The pub is a small town gem. It is a family friendly restaurant until about 10pm and then it is a rockin' college dance hall until close. The food is great bar food and the cheap beer is $1 for a draft. The wait staff changes as people graduate and leave, but right now you've got to find Bethanne, Ian, or Brock. There are always other great staff coming in and the experience has always been great. I always leave before the club environment cranks up around 10 but do whatever is for you. I ordered a blackened chicken salad and was pretty disappointed. The salad used lettuce which has no nutritional value. There was American cheese all over it which reduced the healthiness of the salad option. I scraped it off the chicken but the cheese chunks in the lettuce was harder to remove. Other than tomatoes there was no other vegetables like cucumbers, onions, Etc. so again lacking any nutrition. The blackened chicken was the least flavorful of any restaurant I've ever ordered from. It tasted okay but was closer to seasoned chicken than blackened. The wait staff seemed friendly. Only down side was when the other waiter delivered our food he did nothing for silverware and we were left waiting for our waitress to notice. It was about five minutes before she came by and saw we had food and no silverware. The live music was on the deck above us and seemed decent. A dog was sitting at the table behind us and I thought that was awesome. I wonder if they allowed it because it was a small breed or if all breeds are welcome to the patio? If I could bring my 55 pound boy with me I would willing to try it again. If not I probably won't go back. Just didn't seem worth the money. Come on guys... I've very rarely had issues with the Irish Pub. Typically is a great spot for dinner. I understand that tonight was busy due to a concert happening at the Amphitheater, but to serve a reduced menu consisting of apps and sandwiches and those dishes to still take over an hour to come out is a bit disappointing. Once the sandwiches finally did come out well over an hour later, they were honestly the worst sandwiches I've ever tasted. It was as though they'd been scooped up leftovers from under the grill. Horrendous and very disappointing. Crowd or not, the quality of your food should never be given as little regard as those sandwiches were given. read more

Always disappointed here. Most recently, my party received burnt tortilla chips. With the rest of our food being also mostly overcooked, we asked for more chips mentioning them being over cooked, and they brought us a "fresh batch' of even more burnt chips. I'm losing hope in this town read more

My husband and I are regulars at the Pub. We always get great service. The menu has a large selection. The burgers, bowls, and wings are our personal favorites. The bartender, Johnny, gives phenomenal service and is friendly and courteous. Scotty is a great server. I will not be back nor will any of my colleagues :) I've been to the Pub before and I've had no problem.... The bartender is really friendly and most of the wait-staff seem to be. However whomever works security needs to be replaced.... On the evening of the 4th of July I went to the Irish pub to meet a friend of mine ... I don't even drink... but unfortunately security had stopped me because my jeans had rips below the knees and I wasn't allowed in... I was shocked because I've worn the same jeans there on a previous occasion on the 2nd and was allowed in... That's only two days before the 4th, so I was very confused. I was told that I can come back and go in if I either wore shorts [with the security person taking a literal pause] and then said jeans are okay too if they didn't have rips in them (even though once again they were below the knees)... I'm glad he gave me a choice in attire. I saw that this "dress code" was being selectively enforced... There was a a woman there who had on daisy-dukes with rips in them that barely covered anything especially when she sat down and there were guys who had rips in there shorts as well, but my jeans were unacceptable because they had rips below the knees... and that is the only place they had rips in them. I left the area and called the bar and asked if this was actually a policy, I was told that indeed it was, but it's only enforced for really only for the guys... I found that interesting too and I wondered why that policy and only on the 4th... Before people start yelling about discrimination I don't know if I was discriminated against because I'm mixed race but people think I'm anything from to Hispanic, to Italian, to Indian when I tan, I've never had this happened before. I fully support women and really anyone being able to wear what they want to, but if you have a dress code enforce every patron would expect for it to be for everyone across the board and a pass not given to people who you think are cool or that you vibe with, or that you think are cute. ...Lol it's not a night club it's a bar... I don't recommend anyone go here other than to support the super nice male bartender with long dark hair and a blue cross necklace that was working that evening or to support the young woman who was working very hard also that evening. I only visit The Pub on the weekends and I have yet to be disappointed. The bartender made the best amaretto sours I have had in a while. Watch your receipts when closing tabs or pay only in cash! I was double charged for my drinks and since it was a Friday night they couldn't refund my card (what?) and I would have to wait for the general manager to call me to refund the money. Bartender didn't really apologize for the mistake nor was the manager on duty apologetic. I can forgive a lot of things, bad food, sticky tables etc, but potentially scamming customers is something that I can't tolerate. Maybe we are some of the fortunate ones? We have always been waited on promptly and been treated well by the staff so no issues there. I must admit we only have been here for lunch. Seems that, being a pub in a college town it could get "meh" for my tastes at night. I will make one comment that could be misconstrued for an old man comment - it seems to be run by the college staff. It isn't bad, but just not as clean, or professionally managed, and doesn't have that "something" that your get from a place where the staff is driven by pride. But again, that is not a unique problem in Carrollton dining. Food is good. Some of it is just not my favorite but anything with the Guinness BBQ sauce is a must try. Corned beef and cabbage is good pub fare as is the shepherds pie. Sweet potato fries are my favorite side, but wish they had a savory sauce to dip instead of just honey. We have friends from Chicago that come into town and ask to go here. They always comment on the solid food and lovely old building. read more

