Visiting family in Montgomery, I saw Zaxby locations throughout the city so we wanted to see what the fuss was all about. We ordered a chicken sandwich, club sandwich and fries. Good sized sandwiches, certainly not a snack portion. We found the entrees were extremely salty, so much so that we couldn't enjoy them. I thought it was just me (with respect to my salt sensitivity) and commented to my husband, who agreed the food was overly salty. We opted not to ask the staff to remake and I ate the French fries and enjoyed the sweet tea (which was really good). We didn't find Zaxby's to be anything special, the equivalent of small chains on the west coast but no star affect. Nonetheless Zaxby's appeared to be part of the fabric of Montgomery so we wanted to experience it as vacationers for ourselves. read more

Tried this as I was in Alabama and a friend recommended it to me. The chicken strips were decent, especially with the Spicy Zax sauce. The fries were old and honestly tasted like cardboard plus the seasoning was strange, kind of a sweet flavor. I echo the other comments here - it seems without a manager. This has got to be one of worst managed and ran Zaxby's. The Zaxby's app is a complete joke. You order and pay ahead but when you go to pick up your order, guess what you still have to wait in the drive thru lane. What's the point of the app! Absolutely ridiculous. Staff is rude. I've learned that not all Zaxby's are made equal. Some locations have too much salt and others use the perfect amount. This is our go to place when traveling and when we find one that makes the visit amazing we make sure to visit that location again. This location not only provided amazing customer service and freshly cooked food but their Arnold Palmer was TOP NOTCH!!!!!!! I can't express just how amazing it was. While I absolutely LOVE Zaxby's food. The service at this location left a lot to be desired. The staff at the register was so soft spoken that it was hard to hear her above the din of the overly loud music, and when asked what was in the Zensation Zalad... she didn't know what the ingredients were. "You can look at the picture" and gestured weakly to something about 8 feet away. It's appalling that someone doesn't know the ingredients of their food. Also, instead of counting change back, it was simply shoved into my hand without so much as telling me how much it should be or a thank you. THAT annoys me to no end. I came for dinner, and maybe my fault for getting take out, but I was not impressed at all. I have never had a bad experience with Zaxby's prior to this, so I'm hoping I just hit them at a bad time. I got a spicy sandwich that was pretty good, however, we got the fried mushrooms that were super soggy and zero flavor unless smothered in the ranch. Our drink order was incorrect, but our sizes were upgraded so you win some and lose some. The salad was okay, but we also received the wrong dressing. Overall loss but not giving up on them yet. read more

I always hit Zaxby's when we fly in from the West coast. No matter what I order, the spicy fried mushrooms will be in my list! They really don't know how to take order's, I came today order the grilled house salad with a side of fries. They got my order wrong the first time and I went back in and told them "I suppose to have a side of fries with my salad with my salad", so they tooled my order back and give me another salad. This time completely wrong order, they give me a fried house salad. Better off going to McDonald's; at less they can understand how to take correct order in time. read more

There are only four things wrong with this outlet: they don't understand "fast" (as in fast food), customer service, logistics, and how to prepare food. I thought there might be something wrong when I saw how slowly the drive through line was moving. As you have just read, it's more than just one thing. I spent 20 minutes waiting. But it wasn't a total loss. I got to see how this crew really enjoyed their work. They lounged around, talked, laughed. . .generally had a good time. Then they told me they had run out of their traditional sauce. Then they delivered fried mushrooms were just that: mushy. If you are the franchisee, or if you are considering trying to eat here, please know there are at least four competitors within 200 yards of this "restaurant." They are in business; evidently Zaxby's isn't. read more

got in the drive thru line at 7:30. I got to the front at 8:02 and was told we are closed. I understand you are closing early at 8 now but if a customer has been there for 30 minutes already, serve that customer. Don't go slow so you don't have much work to do. Horrible service read more

I go here for lunch on occasion and out of the 10 plus times I've been not once have they got my order right and everything in the bag! I ordered the boneless buffalo chicken and I really enjoyed it. They tasted great and were meaty and filling. My family order different flavored chicken wings and they did not like them. Our hotel was across the street from zaxbys and their drive thru line was ridiculous from the moment they opened till closing. So a lot of other ppl was loving their chicken too read more

All I wanted was a sweet tea, McDonalds next door was closed for the evening and Zaxbys was next door. Everyone had the same idea. I waited over 17 minutes in line for a tea and a side of cheese nibbles. I eventually gave up my position in line(bad mstake) and went inside. Another several minutes passed and I noticed the timer over the drive thru window. It was at 14 minutes!!!!! They had already started evening leaning and there were dirty mops and buckets behind the line, the water black. I eventually got my two items, only to find the cheese was cold and the tea was unsweetened!!! I usually loveZaxbys, but have noticed of late that the drive thru times are increasing and the food is not up to par. I did notice however that 2 employees had enough time to be enjoying something on their phones. There are other locations in town, so I see no reason to spend almost a half an hour for a wrong beverage and cold food. read more

Good service. I've been 4-5 times in the past 2 weeks and the workers have been really nice. My food is always mixed with hot fries and meh chicken or meh fries and hot chicken. I haven't had hot toast either, which is my favorite part. They put very, very little seasoning on the fries even when I pay a quarter extra for extra seasoning. read more
