First time here! Loved the set up inside, eat upstairs or down. Friendly staff. They walked me through the menu and we put together a great order. I enjoyed fried green tomatoes appetizer--amazing. Loved the blue cheese crumbles! Then ordered the chipotle burger with tots and a milkshake! Really glad I stopped in to check this place out!! Thank y'all!

One of the newer restaurants on the square and my wife and I have them some time to get things ironed out and when we finally tried it, we were not disappointed! The burgers were juicy and beefy and the special Burgers are unique! We got the fried Brussels sprouts and now we've tried them multiple times at home as a copycat recipe because they were phenomenal. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Chip's.

It was the typical burger place. I really enjoyed the t fried green tomatoes. Burgers were kinda big . Only give it a 3 because the wait time and the staff has to back and forth down stairs when you need something

Blue ridge Burger or something, it's so tasteless I can't remember.

If you're looking for a quality burger and sides with a cool ambiance, this ain't it. This is big city prices, and small town taste. It's still a somewhat new place, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that they're still working through the growing pains when it took everyone in the place about an hour to get their food. I waited eagerly that it was just a really good burger being seasoned and grilled and enjoyed some pimento cheese balls and a boozy shake in the meantime (both of which were decent enough.) When food did arrive, the best adjective I could use to describe it was "bland". The meat has barely any taste with no seasoning, same with the fries which was a tiny basket of tasteless and almost burnt fries. I'm also curious if they're even cooking up fresh ground beef and not frozen patties. The worst part is the insane price for all this. Inflations bad, but if you're going to charge close to $60 for a two person meal in Carrollton, especially burgers, it better be GOOD. Decor wise, it's also kind of a mess downstairs as they left a lot of the wooden rustic feel of Plates alone and the other half is a weird 50s burger diner with neon and black tile, seems to clash. Upstairs seems roughly the same vibe as Plates but with oddly placed bar games throughout, so at least the college crowd can keep the place afloat with beer and liquor purchases as they wash down those bland burgers. The other funny part is going up front to order and being prompted to leave a tip, but then finding out it's self clean? What? I don't like to be that person, but if I'm going to overspend on burgers, fries and a shake, I'll hit up 5 Guys or Shake Shack.

This is easily the best burger I have gotten without going inside the perimeter. Killer fries and i am not a fry lover. Super nice staff and everything taste fresh. Just surprised at the quality and honestly the price is very reasonable for flavor and quantity of food. Definitely going to be going through this menu a few times.

Fantastic burgers and the Brussel sprouts are amazing !!! Lila's lemonade is a perfect cocktail and beer on tap is also a huge plus.

"There's something magical about rooftops. You feel like you're in 'Mary Poppins."…read moreGeorge Clarke There really is something special about being on a rooftop on a perfect summer evening, and it's great to have it right in downtown Sugar Hill. I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

We walked around and finally ran into a waitress who told us to sit anywhere we wished inside or outside. The only area festive was inside a closed igloo and no heaters were on outdoors which was just a tad too cool for me despite the super nice weather that day. It would have been so to sit outside but without the warmth of the heaters we headed inside. We placed our order and explained we were just there for a pre-dinner drink and wanted to check out the venue so we didn't leave our tab open but we were quickly served the fabulous taking drinks on their menu(s). The Old Fashioned was on the regular menu and the Russian was on their seasonal tabletop menu. Server was very nice and took photos for some ladies we met. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star is they claim they are big on hospitality but yet we were not acknowledged upon arrival. Many restaurants and even some retail stores have a way to ensure they say hello/welcome immediately when you enter and without a hostess - the mindset should be that the bar or wait staff have a way to immediately say hello or welcome so those who have never been feel welcomed as well as those who frequently come. It would be nice to have a more festive decor for the holidays but that didn't affect my review; just a statement to say that the entire Sugar Hill area was pumping and themed with the holiday spirit then we walked in the only area decorated was not even accessible nor was it offered as an option to enjoy.