Best late night atmosphere in town. Good to both the college student and the local. Best beer selection in town with the game always on. This business gives a lot to the local community, frequently hosting events on the historic square, live music regularly, and DJ performances often. If you're looking for an authentic Irish pub, this is not it. My girlfriend and I, against our better judgment, decided to have a late lunch here. We walked inside. No host/hostess in sight, with a sign telling us to wait to be seated. After a couple awkward minutes of standing about by the doorway we gave up and sat at the bar. Finally a bartender appeared. I ordered a Guinness and their fish and chips. The bartender, God bless her, tried her best to do a proper pour of Guinness, but failed. It came in a plain straight sided pint glass with almost no head to speak of. Yes, I'm a Guinness snob. This is supposed to be an Irish pub. Everyone behind the bar should be able to pour a decent pint. No excuses. One good thing I'll mention is their spirits selection was solid. Plenty of Irish whiskies, and some lesser known white whiskies from small distillers. Then came my fish and chips. This was a HUGE piece of fish. It looked great. It came with seasoned fries, a big bowl of coleslaw, and mysteriously accompanied by garlic toast. Unfortunately it was not as good as it looked. The battered outside of the fish was rock solid. I attempted to eat the fish with my hands, but once broken, the batter just came off the fish. I had to resort to a knife and fork. The coleslaw was delicious, but arguably unnecessary for a simple order of fish and chips. I didn't eat the garlic toast, because why is it even there? The flavor overall was not bad, the presentation was just weird for what should be a simple dish. If the coleslaw is the best part of your fish and chips, you're doing something wrong. At $9.95 this was not at all worth it. Simplify it, maybe reduce portion size, and cut the price. I gave 2 stars only because the staff were at least somewhat nice, and nothing tasted bad. I've avoided this place for years due to a bad experience I had with an incredibly rude server here. The staff have improved somewhat, but this is still not the traditional Irish pub that I crave. And learn to pour Guinness! read more

We have been dining here for many years. Has always been our first choice for going out. In recent months things have been going down at a very steady pace. You have to search for someone to seat you and take your order. Then you're in for a long wait on the food. The food has become inconsistent at best. Me and my wife ate a late dinner on Wednesday, April 13, 2017. We go to the Irish Pub about 2 or 3 Time a month. We always order a Hamburger Steak with a salad and we each get different sides along with our meal. The reason I am giving them a 2 stars today is for 3 reason: 1.) The straws are too soft for the glass that you get your soft drink in. I don't know if that a joke or they think that a good idea. 2.) The coleslaw that my wife was not make like coleslaw should be make, she also stated that it also was not very good. 3.) The waiter was very nice, but was slow about coming around to the table, it did have about 6 or 8 more couple in the restaurant, unless he was the only one on the floor. Stopped in Saturday to grab lunch for my husband. Ordered and had a seat at the bar. I wasn't sure about what sides to order along with my corned beef sandwich. Two different employees made the suggestion of kettle fries and fried okra. I ordered both. My husband loved the sandwich. While waiting for my food the Atmosphere was nice as were the employees. My wait wasn't too long. I had eaten at their sister store in Douglasville and it was really good. I will probably stop in another time in the future to try some different dishes. read more

