Quite shameful to be honest. I left Las Vegas to come to Montgomery for work and looked ahead to make certain a Jason's Deli existed. After work on Friday I made my way there and you wouldn't guess what I found. Upon arrival at 5:15 PM I arrived to an empty parking lot with a letter posted by the city ordinance, I believed. Brunch before MRI appointment for hubby.... The counter associate was truly friendly. We ordered the manager special with soup . I'm still on the light meal due to the oral surgery, so the broccoli in the soup was tender enough for me to mash and swallow..... Me- turkey club/broccoli soup, hubby steak club/spicy gumbo soup . We always order to go. We usually order the make it yourself salads. They always make it plentiful. Lots of options. The gumbo is good for restaurant gumbo. I enjoy Jason's choices and have enjoyed various sandwiches. Just can t go wrong at Jason's. read more

I was excited to see the caprese panini on the menu since I was a fan of Panera's modern caprese sandwich. I don't live in the Montgomery area, and I don't have any restaurants near me that offer a caprese sandwich. It was a good panini. There were no qualities that made it above and beyond, but i also have no complaints about it. Though I have to add that if you are considerably hungry, this panini will not fill you up as it is smaller than the meaty sandwiches on the menu. I am a petite woman, and I ordered my food while my hunger was at a normal level. It sadly did not fill me up. I expected this from a panini. We waited a good 15 minutes for our food once we placed the order. It did not seem busy inside. My dad loved his Reuben, and my brother enjoyed his deli club. They both finished their sandwiches. I would come here again, but I would probably try a different menu item so that I do not have to order extra food to fill me up. This is a Deli - so first you order, and they bring it to your table pretty quickly. We love Jason's Deli and order our favorite each time - the manager's special with a half Reuben sandwich, chips, a one-trip salad bar (and free ice cream) for $8.69. As one who eats a gluten free diet, I appreciate Jason's having a delicious gluten free bread which enables me to enjoy a rare half (or whole) sandwich. Got the takeout salad for $10. Selection at the open salad bar was amazing for the price. This was my best meal purchase while in Montgomery for two weeks for work. Hard to find healthy food that keeps in a hotel fridge at an affordable price in the Deep South (mostly fried food down there). However, the young man working the counter was not courteous and if I was his employer he would receive some feedback and a warning for his nonchalant and dismissive behavior towards customers. I'm really glad Jason's Deli is doing so well. I used to come here all the time in college, then the quality went down a bit. But my sister came in from out of town and ordered food from here. It was really good. So I went back with my daughter and nephew and it's good again. Maybe management changed or ownership. But whatever happened it's nice to know I have a place to get a great bowl of soup and salad again. They also have some new menu items I might try. This recent busy I got a grilled cheese and cup of seafood gumbo. I like their gumbo because it doesn't have sausage in it. It's perfectly spicy and not too salty. These guys saved the day. No they really did. There was a tornado and storm headed our way so they closed early to let their employees get home to their families. But before they left they let us in the restaurant to buy a pound of chili to go and then we were on our way. We really needed a good chili base. Just threw the chili in the crock pot with one jar of jalapenos, juice and all, and let it simmer until lunch. Good stuff! The rest of their menu looked good too. read more

Stoped by here today as i was traveling to Montgomery. I had the royal club. The food was good and really liked the crescent roll it was served on. This place reminds me of a newks. I have to say service was pretty fast. Took all of 5 minutes to get the food.... Except mine. 4 people behind me got their food first... Even the guy i was with... After 17 minutes AND going to the counter to say ahhh you forgot my food... I was finally served. Tip for first time folks, you get free ice cream with your meal.. But after having the royal club there was not enough room. Having said all that i gave them 3 stars, food is good but not spectacular, service for the folks they did not forget, 4 stars.... This Jason's deli is near Woodmere Boulevard and Eastern Boulevard. Immediately when we walked in, we could tell that they took a lot of pride in keeping the restaurant clean. There was plenty of seating and this being a Jason's deli franchise it looked very similar all the rest. Every one of the restaurant employees were very polite. The young lady that took our order was very patient with us as we were indecisive about whether not we wanted soup. She even made some good suggestions for us. The person who delivered our plates did so with the big smile and asked us if there was anything else we would like. The sandwiches were very good and we also had a bowl of French Onion soup. We happen to be fans of pastrami on rye and were not let down. And I really enjoyed the French onion soup. We would definitely suggest this Jason's deli. read more

