Everything was tasty, we had a mix of food from salmon to burgers with onion rings. Looks like a fun place for under 30's crowd to play bar games read more

What a wonderful lunch today!!! The food was amazing - everything we ordered was deelish - especially the salmon BLT and the KFC (korean bbq) chicken sandwich! The staff were so kind and attentive. Highly recommend for a great meal while in Carrollton! read more

A lot of people go here the burger tastes like freezer burn meat, fries not warm but they have fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles

One of the newer restaurants on the square and my wife and I have them some time to get things ironed out and when we finally tried it, we were not disappointed! The burgers were juicy and beefy and the special Burgers are unique! We got the fried Brussels sprouts and now we've tried them multiple times at home as a copycat recipe because they were phenomenal. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Chip's. read more

The food was great, it was very busy when I went, and we ate upstairs at the bar , the bartender was personable and very attentive. She handled our order as well as multiple others. Though we did not have many drinks she was as professional and courteous with us as she was to those spending much more. The burgers were perfectly cooked a nd very delicious. Simply put it wasn't just a burger that you get At Applebees. It was an experience in a fun atmosphere by people, who craft an experience that will keep you coming back. read more

Super service , good food ! We liked their basic burger , nice size and nice taste . Will go back !

The ambiance was very welcoming and inviting. The food was great. I got it to go and still enjoyed it once I got home. I have the drink special while I was waiting on my food and it was so good that I wished I had eaten in so I could have another. The service was also great. I will definitely be coming back read more

Always the best burger and the Brussel sprouts are so good! Chips is always my first choice when I want a burger.

If you're looking for a quality burger and sides with a cool ambiance, this ain't it. This is big city prices, and small town taste. It's still a somewhat new place, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that they're still working through the growing pains when it took everyone in the place about an hour to get their food. I waited eagerly that it was just a really good burger being seasoned and grilled and enjoyed some pimento cheese balls and a boozy shake in the meantime (both of which were decent enough.) When food did arrive, the best adjective I could use to describe it was "bland". The meat has barely any taste with no seasoning, same with the fries which was a tiny basket of tasteless and almost burnt fries. I'm also curious if they're even cooking up fresh ground beef and not frozen patties. The worst part is the insane price for all this. Inflations bad, but if you're going to charge close to $60 for a two person meal in Carrollton, especially burgers, it better be GOOD. Decor wise, it's also kind of a mess downstairs as they left a lot of the wooden rustic feel of Plates alone and the other half is a weird 50s burger diner with neon and black tile, seems to clash. Upstairs seems roughly the same vibe as Plates but with oddly placed bar games throughout, so at least the college crowd can keep the place afloat with beer and liquor purchases as they wash down those bland burgers. The other funny part is going up front to order and being prompted to leave a tip, but then finding out it's self clean? What? I don't like to be that person, but if I'm going to overspend on burgers, fries and a shake, I'll hit up 5 Guys or Shake Shack. read more

I was really hoping that this place would take the place of empire grill. If you lived in carrollton long then you'll remember empire grill on the square a great little burger place. However, Chip's Burgers sadly isn't empire grill. Maybe I was hanging on the nostalgia of the old but the burgers didn't do it for me. I did like different choices of meats such chicken beef and salmon and the different creations and sides, but the prices along with the bland flavor was underwhelming. The prices weren't made known apart from the menu and was comparable to Five Guys. Although it was a nice experience, it did not meet my expectations. Sigh. read more

Came here with my wife for lunch on a Friday afternoon, so expected it to be pretty busy. Upon arrival, we noticed it was pretty empty. The restaurant itself looked fine and was clean. We both built our own burgers and ordered fries and fountain drinks. The total was roughly $40. Keep in mind, this is what you'll pay at Five Guys, so we expected an excellent burger. While we waited for the food (which took longer than it should) I went to use the restroom. It was clean, but the lighting was so low, I actually tried to flip the switch up thinking it was off. When the food finally came out, it was presented nicely. Burgers looked big and cheese was nice and melted. The fries looked crispy. The food itself was a completely different story. The burgers were cooked well done, but were over cooked. The meat had no seasoning and the buns were left in the toaster for too long. Definitely a disappointing experience. I didn't expect a top 5 burger, but for those prices, I expected something better than I'd find at a hospital cafeteria. Skip this place and get a better burger next door at the Irish Bred Pub. read more

Yup... this is my new favorite burger spot! What a great burger. Juicy and full of flavor. The chef put some serious love in their cooking. Even the to go packaging was not basic. I walked up to Chips burger bar on a Saturday afternoon around 4:45 pm. It was a Samford Bulldogs game day. We were greeted by a lovely lady and welcomed into a beautiful burger joint with ambient vibes. As we read the extensive menu, we decided on trying the fried pickle chips and two BYOB. We took a seat, shortly after arrived our pickle chips. We agreed these were wonderful. The chipotle ranch was wonderful. Our BYOB were great too. But, like Alex C. warned us, the burgers were a tad dry. The bun could've been more moist. We decided to finish off with some shakes. This brought our rating back up. The service was amazing. read more

