I've only been to one Zaxby's and it was the location in Dickson, TN. So, when I was in the area and had time and saw this location, I stopped in for a very early lunch/late breakfast. The lady working the counter was helpful... Quickly placed my order and my food was made and delivered to my table in a few minutes. The food was pretty darn good! Not as great as Raising Canes, but it was nice. The bread was basic, bland, and not completely seasoned with their butter, so after a quick bite of it and seeing that, I didn't eat the rest. The cole slaw was nice, but needed some more seasoning. The chicken tenders were piping hot, fresh, and decent... but not the best. Fries were amazing! The dining room and entire restaurant was beautifully and perfectly decorated! The maintenance inside was PERFECT! It looked brand new in there. If I were interested in this type of food again, this place would suffice. read more

First off I want to say that the casheir Vanessa was great, she was patient with me & told me all about the promotions going on today. She took my order right but its like everytime I come here I ask for my fingers to be tossed on my nibblers sandwich & its like they just drizzle bbq on the tender. Tossed is when u put it in the bucket then put the sauce then toss it. I've ordered this at least 3times in the last month but they never get it right. I know this isn't the CHICKEN PHILLY & FUNNEL CAKE THEY HYPED. The chicken philly is only fried or grilled chicken (your choice) in aoli and cheese with peppers. Why put the peppers on the bottom? Didn't like that.. Funnel cake is off a bit, I would be willing to try again on a different day to see if it's cooked better. This Zaxby's is close so unfortunately I go here frequently. The food is so inconsistent. The service is typically slow and unfriendly. They often forget things or give you the wrong items. Last time we ordered from here we bought nibblers, got a big zack snack instead. The time before that they over charged me for cookies and didn't put any in the bag. Speaking of the bag... the condensation inside the bag is crazy and your straws and napkins get wet. I will say the weekday, day crew is better food and service wise. 2/15/21: We were in the area & stopped by for a quick bite. When we pulled up, there were no other customers there. We went in the drive thru & the cashier was not very friendly. We had to repeat our order 3x before she got it. We got our food & the chicken strips were dry and rubbery. The toast was stale. The fries were fresh & the traditional sweet and spicy wings were good. There's plenty of parking spaces and many other stores and restaurants nearby. I will come back in the future. First time visit a Zaxby's in the Richmond area. Overall it was pretty good. I wasn't in the mood for anything to heavy so I tried the Cobb salad with some chips. The chips were very delicious. Not heavy and perfectly salted. Everyone at my table tried them and really liked them. I dipped them in the Zaxby's sauce which was better than the ranch I received with them. The Cobb salad was great. It was a very large portion. I liked that the toppings come in small piles in the salad so if it's something you don't want, it can easily be removed. I enjoyed it all and it was very fresh. I will come again and try the wings or tenders that my coworkers speak so highly about. The inside was pretty clean and I like how they bring your order to your table, you don't have to wait up front for it. They give you a number to set on your table so they know where to deliver the meal. read more

The service was less than stellar - unless you take it from the perspective of how time moves on the stellar level, i.e. it takes billions of years for stars to burn out, which incidentally is about how long it took to get our food. I cannot fathom how it could possibly take so long to take pre-prepared foods and deep fry it in 500 degree oil. But apparently this amazing staff figured out how. read more

This is one of my favorite fast food restaurants. This was my first time at this new location. The line was so long that there was a police officer directing traffic in the parking lot. We waited about 20 minutes. Not bad considering it's new to the area. The teriyaki wings I ordered were so good. They tasted freshly made. I also had a Zaxby's Cobb zalad. When we got to window the lady was friendly. My only disappointment was they don't make milkshakes. read more

