    Strawberry Lemonade

A chill bar tucked away behind a gate under a building, it's very unassuming, and noting too unique happening, but the bartenders created such a nice vibe that I was thoroughly enjoying myself! They also have a nice happy hour deal, definitely a locals spot! Drink weren't bad, nothing crazy!

Three and a half stars for a Jekyll and Hyde neighborhood watering hole. I had two very different experiences in as many weeks here, and second visit was enough to make me round down. Three bars: one downstairs where you can order food, adjacent to a front patio with communal picnic tables; one upstairs by the dance floor; and a cash only bar in the windowed back deck. Hookah available on either patio as well as downstairs because of the open front format. Multiple TVs. For food, I've only shared in some fries, lightly coated and semi-crunchy. Weeknight scene sees a lot of local regulars, thanks to a calendar ripe with trivia, karaoke, live music, and comedy open mic night. I've had one of the best mojitos of my life here, as well as one of the worst. Francis and the dude with great hair are the only ones who can mix a drink. They're all evenly attentive. Skip the strawberry lemonade, as the alcohol content is negligible. I'd probably end up dancing here again when Wonderland's too crowded. The DJs who spin here are bumpin', and the discounts are good for the wallet-- daily drink specials plus happy hour until 8 pm. Both are factors enough to draw me in again despite the weekend meat market vibe.

Zeba hosts an all ladies party on the last Fridays of the month. My coworkers and I decided to check it out. The bottom floor is more of a chill bar where you smoke your hookah and you can actually hear each other talk. The upstairs is where the dancing occurs. The place is pretty small, and it gets hot super quick especially if there are a lot of people. There were a lot of people last night and it was ridiculously hot until someone opened the door on the top floor and let the nice cold breeze come in. The restrooms upstairs are for single use, so be prepared to wait to use the restroom if you go there on a crowded night. As for the ladies who show up to these parties, it's geared more towards the younger crowd. I'm 28 and I felt super old compared to all the 21 year olds. Still a great time if you're looking to dance the night away during these parties. This was my first time there and I would definitely go back.

Four Words: One Small Baby Roach So I come out for Trivia Night, and you will not believe what happened as I sat down at the bar. A small baby roach crawl across the bar O_O . Were there is one baby roach there is a family of roaches. My friend informed me that roaches are everywhere, but we just don't see them. I shake my head to that. I can't help but think that the roaches live in the ice bucket that was not far from where I was sitting. That being said, I don't know about when I will be returning. Now that I have saw that one small baby roach I can't stop think about it.

So the bf and I stopped by here for a quick drink before going out to dinner. We always pass this place when we are walking our two dogs. It's easy to miss, but be sorry if you do. They have good happy hour drinks as well has happy hour hookah. I will definitely be back for a longer period of time since I hear that they have a dance floor.

Well I do enjoy burgers and plenty of places have upped their burger game. As much as it cost for a burger at certain fast food places you might as well hit up some of these other places. The prices are basically the same now. On a few trips to Capital Grille I did go with the burger and so I decided to check out its affiliate Capital Burger. Capital Burger actually has more burger options to choose for over Capital Grille and a more slimmed down menu. Still with the name burger in its name, you know where their focus is. I went with the bacon cheeseburger that comes with candied smoke bacon that came at $22 with your chose of sides (fries or various salads). It was cooked to the perfect medium rare and you can tell when a burger is cooked with better ingredients and cooked with a give a damn. It was not thrown together, and the fries were not just sitting under a heating lamp. I actually ordered a to go burger for the spouse. Here is where customer service comes in. I was asked how far I had to travel and the person taking my order said she will separate portions so it will travel better. Thank you. It is that little extra that goes a long way. This time I went with the Capital Burger to go along with some key lime pie to nibble on later. Great service and great food. There are plenty of good burger places but if you are a burger fan then definitely check this place out. Absolutely no disappointment. For a true high end burger experience I have no problem giving this place a solid five stars.

The bartenders were friendly, filled waters promptly and were fast. I came in about 5pm on a Saturday and there were only 5-6 other people at the bar, but the dining area was pretty full. This place has an almost pioneer-ish vibe with all of the taxidermy on the walls mixed with like your Uncle's cabin in the woods in the 60s. I was digging it. I started with the buttermilk biscuits and pimento cheese. Wow. I could have eaten all of them. The bartender and I agreed that it wasn't a good idea. He said he did it once. I also had a mint julep, and while I normally like them, this one was a little different. The presentation was cool, but the drink was all ice, which was disappointing. For dinner I had the Butcher's Steak, medium well (should have gotten medium) and the Brussels sprouts. I'm thinking about the leftovers now. The folks next to me ordered my exact meal because it looked so good. I will indeed return! Thanks, St. Anselm!

I ordered the spicy crab shrimp tempura roll and the spicy tuna/salmon roll (sorry I don't remember the names). The shrimp tempura one wasn't it, the shrimp tempura was skinny. The spicy tuna/salmon roll was good. I also had a lemon drop martini and it was waaaay too sweet. My fiancée had the fried chicken sandwich and fries, it was wonderful he says. They had a variety of different cocktails, beers, and wines. I was particularly impressed with the Asian beers and Japanese whiskey, you don't find that too often. I really liked the inside, a lot of mahogany wood panels. Old fashion boujie, with a lot of bird art. Service was slow because there was a very large party seated in my section. But to be fair, our waitress tried to be attentive. Once we got our order in though, the food came out pretty quickly. This place is great for romantic dates to huuuge parties of ppl. Quickly greeted and placed at a booth half a block from where we entered. The booth was rather a tight fit. I'm not the largest guy, if I were I'd either not fit at the booths or would need lube to get me to fit. Our server was quick to ask is we wanted drinks. He said the old fashioned was excellent. It wasn't. It was a borderline old fashioned. The food looked like it came from foodpro or another such provider. It wasn't made in house. The ravioli was too perfectly cut, I'd e or y house made for $26 but again it's tourist spot. The wife loved her short rib ragu with meatballs. Which was the same price as my brought in ravioli. Desserts were better than some smaller places we eat at. Not excellent but good enough. Far better places to eat at in DC, but sadly not close to where we were going to see our show. Not bad, but very pricey for what you get.