It takes a lot of balls to open a burger joint since everyone has had a memorable burger at one point in their life. I like a good burger and was hoping for the best. First negative: ketchup packets instead of bottles at the table. Come on man! A sit down place at this price level should not be handing out packets like a McDonalds to go order. The Burger: I decided to do a simple burger to get a good taste of the burger without being covered up with all the offerings. So pickles onions cheddar cheese was my choice with a medium beef patty. The burger came out cooked well. It was pleasant to look at but stiff and a relatively thin patty. Not very impressive at all. I got the tater tots as a side and they were good. Would have been great if I didn't have to rip open a ketchup packet every three tots. Overall my rating is nothing special giving it a 5 out 10. I hope they look at reviews and try to improve as the location is really nice and it would always be good to get a good burger. I would suggest the owner drive the cooks up to somewhere like Lucky's Burger in Roswell and try to replicate their quality. read more

Although it just opened i have had the chance to try the amazing food & meet the wonderful owners. Very hands on & really wanting to make an impact on the local community. Great vibes, nice balcony, array of crafted cocktails; a very refreshing scene on the Carrollton square. For a burger joint I have never seen so many options: Gluten free, lettuce wraps, vegan cheese, you name it, they have it! Don't even get me started on the boozy shakes...out of this world!! Will definitely be going back to try more, perfect place for families or for an upscale bar scene. Excited to see how the business grows in the coming times! read more

This place has potential but unfortunately fails in the kitchen. The girl who took our order was nice and informative. When our food came out my burger was 1/2 raw 1/2 well done. I guess if you combine the two it would've been the medium temp I ordered. Mediocre at best. read more

My wife and I thought we'd give it a try for lunch Saturday 4/30/22. I understand its a Bar and I enjoy music but it was just too loud. It's a Saturday afternoon with families and people trying to chat while they eat but a near impossible task leaving you practically yelling at each other, we had difficulty ordering. The food wasn't bad although the fries and union rings were a bit greasy, maybe the deep fryer wasn't hot enough. The burgers was hot on arrival, all the food was hot, the burger was cooked good for me, not dry though the fresh add-ons they skimped on to the point I had to look to see what I had. The chocolate milkshake however was very good. I would eat there again but I wouldn't drive out of my way to do it and if I did make the drive I probably would choose something else since I can make a better burger at home. Second thought the shake may be worth the drive. It would do them well to remember, its a Burger Bar not a nightclub. If the atmosphere were more inviting, that could potentially change the entire experience. read more

John Taffer would be pissed. Pretty sure it's a bubba burger. This place is actually worse than plates, won't last long. Thick, dry, nasty gray meat mass between cold buns. Up all night with heartburn. read more

Decide to check out this spot on a Friday evening. It was pretty busy but service was fast and friendly. There is seating downstairs and upstairs. Upstairs has a full bar and balcony seating to view the square. Upon entering, the menu is hanging on the wall. There are also printed menus available. I ordered the Double Patty Swiss Burger Combo. You can select between a single or a double patty on any of the sandwiches. It came with Swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms, sautéed onions, bacon, lettuce, mayo and mustard. Included in the combo was a cup for drinks and a small bag of fries. They have free refills for the drinks. The burger was big, with thick hand-made burger patties. They included a knife on the tray, which came in handy to cut the burger in half. It was seasoned well and very tasty. The fries were hot and just the right amount of crispy crunch. There is a condiment table, near the drink section, if you need it. They have a small drink selection. I opted for sweet tea and lemonade to make an Arnold Palmer. The high ceilings amplify the noise in this little spot. So it will be loud. There is ample seating with lower and hi-top tables. On the first floor, there is a small outdoor seating section as well. read more

Ordered Chips from DoorDash. Ordered 3 burgers. All three burgers were wrong. Burger one was missing an egg and pickles however it had BBQ sauce that was not requested. Burger two had pickles added to a plain burger which was wrong. The third burger was only missing the pickles. To some it's not a big deal however to others with allergy issues and or picky kids it's not good service. The kettle chips were hit or miss. They didn't seem cooked long enough due to them being floppy. The fry's were the same not cooked enough. read more

Not recommended. $35.00 for two hamburgers, two orders of tater tots, a Coke and a peanut butter milkshake. Barbeque sauce instead of catsup added 50¢, and grilled onions on my burger instead of raw onions was another 50¢. Plus, it was an additional 50¢ (not stated) because I wanted a peanut butter milkshake instead of chocolate or vanilla. They had a half-off special on milkshakes but I still got charged full price for unexplained reasons. The hamburger was a disappointment. It was tasteless and tough. read more

Meh. Underwhelming decor, but the concept was really good. The service was overwhelmed and seemed confused, polite but rushing around with seemingly no sense of direction. Food was the worst and will never return because of it. The burgers were stale although the restaurant was busy, the fries cold. The price? More than reasonable if the food was fresh, but it wasn't. Hard pass. read more

I really wanted to enjoy this place. It seem like a great idea but the execution to this point has been lacking. The burgers aren't as good a lot of the places right around it. Was so excited to try this place, hoping for a gourmet burger restaurant that's not in Atlanta, but left very disappointed. The food was overly priced for not having table service and the burgers weren't juicy or flavorful. The bun was cold. No napkins or condiments on the tables, had to get our own from a self service table, as well as plastic silverware and soft drinks. Not sure if I'll give it another try or not. However, with that said, the service was great and the staff were very friendly. read more
