $1200(!!!) more than advertised. No, they cannot take these things off. No, I cannot buy it for the advertised price. No, they won't give any discount because the car is already "aggressively priced". But for anyone who is thinking of buying from this place, PLEASE PLEASE keep in mind that as much as they say they inspect their vehicles THEY DON'T. My 16 year old son was so excited to get his car from here and not even two weeks later we find out the camshaft adjuster solenoid has not been working properly for some time and not only needed to be replaced but the oil had been leaking into places it shouldn't have. $11,000 to get this properly fixed. What a nightmare and what a disappointment for my son who is working hard to make his own car payment and to have to worry about this huge repair that he won't be able to help with. Do your due diligence and don't believe when they say they check their cars. They just want to make that sale. Update: 3-29-19 I have since gotten rid of the car. I am thankful for the kind souls at Mercedes in LB that have helped get us out of this nightmare. I was told that the car already had this issue because the oil had already gone into places it shouldn't have. I am very disappointed in my car-buying experience with Auto Republic at the Cypress location. On line the car I wanted, 2016 Ford Flex, was listed at about 15K. When I asked what the "walk out the door" price would be the first salesman, Andre, wrote an amount on the back of the paper with the estimated monthly payments/72 months it was around 19K. I said this doesn't include the down payment correct, and he said yes. When I signed the contract the price JUMPED to 22K. Oh, there's premium and GAP insurance, the 2nd salesman, Junior, said. When I challenged them on the agreed price of 19K, they denied it!! I would not recommend Auto Republic to anyone! The office reminded me of a college apartment: dark paint on the walls with black trim with a lot of chips, cracks and dents. The carpet was dark, old and worn as well. If you're looking for a car I recommend Auto Republic. They pre-equip their cars with LoJack which has its pros (lower insurance rates) and cons (the car will cost a little more). Though you have to buy LoJack they price their cars to sell. Talking to David and Junior I learned their dealership is not a business that is trying to rip of the customer but serve the customer. They assisted me in every way possible from getting me the history on the car, working with my negotiations (warranty, gap, and car return), and even helped me get my rental car picked up from Enterprise across the street.
