We were really hungry when we came in so I suppose if you're really hungry you might appreciate it - but like it? Can't imagine. Oh and one of the staff ran across the street for tacos, so while we didn't go so can't recommend it, I think the staff would recommend the taco place. I ordered corned beef and cabbage and an order of lemon pepper chicken wings they were accommodating as far as giving me flats only and the chicken wings were awesome kind of a little lemony but that's the expected with lemon pepper rub. The corned beef and cabbage I liked except the corned beef was very dry the cabbage was good and my roommate had a black bean quesadilla that she said was delicious so if you ever want to go they're good they're a little hole in the wall in Georgia that we happened to stumble upon and we enjoyed it. read more

We ordered our lunch on 4/30/25. There was basically the only server. She also tended bar. We had a fish sandwich and a Reuben. When we were ordering, she said our main entree came with one side. My wife ordered sweet potato fries and I ordered a salad. (Mind you she said " Your entry "comes" with one side. So I asked her what side do I can I choose from? So I chose a salad. So we're eating our lunch and by the way, she's not very attentive at all. I asked her to get me some extra thousand island dressing for my Reuben and waited 6 minutes before I had to remind her and she says "oh I forgot". Before you go to this restaurant you better read the fine print because I'm gonna put up what it says and what we were charged. But we're not gonna go back there so it doesn't matter and by the way, she got no tip. Her tip was the three dollars and two dollars that they charged us For something that was supposed to come with a meal without charge. So anyway the food is good. The service is bad. What a horrible experience! We arrived and the young lady gave us directions to the upstairs patio for dining. We were greeted by another college aged girl who was very nice and pointed us in the right direction. We seated ourselves and then proceeded to wait for a server...and we waited..and waited...for 30 minutes. The server finally arrived and said "I tried my bes to avoid you all, but now I'm here". Okay, that may be a fine way to act with your college cronies, but my husband and I are far from college aged. She asked for our drink order and we ordered Bud Lite and Boston Lager. She stated she was the bartender but didn't know about Boston Lager. She then trotted off. We waited...for 10 more minutes, then decided to leave. She came after us and said we would need to pay for the beer. Nope! Servers, the least you can do is know your audience and be halfway professional. First off want to say I really like this establishment. I've been coming here for 8+ years now. We get great service and mostly sit at the bar when we come. I only have a complaint about the boneless wings. I've given the boneless wings multiple chances but I can't anymore. They lack actual chicken in the cuts, extremely salty, and fried way too hard. They "chicken" pieces feel like chicken jerky. The picture I have uploaded is what I am taking home to feed to my dogs and I ate the pieces that I could because I was really hungry. From previous positive reviews, I have to say we were disappointed. I can completely respect that it's probably a fun place to hang out, eat appetizers and drink beer with your friends. I, too, was young once, and had low standards. Lunch sucked, frankly. The bartender/server, bless her heart, probably meant well, but as an old school server (OSS) from back in the day, I chalk the not-so-great service up to lack of training. I'm pretty forgiving. She was pleasant and kept our glasses filled. I believe my date tipped her well, because he's not a jerk. I'll leave it at that. First of all, this place is an accident waiting to happen. Our barstools were literally starting to fall apart. If I was a large person I would not want to sit in those chairs. They're going to collapse one day. My date used the restroom. He said the hardwood floor leading to the restrooms was slick with oil from the kitchen, and to be careful if I went up there. We each had a house salad (fresh, good sized, tasty; the prep cooks might want to consider tearing the lettuce into smaller chunks, not chopping it into large chunks), an order of good jalapeño poppers, and split an order of the greasiest, grossest fish and chips ever. Literally swimming in a pool of grease. I used two napkins to blot the grease off. We gamely tried to eat it but couldn't. (Service note: our server checked on us to see if all was good, good on her, before we tried the fish. An OSS would notice when picking up plates that the main dish was blotted, picked at, and abandoned. In fact, an OSS wouldn't have carried that disgusting plate to the table to begin with). Finally, apparently there is a surcharge for credit card purchases, too, that is a bonus surprise when you get the bill. We saw that nowhere in the menu up front. My date did not show me the tab, so I don't know how much it was, but that alone would keep us from coming back. We would've gotten better fish and chips at Captain D's. read more

