I had a great experience on a Friday night at the bar. The bartender was knowledgeable about the beer selections and provided quick service. There are some great beer options that you can level up with nitro. The pizza selections were somewhat overwhelming because there were so many familiar choices and I had a hard time picking one, but I opted for the chicken Gouda, which was a top tier choice. Plenty of chunks of chicken, with a smooth sauce, and nice crust. I ate the entire pizza because I could not get enough. The decor was very whimsical with their elephant logos throughout. I had lunch at Pies and Pints in Montgomery Alabama yesterday. We were seated and placed our order right away. It took about 15 minutes to get our food. Our server was very pleasant, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu items and made suggestions. We have eaten here before and had also had a wonderful experience. We had the Margarita pie and the marinated grilled chicken sandwich w/house salad. They were both impressive. They have outdoor and indoor seating (booths, tables and picnic tables). There's a large garage door that opens to bring outside in. The staff was nice and attentive. We started with the Nachos. They were different than any I'd ever had. The meat was made with a cream sauce. They get 5 stars and added to my rotation. Of course we had to try the pizza. The beer selection was great - 36 beers on tap, with a variety of local and far flung brews available. I had a couple local beers that I haven't been able to get in my hometown. The pizza was good - nice crust, and a variety of specialty pies that rivals some of the larger gourmet pizza chains. I tried a street corn pies with chicken added, and it was great. I went with a group of 10, and had a reservation. We waited a little bit, drinks too a bit, but when you have great service, an informative host, and amazing food, you're able to look past that. My nephew and I enjoyed a nice dining experience here at Pies and Pints. He loves cheese pizza and I went with a suggestion by our server Tyler (very attentive), the Chicken Gouda Pie. We also shared the Char-Grilled Hot Wings with Creamy gorgonzola. My nephew stated both his pizza and the wings were delicious! The Chicken Gouda is good with the bacon, Gouda cheese, red onions, chipotle crema, and scallions. However, to me, something is missing... maybe a little touch of sweetness could be added. Would I order it again, yes but maybe with some type of sweet dipping sauce. Oh and those wings were indeed delicious. I may ask for all flats if possible on my next visit, personal preference. Pies & Pints has some interesting specialty pies options which is what lured us in. The place was very busy on a Saturday night while a Tennessee vs. Alabama game was on. We placed a to go order for a large pie with two of their specialty offerings - street corn and Cuban pork. We also got the garlic bread with cheese. The quoted wait time was an hour. We arrived just before the hour was up and the pie wasn't ready. After an hour had passed, the pie still wasn't ready. When we finally got it, they had comped the cheese bread due to the wait. That was very nice. The flavor combinations here were excellent. The street corn side of the pie had all the fixings for a great elote including corn, tajin, parmesan, lime, cilantro, scallions, and chipotle crema. Unfortunately the second half of our pizza was incorrect. We ordered the Cuban pork but we got the pie and swine, which was bacon, feta, pineapple, red onion, and tomato sauce. This was a bit disappointing as was the sogginess on the bottom of the pie which I assumed came from the pineapple. The garlic bread was very good and Maybe we'll try this place again on a less busy day as I still want to try the Cuban pork pizza. read more

Out of the culinary oasis that is East Chase, our party decided on this one establishment mainly because we wanted beer and pizza (pretty good reasoning I believe). At first, we sat at the bar, which was clean and only had about six patrons (including us). However, the bartender, after handing us a menu, took his sweet time returning to take our order. Although he was the only one working the bar, that didn't stop him from attending to and immediately waiting on the two attractive females that sat directly next to us (did I mention they arrived after us). Finally, about 10-15 minutes later he returned to take our order. I am powerless when it comes to scotch ales and their "Old Chub" (yeah, that's the name) was delicious. Also, they had a great selection of other various beers both on tap and bottled/canned. After the rest of our party arrived, we sat at a table where the service was amazing. Our waiter kept our glasses full and never missed a step. We ordered the flatbread with goat cheese (it's the picture that looks like ice cream with chocolate sauce and triangular bread). I didn't have any but my friend said it was just ok. However, I did have the entire 10" chicken gouda pizza, which was quite tasty. One of our party members got the regular cheese pizza and remarked that it was soggy (just FYI). Nevertheless, I enjoyed my pie and would go back again just based on that experience. Side notes: the bathrooms are clean but small. Most of the staff wear masks. They have indoor, outdoor, and enclosed patio seating; however, each is limited. The indoor seating is needless to say the largest of the three with benches, booths, and tables. Although this is a smaller venue than most pizza and beer joints, it still has a great atmosphere with sports on the tubes and people around you enjoying themselves. Enjoy. read more

9/29 lunch visit. Great place to stop for quality pizza, served by the slice (for lunch), as 10" or 16" whole pies. Place is clean inside and out on the patio. They offer a ton of TV's so it's likely pretty busy on game days. Host was friendly and got us seated pretty quickly. The server was friendly as well and knowledgeable of the menu and beer selection. I love this place. I was honestly very hesitant to go here because people I know had said it was not good but I'm so glad I tried this. The inside has good seating and feels like a great vibe. It can be loud at times but I'm sure that's really only during the weekends and even then it didn't really bother us. The best part about it all is that you can sample as many of their drafts as they have (for free!). I recommend their cider I would like to highlight the amazing Waiter we had the last time we visited; Quinton (unsure of the spelling). This was my (and my wife's) first time to eat here. My wife said that her small Cauli Breakfast pizza (cauliflower crust) was probably the best pizza she's ever had in her life! My daughter and I shared a half & half large Margherita/Pine & Swine, and it was perfectly cooked and ridiculously good! (Half & half is only available with a large pie.) She asked for some Ranch dip for hers, but they don't have it. Waiter Samuel brought some Gorgonzola dip, and it was good, but, if he had told us it was Ranch dip, we wouldn't have known the difference. I got some of that and some marinara for myself. Samuel kept our drinks full, and he got us to go boxes for our pizza we didn't eat & lids for our leftover sauce, as well as to go drinks, when we were ready to leave. He checked us out up front, as I used Apple Pay on my phone. Our only problem was our seating location. We were inside, but the garage door that separates the inside from the outside was open, and either a strong breeze from outside or the fan above us (to keep out the bugs) or a combination of both made us feel like we were trying to eat during a hurricane. It was blowing our napkins, straw papers, menu all over the place and kept my girls relatively cold throughout our meal. I imagine it also caused our pizza to cool off faster than it might have otherwise. I suppose we could have insisted on being reseated, but we didn't. That small issue wouldn't keep us from coming back, but it will ensure that we choose a different seating location the next time we come. Be aware--this place is good, but it's not cheap! Our two pizzas and three drinks (no alcohol) set us back $69 (including tax & tip). read more

Since I learned about this place, I've been eager to try it. I've been looking for a nearby pizza place that isn't a chain and delivers on flavor. I ordered a half truffle shuffle and half Margherita to go. The crust is very good and I really liked the truffle shuffle half of the pizza. The Margherita half, not so much. Pizza Margherita is my favorite pizza of all time. I was disappointed that they used tomato sauce instead of fresh tomatoes and skimped big time on the fresh basil. And, where was the fresh Parmesan (preferably Parmigiano Reggiano) and buffalo mozzarella. Burrata would even be a nice touch. The decor is pretty kewl. The husband was really happy that he got to get a tasting of the beers before picking chi's choice. He is into hops beers.
