    Regular Chicken Fingerz Platter

Not gonna lie... it was a rough start and the order wasn't quite right at the register BUT the manager (an older but sweet gal) got us fixed up. I then read reviews as we waited thinking it might not be the best place to have chosen. HOWEVER, we did end up with a correct order that all 4 in our party enjoyed. The lemon chicken was so yummy. It was hot and fresh. The chicken quesadilla was also well received. The regular chicken strips were also good. The family also enjoyed the toast. So, all-in-all they did a good job tonight. We were pleasantly surprised after the start to the order and the reviews.

The only reason I discovered it was because I had a craving for barbecue and started looking to see what was within 10 miles or so in the area. My husband and I decided to share a slab of ribs, because it came with two rolls and two sides. Perfect for seniors with smaller appetites. The ribs were really good, very meaty, as was my side, the mac & cheese. I took half of each of my portions home for another meal a couple days later. My husband had the baked beans as his side, and also enjoyed those. I tried the sweet sauce, which had a little bit of a kick but not much, and was just right. The garlic rolls were not quite as tasty as I'd hoped, more like a doughy dinner roll with some garlic and butter brushed on top. I was hoping they would have a little crunch, but that was a very minor thing in an otherwise great meal. The ambience was outstanding - we sat at the bar, it wasn't crowded, and we ended up finding out that we shared a mutual friend with one of the two bartenders who were there, which just added to the great experience.

For not having ever been we sure found out that apparently we didn't do ordering correctly. Has no clue that the other room which is the tavern apparently is where you order if you're going to sit in there. Again, it was busy and our first time so had literally no idea. The young girl who pretty much had an attitude and made us feel like we purposely ordered at the counter and went into the tavern was the end of the world. The staff in the tavern were so nice about it and honestly said it wasn't a big deal it happens so no worries. The food. The teriyaki chicken lacked flavor. Perhaps some smothering of the teriyaki so it actually tastes like it would have been better. Served in a take out box was also just weird. Presentation was very unwelcoming. If I wanted takeout I'd go get takeout. Perhaps a little tray how the brisket and beans were served with a side of extra teriyaki sauce and more veggies. This could have been so much better. The ribs were good but nothing to really rave about. Mac was so so. Slaw was good. My 1864 sandwich was bland. The brisket was not flavorful or anything. Lots of overcooked pieces. I guess I pictured a mixture of soft tender and flavored meat chunks but instead it was tiny burnt overcooked small bits with more Giardiniera than meat. Fries were seasoned very well. Beans were very tasty. Guess I should have stocked up on sides. Sweet tea was really good. Atmosphere was nice in tavern. Glad we sat there. The main dining area was too loud and crowded. Small tables and just too chaotic for us. I'd say this is a one and done. I really wanted to love this place. I had high expectations I suppose. Not exactly disappointed but definitely not satisfied. Our friends drove and hour and a half while it was about 40 min for us but now onto the search for some delicious brisket. Three meals and drinks for $54, definitely expected this to be top tier. The search continues. Three stars for the tea, sides, and amazing old fashioned drink.

You order at a counter and they call your name for pick up. They have a small seating area. There are four 4 top tables. There is one 6 top table. The tenderloin sandwich was large. You can get a large sandwich for $10.95 or an extra large for $13.95. They have over 20 different condiments to add to your sandwich. For sides, they have french fries, onion rings, mac & cheese, baked beans, and chips. They are priced separately. They serve Coke products, which we really like! Our tenderloin sandwich was served hot and fresh. We got it with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onions. They have a variety of sauces you can add as well. Since the seating area is small, my wife snagged us a table while I went to the counter to order. This was probably our mistake. Our order was priced incorrectly in that we only got the tenderloin Tuesday discount on one of the tenderloin sandwiches. We probably both should have gone to the counter and ordered separately. We got sauces on the side and my wife got the ranch and I got the fiery ranch. However, when we picked up our bag at the counter, my sauce was not included, although it was on the printout of our ticket. So, technically you could say both our order and our bill were incorrect Although the bill, you could say, was also our fault since we did not order separately. That being said, we have gone to other establishments on Tenderloin Tuesday and had one bill and we both received the discount. The tenderloin sandwich was OK and fairly priced given market conditions. Would we return? If we were on the far east side of Carmel, we would stop in again. However, we would not drive all the way here from the far west side of Carmel just for the tenderloin sandwich. If you are near their location, stop by and give them a try. They were definitely busy and the staff was friendly.

It's a casual dining room offering a comfortable place to eat your meal. I got the large breaded tenderloin with lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion with mayo on the side. My friend got the extra large - better be hungry to finish that off. The sandwich was crispy on the outside and tender/juicy on the inside. The tot rings were awesome. The loinz and rings were not greasy. Overall a very tasty offering. We will return.

I was impressed with how quickly they were able to seat us despite it being so busy in a Saturday night. We managed to snag the only available table out there. Score! They immediately brought us tortilla chips which were still warm and plenty of salsa. Our server was quick to take our order and return with waters. They were able to accommodate my request to make substitutions to my enchiladas. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the overall experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Service was slow and the food was just okay, but what really bothered me was the way gratuity was handled. I was with a party of eight, and I completely understand an automatic 18% gratuity for larger parties. The problem is that the gratuity was not shown on the paper check we were given before paying. My check showed a total in the $60s. The server then took my card and processed it on the handheld device she was holding. I was presented with the option to select a tip, so I selected 20%, believing I was tipping 20% on the total shown on my paper check. It wasn't until the very end that my total suddenly showed $92. Once several people in our group noticed the same discrepancy, we asked about it and learned that an 18% gratuity had already been added. We had essentially tipped on top of an automatic gratuity without realizing it. To their credit, they refunded the additional tips when we asked. What bothered me most was when we asked why the automatic gratuity wasn't included on the paper check, and our waitress responded, 'because some people don't tip.' An automatic gratuity for a large party is perfectly reasonable, but customers should be clearly told about it and should be able to see their actual total, including the gratuity, before their card is processed and they're prompted to add another tip. Unfortunately, this also wasn't my first uncomfortable experience here. The first time I visited with my family, while we were still eating, a staff member asked if they could take the chair my son was sitting in to use at another table. Yes--he was literally still sitting in it. We were so surprised by the request that we asked for our bill and left. I only returned last night because it was a girls' night and someone else had made the reservation. After this experience, I won't be returning again. If you dine here with a larger party, I would strongly recommend checking whether gratuity has already been added before selecting an additional tip.