Update: after a number of tries we have finally gotten everything straight! The app works, they take AMEX, and folks at the restaurant are still super nice and now serve me at the drive-thru. I have an affinity for drive thrus ESPECIALLY if the restaurant has an online ordering system. I've only been to a Zaxby's once and remember it was good so was looking forward to it. I tried in vain to order with the app - it kept telling me that my credit card was declined, so I said what the heck let's go order at the drive-thru like it's the 80s again. I expected to wait and was not disappointed. I tried to order on the website while waiting in the drive-thru and despite both the app and the website recognizing my American Express card, it said the card was declined. I drive a pretty small car. When I got to the speaker, which was placed next to a busy turnpike, it was about 3 feet higher than the top of my car. I turned off my car and had to yell my order because they could not hear me over the background noise I was hearing through her mic. When I got to the window, I handed the sweet girl the offending American Express card. She was gone for a moment and then came back and said that they don't take American Express. Good chicken sammies. Very yummy. Now, I'm not sure what I was expecting when we went in to eat. But, I wasn't expecting trays & paper plates, cups, fix your own drink as you pick up your packets of mayo, ketchup etc. Nothing wrong at all w/ that....I had never been in a Zaxby & it could have been like a KFC or Popeyes or Arby's but it's similar to Chick- Filet to me. Similar. Their sandwich was Delish & we both enjoyed our meal. The exterior reminded me of a sit dawn & someone takes your order. This was quicker & I put my flag up for table delivery. First time trying Zaxbys, First impressions they wanted to close and go home, they turned off the menu board lights in the middle of my oder when I told them I couldn't see the menu they said they are closing. Now the store hours say its open til 9:30pm I ordered at 8:10pm. So getting to the food. Honestly the chicken wasn't hot it was luke warm at best the fries were not even luke warm just kinda soggy and over salted just plain old tasting, im not sure if this is how Zaxbys is all the time or they cooked my food a half hour ago and they were just selling what they had leftover but it wasn't fresh or hot so I gave it 2 stars because it had good flavor and it might have been great if it was fresh, unfortunately I don't think I will try them again unless they replaced my cold dinner I had tonight. Actually my last two fingers I just had while writing this were to old and dry to eat. First time here. The staff were great, was welcomed and spoken with about the menu. I couldn't decide what I wanted because they don't really sell fried chicken. Just wings, tenders, salads and sandwiches. I went with the club sandwich. It wasn't that good at all. The piece of chicken was small, didn't even cover the bun. The chicken itself tasted like it was cooked in old oil. It was overcooked and dry. The sauce they put on it tastes gross. The sandwich flavor is very muttled. Too much stuff on it but nothing fresh like lettuce and tomato. By far the worst fast food chicken sandwich I've ever had and no, I don't like Chic fil A. The fries were limp. The price was high. I have $6 more on a gift card and a free 3 piece coming. After that, I won't go back. Too many great places to get good chicken. read more

It is a sad day when young workers become so disrespectful with your food order. Tonight, I stopped at this location to get 10 Naked Traditional Chicken Wings and Fried White Cheddar Bites. As I was giving my order, this tall young man, who was taking my order kept interrupting me during my order. After placing my order, he then tells another co-worker what he said, laughing as I couldn't hardly understand what he was saying because of his constant interruptions. When I got my order, I thank them and walked out. When I got to my car, I could smell sauce and I just knew that I had ordered wings with no sauce. Just as I thought, I received chicken wings with Zaxby's sauce. In the time that I have been purchasing chicken from this place, I have never ordered wings with any sauce nor have I ever been this disrespected. Not a bad lunch option if you want something different than Chick-Fil-A. The staff was friendly and prompt with taking my order. The Fried White Cheddar Bites were large and flavorful. I wished the chicken fingers were consistent in freshness, and I'm not even talking about between visits, I'm talking about during each visit. Yesterday, I ordered 10 fingers and 9 were fresh and smoking hot, but there was one old and cold. Then tonight, I ordered 5 and the first four was old and cold then the fifth one was smoking fresh and hot. I'm not big on complaining. Tonight I was fine with the first 4 old and cold tenders though remembering the fresh hot ones from the previous day. I didn't get upset until the last finger was fresh and hot. What can I say about Zaxby's other than that it's deep fried chicken deliciousness. I was introduced to this chicken joint over 15 years ago when it opened up in my college town of Greenville, NC. I fell in love with their tenders, fries, and Texas toast. Whenever my family would come to visit, I would insist they try Zaxby's. I am giving the particular Zaxby restuarant a one star, because a front line worker, was very rude, walked away from her job because she has hearing problems, and then when spoken to to me too "Kiss her a$$". This was completely rude and unacceptable. When I spoke to the manager, all she said is that I will talk to her. That too is unacceptable. This Zaxby is located on Tim Price way Midlothian VA. I've loved Zaxby's since I lived in Charlotte. After moving back to Richmond, I was happy to hear they were opening one by me on Midlothian. I visited this location on Saturday May 26th around noon and ordered my fav, the fried cheese bites. Of course I couldn't wait so as I pulled off, I opened the box and bit into one. It was still frozen. I sat it back in the box and tried another which was still frozen too. I took them back into the restaurant and told them what had happened. I left the frozen ones in the box just so they could see. One of the girls took the box and handed it to the cook...do you know they refried the same bites that I had brought back even the ones I bit into. I opened the box and saw that the frozen ones I had bit into, were still in the box but cooked more. I was even more disappointed as this was also a health concern. I told the female manager who seemed really annoyed that I wasn't happy...but nonetheless, they gave me a new order. Who does this? This was definitely not the experience I was looking forward to. Someone should also notify the health dept to avoid them taking food back and recooking it. read more