Wow! The salad bar is not only fresh and crisp but it's a trip around the world. So many great choices, spinach,olives,pickled veggies, nuts, real olive oil and basalmic vinegar besides all the usual goodies. My husbands Ruben sandwich was a tender meaty feast. Tried the beefeater this time and it was really good. Just a good plain sandwich: roast beef, provolone, mayo and a side of au jus. Really hit the spot for tonight. Wife and daughter had a half Rueben with cup of soup, broccoli an cheese and the Irish potatoe. Both were good the potatoe soup was nice and chunky with potatoes not all soup. The ingredients are remarkably high quality for a fast food place. They use thick chunks of grilled chicken in the chili. The lettuce is always vibrant green and the blue corn chips are Garden of Eatin brand. As you can see from the photo...it's a mammoth portion. I've never been able to finish the entire salad in one sitting. After checking their online nutrition calculator I know why. The fully loaded model with every topping comes out at 1000+ calories! But by cutting some of the add-ons (guac, sour cream, etc.) I can knock down the calorie count by a few hundred. They make it easy for you use the calculator to tweak menu offerings. I really like this Jasons deli location. It has recently been remodeled on the inside, and I like the ambience a lot more than I did before it was remodeled. This location seems to have quality people working there. Whether it is an order to go, or an order to stay in and eat, everything always seems to run smoothly. Orders are accurate, the salad bar is always stocked, and there are always people wiping down tables and making sure the restaurant is clean. Well, this is the best place to get a Reuben sandwich in Montgomery that I have found. They serve a substantial sandwich with all the right ingredients. I would prefer Thousand Island over Russian dressing, but it is livable. The kraut could be a bit stronger flavored as well. We usually have really good luck when we eat at a Jason's Deli. However, today, we tried a new sandwich, the muffaletta special. The sandwich came with a soup and we opted for the red beans and rice. The Muffuletta was pretty good, with a good olive spread, but it was not on Italian bread. The red beans and rice were almost flavorless. The next visit in to a Jason's, I will probably go for a different sandwich and soup. At this particular Jason's, we were impressed with the service, as one of the managers came by and wanted us to let him know if anything was not to our satisfaction. I came here on a Wednesday night, it was pretty quiet. Then again, it seems like more of a place for lunch then dinner since most of their offers are soups, salads,and sandwiches. The great thing about this place is that their menu offers lots of organic and vegetarian selections. They also like promoting non-high fructose corn syrup in their foods. I had a piping hot bowl of vegetable soup. It was a lot heartier than I expected with a ton of vegetables and barley. Here's the thing, me and/or my family eat at Jason's deli 3-4 times a month, so I'm praying tonight's experience was an anomaly and not the new norm. First off, it's obvious the cashier didn't want me to order anything, even though it was to go at 7:30pm. She wasn't "rude" she just wasn't even remotely friendly. And then once I had ordered they were SLOW. Over 20 minutes to make a sandwich and for the record, they weren't busy AT ALL. Less than a third full. I was even told that the name owner "Jason" was in the building, why would a place give worse service when the big boss was there? I am a huge salad fan, and this place has a great salad bar. It easily rivals that of Ruby Tuesday's, except the only meat on it is minced bacon. You have to pay extra for a serving of deli meat, and the portion is on the small side. The gnocchi and sausage soup is very tasty. Manager is extremely friendly and helpful, but the rest of the staff lacks the same passion. It's just a job to them, but I guess that's to be expected in a place like this.
