I've lived in the Carrollton area for 35 of my 50 years on earth and had never tried nor experienced the rave of Big Chic until this evening. I have passed by at times and seen a line that appeared to be approx 100 people waiting to order. In my opinion, it's OK, but nothing more. I would rank it maybe 3rd or most likely 4th on the list of chicken available in the area and behind Popeyes, KFC and Lee's. The breast were small, the oil had a burnt taste to it, the slaw came in a very small condiment container designed for ketchup and just wasn't worth standing in line in 90* heat for 25 mins. I have driven past this place for a very long time thinking "it's probably gas station style chicken." Although I kept seeing lines down the sidewalk at this restaurant.I never stopped Well that changed today the wait was a little longer than I would like but I ordered the "4 pc tender meal." With that being said the tenders were so big I couldn't finish it all! 3.5*, but I'll explain the decision to knock down. First, this is one of my mother's favorites, that's why we went. It's been around awhile, and it's popular, so I won't take too long on this post. The chicken is hot, the livers are delicious, the menu is enough to satisfy a variety of interests. People come, line up, order, wait, and leave. You don't eat there, be prepared. So why the knock down? 1. Fries are weak. For a place with good fry on the chicken, no reason for weak fries. 2. It's in Georgia, but the pecan pie is Sara Lee. That's a big no-no in my book. If you make your chicken fresh, make your pie fresh. If you haven't gone, go once and try it for yourself. If you want an alternative to Chick-fil-A, go. If you want to support local business, go. I was in town last week visiting my folks so I ran out to get them some chicken and gizzards. They like this place. They fried the gizzards fresh so it took a few minutes. Best chicken in the U.S. However, I love the chicken. I've been eating it since the 1970s. I went a couple of days ago and ordered 6 pieces (2 wings, 1 leg, 1 breast. and 2 thighs). The price was over 13 dollars for just the chicken - no fries- no roll. This is entirely too high. You can get two whole fried chickens at Ingles (16 pieces) for $12.99. I'm sure this comment won't bother them as they are always crowded. I wish you could make it more affordable. Oh well, I enjoyed it while I could. read more

First of all, their chicken is amazing. Their mashed potatoes are amazing, their fried okra is amazing. This is southern cooking at its finest. I love coming here. We do not go to Villa Rica Big Chic because it is horrible but liked Carrollton one, we went May 16 and I got 6 pk chic only $12--I got 1 leg, 3 wings and 2 thighs only I see when I got home for that $12. It was soggy, 1 wing looked like it came off of quail, tiny, NO MEAT AT ALL. Chicken was bad quality. We will never go back again. Never read more
