Excellent pickup experience! The staff was friendly, and our order of pork chops and greens was ready right on time. The pork chops were tender, perfectly seasoned, and large enough to share a plate. The restaurant has a spacious layout with a large covered patio and plenty of indoor seating. We'll definitely return, but we'll plan ahead for our next visit. ---4 stars??? -- Huck's is great, but unfortunately the parking is limited. The plaza designers severely under-planned the parking lot. Because nearby vendors share the spaces, each business only ends up with a handful of spots. The plaza parking is consistently packed during the day, and I often have to drive back & forth in the lot waiting for someone to leave. We considered hosting a luncheon here for 30+ senior citizens. Hucks on Maple has a great aesthetic right off the bat. The space feels upscale and polished, very much like a fancy restaurant, which immediately sets your expectations high. Because of that atmosphere, I was honestly a little disappointed there was no complimentary bread like you get at a lot of higher end places. It is a small thing, but it felt noticeable given the vibe they are going for. We started with the loaded fries appetizer for $14.99. Flavor wise, it was good. The brisket and aioli worked well together, and the sliced jalapeños added heat without overpowering the dish. Unfortunately, the fries themselves did not live up to the rest of the flavors. The choice of fry just did not work for me, and it ended up holding the whole dish back. With a better fry, this could have been really solid. The seating was another downside. The chairs were uncomfortable, with curved edges that pressed into my kidneys the entire time. It reminded me of sitting in a high school classroom desk rather than relaxing at a restaurant. Service wise I didn't really know who my server was, maybe they switch? I ordered the mac and cheese and felt pretty neutral about it. I was not digging it, but I was not hating it either. It tasted more like Alfredo than traditional mac and cheese, which was not what I was expecting. The shrimp, however, were good and easily the best part of the dish. Overall, I still had a good experience. The atmosphere is nice, and while a few things missed the mark, it was not enough to turn me off completely. I tried Huck's in Carrollton and I'm landing at 3 stars because some parts were genuinely good, but the main reason I came (and paid) didn't deliver. I ordered the NY strip. It was a good cut of meat, but it was poorly cooked and had no flavor at all. That's the part that's hard to overlook, this is a steakhouse-style item, and it's also one of the most expensive things on the menu. Simple salt, pepper, and garlic work wonders, and somehow none of that showed up here. When I spend top dollar on a steak, I expect that to be the best thing you do, the flavor that brings people back. On this visit, it was the opposite. Now, credit where it's due: the strawberry Huckito was very good, and I absolutely recommend it. Also, the service was great, friendly, attentive, and professional. But when the most expensive item on the menu comes out poorly cooked and bland, it makes you start looking elsewhere to spend your money. I'd consider coming back for drinks and give it another try, but the kitchen has to tighten up steak execution if they want repeat business. read more

Nice little place but it could be better. The burgers have the taste and consistency of frozen patties. The wings are small. The sourdough is not authentic. The pasta is basically Ragu. I gave them three visits and I doubt they get a fourth. On a positive note, the whipped brie is good. read more

2:30 in the afternoon + Not busy + Clean + Nice atmosphere + Friendly staff + Food came quickly I ordered onion rings which were up immediately. When I started to eat them, I knew why. They'd been sitting for a significant amount time under a heat lamp. Some were extremely dark because of the heat. All were hot, but dry. The onions were completely cooked down to where they were hardly visible when I bit into the rings. I didn't finish them. All there was to them was breading. Definitely not a $9.95 value. They didn't even look good. The kitchen never should have sent them out, and a good server would have noticed that they were not really serveable. I got the Sunset Philly. The "hoagie" bun was barely larger than a hot dog bun. The beef was an ok flavor, but I got the impression that, once again, it wasn't freshly made. The cheese was so cooked down into the meat so that I couldn't see it. A couple of times there were some wispy strings of cheese when I took a bite and pulled it away from my mouth. The onions and peppers were mush. Except for the color they added, they added no other texture. They should have had some crunch. Again the meat mixture couldn't have been fresh. It tasted and looked like it was pre-made and sitting in a warmer. The menu said that the hoagie bun was toasted. My bun hadn't seen a toaster. That much was clear. The texture was like gum. The sandwich was gummy/chewy, not particularly flavorful, surprisingly small. The fries were like the onion rings. Hot, crisp, and completely dried out. This was definitely not a $13.00 value. I had water with my meal and with the tax and $5.00 tip my bill came to $29.56. I am definitely not satisfied that I received sit-down-restaurant quality food for that price. I've had better food at Burger King. I'm not sure if I want to come back. It'll be a while before I do. I'll watch the reviews and see if they improve. At this point I recommend you think twice before stopping in. read more

We've tried this place two or three times we live right down the road. Service is good everyone's really friendly. The food can be hit or miss. Today we ordered the kebabs. The beef was so tough we couldn't eat it. The chicken was pretty good. And the wait was about forty five minutes after we sat down. This is a relatively new place, and they need to know that if they're gonna establish themselves in carrollton, they need to serve better meat. Huck's is a perfect neighborhood joint. It's upscale enough to feel like a dressy night out, but laid back enough that you can go in jeans and a tshirt. Service, food, drinks all excel. Arrived on a Wednesday night at 7pm the place was packed. Gave our name for wait list, their way of contacting you about table is "we'll come find you". Got a table pretty quickly and ordered drinks, wine glass was wet and had lipstick on it, sent that back, ordered appetizers which came out pretty quickly however had to wait 1 hour for our main course, and the food slowly came out for our table, we were not all served at one time. read more

Our server was wonderful!. 1 appetizer which was ok. 2 entrees. My husband's steak was fine, mashed potatoes not. I had the kabobs no seasoning, very dry, again the potatoes were dry and mealy. First of all the food was great. I've frequented many restaurants in Carrollton, but has never experienced such horrible treatment as I did on Dec. 12, 2025 at The Huck's on Maple. When we first entered they stared at us like we were aliens from another planet. We wasn't aware that one member of our party was already seated at a booth in the corner. When I saw her I told the host our friend was already seated at the booth. When I walked toward her the lady quickly stopped me and told me I couldn't go that way in a harsh tone. How do you get to point B from point A without walking by tables?? So I politely turned around and went back another way. Still can't figure out why she didn't want me to go the way I was going unless I would have been too close to her white patrons. When I got to the booth my friend said the hostess had seated her at a table that was facing the sun therefore she asked for the booth and the hostess told her it wasn't available, but one of the waitress spoke and said that it was so she allowed her to move. I ask my friend had they eaten there before and she said only carry out and she experienced a strange vibe even then. She also stated she had sent her husband there for a pick up and when he returned home he asked if they had eaten inside before and they said no. He wanted to know because of the feeling he got from picking up the carry out. Most of the waitresses stayed far away in a huddle as if they were talking about us. It was so uncomfortable. The waitress we had though was very nice and didn't treat us like aliens. To make this long story short as a Black person I would never eat or do carry out there. That experience was so intense there may as well be "White Only" sign placed on the door. We were not even acknowledged when we left literally nothing like when you normally leave a restaurant. We were nicely dressed intelligent Black women .... What was the problem? read more
