This is not what I expect in a "Chop House". If you go here expecting premium cuts you will be disappointed. Ordered a ribeye cooked medium. Got a thin steak, cooked medium well to well done. I'm sad to leave a bad review because I want this place to be successful but my experience was absolutely horrible. The food was flavorless and over priced. Worse, some of it was undercooked and the meat seemed expired. We got the onion blossom and an appetizer sampler with fried pickles, street corn, egg rolls and everything was gross. The pork in the egg rolls seemed expired and had no seasoning. The pickles were okay but barely breaded. The onion blossom had uncooked batter. The staff was nice enough but the ambiance is just so unpleasant--like a hospital cafeteria with fluorescent lights. They need a new chef, new menu, and some interior decorating. read more

First off, this building is too awesome for such a mediocre restaurant. Please step up your food, quality, and service!!!...or close and let someone else have this awesome building. We started with two appetizers: BBQ egg rolls and deep fried deviled eggs. The egg rolls were soggy and but had a fair flavor; however, the fried deviled eggs were really good. I'd definitely eat them again, but I'd probably struggle finding anything else to eat. The steak may have been the worst piece of meat I've ever eaten. There were three at my table and we all agreed that the steaks were bad! There were super tough, inconsistent flavor, and pretty thin. I personally don't think I'd ever eat there again. read more

If you visited last year and weren't impress, you need to give them another try. Under new management, the service and food was excellent. My litmus is if they can produce a grilled chicken sandwich that isn't overcooked, tough and dry. The chicken was amazing, juicy and flavorful. The atmosphere was inviting and the service top notch. I'd encourage everyone to try it for lunch or dinner. I'm convinced you will go away pleased with the experience. read more

Terrible service Walked on on a Saturday four empty tables yet was told they are starting a waitlist and would be 15 mins. Well after 49 searched a 5 people walk right in and be seated at the same empty table that was there forty mins earlier walked in and they said sorry they had a reservation and kitchen overload. Went with six couples for dinner and had a great time. We had two excellent apps, bang(?) shrimp, and filet wrapped in pastry. For dinner I had the salmon, which was quite good, and tried a couple bites of filet mignon - incredible steak. Our sever Daviana was excellent. Ate here for lunch today and had the 1/2 soup 1/2 salad. Chophouse stew was great and grilled chicken salad was excellent. Chicken was tender and flavorful. Not very busy for lunch which was great for us. Waitress brought us extra steak for my wife's black and blue salad. This no true steakhouse. More like Golden Corral than Outback or Texas Roadhouse. Yet, their prices are just as high. The ribeye was boneless and thin like it was pounded like a cube steak. The hamburger steak was tough and dry. The sweet potatoes were under baked. On a positive note, the Sampler app. was great. The service was very good also. I like good bread, but these rolls were thin and too sweet. I'd like to try the pork chops. Hopefully, they are thick and juicy, not like something you get at Waffle House. Wow. Ignored at the bar throughout my meal and mediocre food with little flavor is the short version. I am sure the married guy at the bar is a better tipper than I am or at least he is now. The space I loud open and it seems like they must have ran out of money when it came to the flatware. I think it is the second hand stuff from the local high school. Everyone was very nice and attentive while we were being seated and served dinner. We ordered the appetizer sampler because there were so many interesting options - we had the fried pickles (they are cut very thin and fried crisp), the BBQ egg rolls (perfect combo of pulled pork, cheese, grilled onion and drizzled with bbq sauce), and the fried deviled eggs. I have never seen fried deviled eggs on a menu before, but more places should follow the Chophouse's lead on this. They were fantastic, perfectly coated with the delicious filling on top. Late evening arrival at Carrollton for a talk the next day. Spotted this place across from my hotel, and didn't look "chain-y", so, I walked over to check it out. Not many folks there when I arrived, and I asked to see a menu. Reasonably priced steaks and such, and, hostess was rather new. Waitress walks past, "TRY THE PORK CHOPS!" "Really? OK." Of course they were plump and juicy and perfectly cooked. Chef came out and I told him so - by the time I was getting through my meal, almost no one was there, so I was able to chat with the staff. Vegetables. I tried the baked sweet potato and the broccoli. Both excellent. Can't recall what the broccoli was seasoned with, and, it was tasty. Waitress came out with a huge side of brussels sprouts, "these are extra, there yours if you want them." Five years living in Brussels, I'm not about to pass up the petit chou. These were perhaps broiled and then deep-fried, then sprinkled with something like honey and bacon? I said they make you want to slap Grandma. A nice malbec with my meal, and a cordial bartender, and then finished the meal with cheesecake with raspberry. All in all, a wonderful evening and a surprisingly delightful experience. This is our second visit to CC, on our first visit we ordered the pork chops and the collards which I would highly recommend. On our most recent visit we were seated fairly quickly for a Friday night but then had to wait for an hour for our entrees to be served. This time we decided to try their steak which was no where near as good as the pork chops. The filet had good flavor but was cold by the third or fourth bite and the ribeye also had good flavor but was mostly gristle and difficult to eat. Really enjoyed the industrial design inside the restaurant. Appetizers were very good, we did the sampler with the fried deviled eggs, fried pickles, and fried green tomatoes. For dinner my wife had the ribs and mac & cheese, I had the ny strip with grilled corn, both meals were fantastic. The steak was perfectly cooked and the ribs fell right off the bone. We got the crème brûlée and peanut butter pie for dessert, both were good but the sugar on the crème brûlée was burnt but the pie was very good. Our server did excellent job and was on top of everything we needed. Great place, we will definitely be back. This is a relatively new place in Carrollton that I haven't tried until today - mainly because of lackluster reviews I'd heard immediately after the place opened. I decided to give them some time to work out bugs before going. And that day was today. I can't comment on the consistency of this place yet. But what I do know is that I had one of the best steaks I've ever had at a restaurant. It was cooked perfectly and the hickory flavor was fantastic. There was only one other place nearby in Douglasville, GA (Alpine Steak House) that had as good a steak, and it's been closed for several years now. My wife's steak was cooked perfectly, as well, and the sides were fine. Service was great as well as the atmosphere. I'll be back. read more