Naaaaah man. This place isn't good. I mean, the town seems to not have many options, but this is a not-good one. Our waitress seemed 'inconvenienced' by our presence. The jalepeno poppers are listed to come with chips and salsa, but when they arrived without the salsa and we requested it, she seemed perplexed that we would want what was posted on the menu. She even said, "We've always served it without." She brought it to us, but was visibly annoyed that we wanted what was advertised. We didn't get a pleasant interaction with our server until she came to notify us that her shift was over and we insisted on closing our tab so that we could tip her out. If I was asked of one place to avoid in downtown Carrollton, Ga, it would be this place. The food was so bad I was having to hold my stomach trying to get it down. The service was extremely slow and nothing about this meal was worth the $15-17. The food was cold, the chicken was chewy and there was something questionable in the bottom of the sweet tea. I also slammed my foot in the door and started bleeding out. Maybe I should have held the door open longer, but I expected it to stay open, just as any door would. There should at least be a stopper. We have eaten at the Pub several times over the past 3 years. Previously, the food and service have been good. We dined in on a Sunday at 11:30am. We waited over an hour and 30 minutes for our food. The manager came out and apologized for the wait. Once we received our food, it was cold and rubbery like it sat under a warmer for a while. I'm sad that the service has gone down, but more concerned with the safety of the food at this point. There are regulations for food service and safe serving temperatures. Nice location. We sat upstairs on the balcony and what a great view of the little town. Even on a hot day, it was cool enough under the ceiling fans & in the shade to enjoy al fresco. I was disappointed in the menu. Classic Irish items like bangers and mash - what I was hoping to eat - was missing from the menu. They also use Basa/Swai [garbage fish] for the fish and chips, instead of cod or haddock. We started with an order of onion rings, which is actually a side. They were out of a box, but beer battered so they had a good flavor and there were enough to share between two people. I had the Rueben - which they call a Kerry, but it doesn't make it any more Irish. It was perfect! Thick slices of corned beef, ample dressing & sauerkraut, served on toasted marble rye. It was a large sandwich and it came with a large amount of fries. My biggest problem was the service was terribly slow. We were there on a late Saturday afternoon, long after lunch and long before dinner, but it took forever for our waitress to get anything done. We had to ask someone else if they'd check on our food & refill drinks, because we hadn't seen her in 30 minutes. I'd try it again, but not if I wanted Irish food. This is my fave place to grab some brews out here in town. Most restaurants have come and died around here but not this one... it's been here for a while now. I havent eaten much of their stuff but whatever I have tried, so far it is pretty ok. I havent had any bad experience with the staff or the place. Me n hubby usually come here with friends over pitchers of beer and a good time. They recently added a balcony on the second floor so that more people can sit outside and we enjoy it. They dont have a large selection of beer, but Im more of a domestic beer kinda gal so it is all good. Now, on Thursday night this place can either be a fun or bad experience for ya. When I was a freshman in college this was the spot for me! haha, dancing and downing shots, and thats how other freshman kids feel about this place till this day. When you go here nowadays, the place is really loud and the upstairs dance floor is now smells like desperate sex and cigarette smoke... which depending on what night it is for you, this maybe fun haha. Was out for a friends birthday last night and chose to give Irish bred pub some of our business as we bar hopped for the night. We were there for a few hours having food and drinks. We left to try out a few more places but before calling it a night we stopped back by for a quick restroom visit and to possibly have one more drink. During this time the bartender started yelling at our group shouting to "get the F out"! Apparently they had closed and we had no clue that was the case. It was completely uncalled for and sudden. Very unprofessional for an employee to shout obscenities at paying customers. Very disappointing end to our night. Food was below mediocre and drinks were over poured. Saturday, a group of us from work decided to go to the Pub for some drinks. We arrived just as they began carding people at the door. The youngest person in our group is 21. The employee at the door looked at his license and said it was okay to go in. As my friend began walking, the employee pushed him back out the door, laughing, saying his license was fake as sheet. We told him it was a real license, and he told us to quit bothering him and to leave. The other employee scanned the card, and confirmed it was indeed real and our friend was of age, which he is. The problem employee never apologized, just mumbled some profanity under his breath and backed up to let us in. At this point, we decided to go somewhere else- to a place that would treat their customers with respect. The most ironic thing about the situation is that I see constant images on social media of people that I know are underage, but at the pub drinking. Yet everyone in our group is of age and not allowed in? Nonsense. The Irish Pub is normally a good place to eat and socialize.