Because of that atmosphere, I was honestly a little disappointed there was no complimentary bread like you get at a lot of higher end places. It is a small thing, but it felt noticeable given the vibe they are going for. We started with the loaded fries appetizer for $14.99. Flavor wise, it was good. The brisket and aioli worked well together, and the sliced jalapeños added heat without overpowering the dish. Unfortunately, the fries themselves did not live up to the rest of the flavors. The choice of fry just did not work for me, and it ended up holding the whole dish back. With a better fry, this could have been really solid. The seating was another downside. The chairs were uncomfortable, with curved edges that pressed into my kidneys the entire time. It reminded me of sitting in a high school classroom desk rather than relaxing at a restaurant. Service wise I didn't really know who my server was, maybe they switch? I ordered the mac and cheese and felt pretty neutral about it. I was not digging it, but I was not hating it either. It tasted more like Alfredo than traditional mac and cheese, which was not what I was expecting. The shrimp, however, were good and easily the best part of the dish. Overall, I still had a good experience. The atmosphere is nice, and while a few things missed the mark, it was not enough to turn me off completely. The restrooms are located on the side and not near the Hucks sign, which is good to know. I would return.

It was a good cut of meat, but it was poorly cooked and had no flavor at all. That's the part that's hard to overlook, this is a steakhouse-style item, and it's also one of the most expensive things on the menu. Simple salt, pepper, and garlic work wonders, and somehow none of that showed up here. When I spend top dollar on a steak, I expect that to be the best thing you do, the flavor that brings people back. On this visit, it was the opposite. Now, credit where it's due: the strawberry Huckito was very good, and I absolutely recommend it. Also, the service was great, friendly, attentive, and professional. But when the most expensive item on the menu comes out poorly cooked and bland, it makes you start looking elsewhere to spend your money. I'd consider coming back for drinks and give it another try, but the kitchen has to tighten up steak execution if they want repeat business.

Farm-to-table dining is the central core at Austin's and the menu boasts a focus on rotating seasonal dishes and bar snacks. The beverage menu lists skillfully crafted cocktails using botanicals from local farms, including ones on the property, to create unique cocktails with herbal and floral flavors...no premade mixes or lower quality liquors here. On my latest visit we arrived just in time for Saturday night jazz (9pm-11pm $10 cover charge per guest). Unfortunately there was a mixup with the jazz artist scheduled to perform that night, through no fault of the restaurant, and the entertainment started about an hour late. However once the show started and the lighting dimmed, it added a different vibe to the entire restaurant that both the diners and employees thoroughly enjoyed. The jazz artist was absolutely amazing! My husband and I were seated at the bar but had a perfect view since the establishment is fairly small. We dined on the Little Gem Caesar which consisted of grilled lettuce, burnt garlic, anchovies, and lemon ($15). The Crispy Rice Salad which is locally sourced Serenbe Farms greens, cucumber, pickled carrot and daikon, peanuts, edamame, fried shallots ($19), The Short Rib dinner with fermented honey, crispy potatoes, crushed herbs, Jus, chilis, garlic, pickled shallots ($39). For our cocktails, we enjoyed the Austin's mule, the Tropic of Cancer, and the Front Porch Swing. All were delicious! The food was also enjoyable. The only downside was the portion sizes of some of the dishes. The Little Gem Ceaser for example consisted of only 2 romaine lettuce leaves and a wedge of lemon. It definitely left you yearning for more. There was also a halibut dish that we've had on a past visit that was the size of my palm with no sides or salad to accompany it. Other than that, Austin's is a must. From the ambiance, to the thoughtful presentation and flavor of the food and drinks, as well as the exceptional service. It's a definite go-to when wanting that night life feel away from the city.

I sat at the bar and had a little light banter with the bartender who is a brother looking to be in his late 30's-early 40's. When I asked about two fruity cocktails from the menu, he flat-out said he wasn't going to make them. That alone was off-putting. Trying to move forward, I asked what he specialized in, and he said he'd "come up with something." I agreed--but very clearly stated: no rum, because my body does not react well to it. After watching him make drinks for people who ordered after me, he eventually handed me a cocktail I never even saw him prepare. That already raised a flag. I took a few sips, and sure enough--my stomach immediately started reacting the exact way it does when I've had rum. When I asked what alcohol he used, he said, "I don't even know." That response alone tells you everything you need to know. At that point, I reminded him I specifically said no rum. Instead of taking accountability, he tried to argue and backtrack. Let me be clear--when a customer tells you not to use a specific liquor, you don't ignore it, guess, or "forget." That's basic service and basic respect. This situation completely threw off my evening, as I had plans afterward and ended up feeling sick. To make matters worse, I reached out to management and received no response. That lack of accountability speaks volumes. At the end of the day, this wasn't just a bad drink--it was careless service. This staff does not prioritize customer care, and that's a problem. If you choose to visit, be very direct, pay close attention, and don't assume your requests will be respected.