Revisited since my last review with no noticeable improvements, and perhaps even worse service. While staff is mildly friendly, the ineptitude continues with person who delivered entrees not knowing how steaks were cooked (two in the party ordered the same food but each ordered steak cooked differently) and shrugging when asked until we offered to figure it out ourselves. Appetizer ordered was not as described on menu in ingredients or number of pieces. Service still very slow, especially with drinks, which were not delivered at the same time for all in party. Staff dress still sloppy and dirty. Four filets ordered and all looked completely different and *thin* - poor butchering and mine was unevenly cooked. Plates were served without garnish and did not look appetizing; Mac & cheese side was flavorless. Side salad decent. One area of improvement from first review -- the menus are now proper menus! Glad to see the printed paper menus gone! Sadly, this experience was lackluster and I won't be back if I can avoid it. There are better places at this price point. read more

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here recently, and it was an all-around fantastic experience. I have to say the food was absolutely delicious. From the hand rolled BBQ egg rolls to the Cajun salmon. NY Strip was very flavorful and the winner of the night were the Sweet & Spicy Collard Greens. Drove by and the "small town" look of a revised old store/factory was amazing. It was graduation weekend and they were lined up for some parties that had reserved spaces. The hostess that greeted us was very personable and polite. The service from our Waiter (Logan) was amazing, he asked if we had never been there and when finding out it was our first time to visit took the time to explain what the menu items were and what he recommended. We ordered the Sampler with fried devil eggs/pickles/eggrolls... then we were surprised with the Bread rolls with the Cinnamon/sugar mixture (which was worth it's weight in gold). French onion soup was very well balanced in flavor and served well with the cheese and salty flavor that it is suppose to have. Then the appetizer showed up and let me explain just how quickly the wife and I had to discuss who was getting the 3rd fried deviled egg because it was amazing. Then the main courses made it to the table and the Pork chops that Logan recommended were spot on...... soft/juicy and melted as you ate them. The ribeye was cooked to perfection as ordered medium Rare(the only way to order it imo) The whole time we sat and enjoyed the meal we just were in awe ambiance and atmosphere that was there. I surely will return for future visits and enjoy my experience. We didn't get to sit out on the patio but let me tell you that the next chance we go we will. I will also say that the hostess who delivered our appetizer Turn out to be one of the owners... which made the visit even better. You have such a great restaurant and to see you get in the mix with your staff was a refreshing experience.