So disappointed! We came here prior (a year ago) knowing we had an awesome experience and food was great. Us and our friends stopped in last night (8/5/22) We sat upstairs because there were 6 of us. Our server was friendly and pleasant, however the food service was HORRIBLE. Drinks were mainly juice, our food took about an hour and a half - then when it did come out, it was over cooked, wrong and missing items, and things that should of been hot were cold. Not to mention, our food came out one persons order at a time. Although our server told us the kitchen was backed up, this was ridiculous. When we left, we found out that there was a concert going on at the 'back street' and this particular restaurant had an open window on the back side that was catering to the people at the concert. As a local, I've been to the Irish Bred Pub so many times and I have to say, it's probably my single favorite place to sit down and get a meal on the weekend. The staff are incredibly laid back and friendly, the bevs are pretty top notch, and some of the food is absolutely out of this world. The fries are one of my favorites in the world and the Irish Potato Skins are a great appetizer!! But every other time I visit, I make sure to get the Jalapeño Popper Burger. I am absolutely crazy for this hamburger to the point where it seems that I have a quota ro go to the pub and order it once a week. From the fresh soft buns, to the perfectly crispy bacon, to the wonderfully seared and high quality patty, and finishing with that jalapeño medley on top - it's a perfect burger. I move to a new dimension when I take a single bite of this culinary masterpiece. In short, do not order the Jalapeño popper burger because I will get less of them. Great restaurant! read more

We were visiting from out of town and my dad had been dying to try this place. We were in the area so decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. My aunt tried to make a joke and asked for a little leprechaun, as she found out that is an actual drink that they brought out. it was quite tasty and refreshing. The food was good and really large portions. The service was excellent. We will go again as my dad keeps talking about us going there again. We've been here several times and always had a good experience, but that was months ago. This recent visit was not good. We waited four minutes for someone to even acknowledge we had walked in and come to seat us. We waited over ten minutes between the time we got our drinks to when they took our order. My husband didn't get his salad until they brought our food out. We were sitting in one of the entrance booths, and could see what appeared to be their internet router sitting above their hostess booth, and you could see the dust caked up on it. It did nothing for our appetite. By the time our food finally made it to our table, we only had ten minutes left to eat before we had to leave. No, they were not that busy.....there were several empty tables and booths. We were truly disappointed this time, and won't be returning anytime soon. read more

Met my parents here for dinner for Mother's Day. Loved the decor and the music, thought it would be louder in there but was pleasantly surprised that we could have idle conversation across the table without yelling at each other. Our waiter Blake started us off with our beverages (good tea) and took our orders, then we only waited about 15 minutes and our food arrived pipping hot. My parents had the corned beef and cabbage, my husband had the Philly cheesesteak, and I had the Shepard's pie. The Shepard's pie was delicious, a huge bowl filled with the meat, veggies, gravy and topped with mashed potatoes and cheese. The corned beef and cabbage came with cut red potatoes and bread, it was moist, tender and oh so tasty. The Philly cheesesteak was piled with meat and cheese partnered with a mound of French fries. Blake was a great waiter, he took time to talk with us, so if you visit ask for him you won't be disappointed! My overall experience at Irish Bred Pub is excellent food at great prices, great atmosphere and fantastic wait staff! The more I travel, the more I realize how fortunate the square is to have a top tier Irish Pub. I was sitting in Rumour's near Times Square when I realized I had just paid three times as much to be treated half as well for something I could've have done better myself. The square's Irish pub is one of the best I've been to and yet I've not given the place its due in the ten years I've been eating there. The service, whether I'm at the counter or at a table, is always snappy and efficient. I'm a huge fan of the shepherd's pie and fish n' chips, and I make sure to stop by at least once a month for one of the two. Even without Kirby behind the bar (one of the greatest bartenders I've had the pleasure of chatting with), his replacements have been more than adequate no matter what time of the day I stop in. read more

I was able to get in before 11, then a few friends came in at 11:05 and they weren't allowed in cuz they weren't college kids with the college ID. So this is a really cute small pub. They have alot of menu items that liken to the Irish theme, such as Corned beef and Cabbage, Beef Stew and Fish and Chips. But they also have a full selection of sandwichs, wraps and burgers. My daughter had the French Dipper and found it to be light on the beef. I suspect the au jus to be canned and was quite salty. I had the Beef Stew which was also salty and too light on the chuncks of veggies. By far the best food at the table was my husbands Fish and Chips. One huge slab of fish that was battered and fried to perfection. Their fries are good and not overly salty. I didn't care for the coleslaw that came with it. Our server was great, a college student named Abby. If I were just rating the food I would probably go with 3 stars, but the location, ambience and service bumped up the score.
