I was just in the store on Mass Ave here recently and the experience that i got was one of the best ones by far the staff there is outstanding and the go the extra mile to make sure that the customer is taken care. Absolute peak. I don't know a single restaurant better than this. My first time biting into a piece of chicken had to be top 2 events in my life. The tangy sauce with the complex chicken flavor, and don't forget the flavorful fries. Just peak. Not to mention the milkshakes too. Dave, you deserve the Medal of Honor. I usually do takeout when I get Dave's, and it's generally great. They've messed up a couple of my orders before, like the fries or heat level, but when they get it right, it's so good. The app reward systems has given me free stuff and it's wort the once in a while visit from me. Other hot spots charge more for higher than medium... not Dave. Dave respects you enough not to overcharge you. I also love the worry on everyone's face when I order the hottest level. It's honestly not that hot and I sometimes think they don't actually put the hottest spice on, but that may just be my tolerance. The restaurant itself is packed after school in Broad Ripple and the vibes are always chill. The chicken is well cooked and always juicy. The spicy Dave's sauce is a must with honey packets. The tea dispenser was missing the diffuser and my wife and I both got shot with raspberry tea syrup. No big deal. Our order came out in just a few minutes. The food looked great and was hot and fresh. The fries were hot, crispy, and well seasoned. The tenders were well seasoned and huge! My wife ordered light mild and I ordered medium heat. The sliders were enormous. Their sliders are the size of a McDonald's chicken sandwich and twice as thick. The chicken was hot, well seasoned and crispy. On a spice meter of 1-10, the medium heat was only about a 2. We enjoyed our experience and would go back to Dave's if given the opportunity. read more

Ok ..much respect to Dave's Hot chicken! I was skeptical but they proved m wrong! So the only chicken they serve are strips. They have 7 levels from zero seasoning ( but whyyy) to reaper. This place is a hip new joint off of Mass Ave. There is tons of metered street parking available in front of the restaurant and within walking distance. There are colorful murals all along the walls and music playing throughout the joint. This place has a lot going on here. It was very loud in there. How loud you ask? Loud enough that they need a PA system to announce orders ready for pick up. The place was packed during my visit. I got the 2 slider with fries meal and opted for the hot sauce with cheese. The staff there are nice. They dining area is deceptively big. It wraps around the corner. Seats are at a premium though, during their busy times. It is also not the cleanest area. Their were wet spots near the drink machine and tables that needed to be cleaned. It took about 20 minutes for me to get my food and make sure that you have your ticket number when you go up to get your food. My sliders, with the hot sauce, had a real kick to them. They were bordering on almost too hot. Also, I really could not taste the cheese that I paid to have added on. The chicken was still tasty, even after taking a piece home and having it for dinner. The fries were well seasoned and delicious. You get a ton of food and as I eluded to, I could not eat it all and took some home for later. I was teetering between a 3 and 4 star rating with this one, but ultimately decided to go with the 4 because that is where I think this place was closest. A 3.5 would be more appropriate though. It's nice to have a hot chicken option in Indy now! The chicken itself is high quality and tastes good, the hot level was pretty spicy and the mild was very flavorful. However, the sides were average at best. The Mac and cheese was creamy, but bland, and the fries weren't very good honestly, the dipping sauce helped a lot though. I would recommend a slider vs the tender 1.) because I ordered one of each and the chicken on the slider was much larger and 2.) the slider bun and coleslaw topping with the chicken was a great combo. Also, since they just opened be prepared to wait, I waited 40 minutes to order because they only had one person taking orders at noon. The chicken itself is 4/5 stars, but the experience and the quality of the sides take the overall rating down for me. I ordered the #4 meal which comes with 1 slider and fries just to try it. I thought the slider was good and the fries were the best part of the meal. I got the lite mild sandwich which wasn't spicy at all and had a very strong cumin flavor. I probably would have enjoyed a spicier sandwich but I wanted to be cautious given it was my first time. For me I think I prefer the slider because of the slaw they give with it is so nice, but if you wanna go simple can't go wrong with a tender.
