Beef nachos - tasty but a tad overpriced
    Jeff L.

While driving thru the area we stopped by Beef 'O' Brady's - completely forgetting it was St. Patrick's Day! Somehow we still were able to get a table. Beef nachos as an appetizer- they were really good but for the price I expected one of those giant 'you can't eat all this' sized nachos. It was fine but not memorable. Wife had a chicken bowl which she liked but I'm still confused if it was more salad or pot pie. Son had boneless wings and they were excellent. I had the fish filet and chicken tenders special that was very good as well. Overall an average experience - probably 3.5 stars instead of 3 but nothing to write home about.

Average (2.5), but that's not an option here, and I didn't want to give it above average Visiting Mobile, AL I saw lots of commercials enticing me to try the angus beef burger for $7.99 on Mondays! So I invited my nephew to meet me there for dinner. Only to arrive at 5p, and seeing a sign that they closed at 4p. Alas Later in the week moved on to Montgomery AL and saw adverts again, and decided to give it a second try on a Friday late afternoon. They were open and semi busy. Quite chilly inside we asked for outdoor seating , but learned that's where the smokers gather...so indoors it was! The young lady host advised they would be getting busy soon and it would warm up. She was absolutely correct! By the time we left it was cozy and people were looking for seating. The pasta (mac n cheese) comfort bowl looked appetizing but I don't eat pork and wanted a burger patty instead of pulled pork. No substitution allowed, my request had to get cleared by a manager. It was ok'd and seemingly I was charged for a hamburger with a side of mac..$12 burger $3side, vs the $10 pork and m&c. No problem, that's what I wanted. That's what I got/paid for. But for future reference I'll order as such and get the entire "burger w toppings and bread a side of fries, with mac on the side" rather than just a patty sitting atop the mac n cheese. And the serving size of this "comfort bowl", was closer to a kids menu sized meal. Slightly bigger, but def not enough for an average adult appetite In hindsight, I look at the menu, and the server never mentioned there was a hamburger WITH the mac n cheese as a topping. The burger was just "ok"-disappointed she didn't ask how I wanted it, so it came out well done and sorta almost overcooked. And though it stated it was "well seasoned", it was lacking, and the cavatappi pasta was undercooked. I did like the breadcrumb topping Our waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed as the place got crowded and it took awhile for us to get our checks My friend got the wings an was content, but odd you can't get a larger than 8 wings "combo basket". I ordered 10 Cajun flavored (I like dry rub) to go. They threw the celery sticks atop the wings so they were hot and wilted when we got home (most places wrap them in aluminum to thwart the heat) Admittedly the wings were a decent size (not sure if I'd call them JUMBO, but def a nice size.) I nibbled 4 when I got home, and had the remainder for breakfast The ranch dressing that accompanied them was really good and I also got a side of their hot sauce (spicey and thick!) Would I return..prob so, if I have a hankering for an angus burger. But I'd asked for it med well and though fries came w her basket..they were "shoe string like"...so ok. But I might ask for a diff side

Great food options. Definitely need to change out the oil for the fried foods. But tasty nonetheless. The one thing that throws me off, none of the waitresses are wearing any clothing that identified them as staff of Beef O Brady's. It doesn't make sense to wear casual clothes when you are at your work. The make your own burger is a great value! Even with the additions. Looking forward to alcohol coming soon!

I come here often great beer and bar. The food is good. Staff is on the ball and great place to unwind after a long day. I would recommend this place. I prefer the burger but stuff and turf is also good. Can't beat the prices.

Service was amazing. Food was well cooked and seasoned. Chicken tacos and Philly cheesesteaks are recommended.

It's ok for lunch. Can be hit or miss. But even a miss isn't awful. Never had any issues with service. It's always been good

Slow service and small portions. Ordered the seafood dinner. When it came, I thought I had made a mistake and ordered a child's plate.

This place definitely deserves its 5 stars…read more Our server Lyle was very polite and took her time to find out the specials and review the menu with us. When we asked about drinks she brought over the bartender Josh, who was just as awesome! He made us a few bartender special beverages and you could taste the passion this man has for the job! Bravo to the staff, if we lived locally this would be a spot we would frequently regular at! The inside of the restaurant felt very grounded and well put together, and the patio looked just as cozy! We were recommended the Caesar salad from a server we ran into outside the restaurant which is what brought us into the restaurant. They make an in house dressing which had great flavor notes! The croutons were nice and airy, and the lettuce was perfectly crispy, a great Caesar salad. We ordered the cowboy burger and the steak sandwhich as our entrees with a side of Brussel sprouts and green beans. The burger was fantastic! Great balance of ingredients and a good size burger, very filling. The steak on my sandwich was so tender but it was a bit salty for my taste. My brussel sprouts also felt a little undercooked, but I still believe this restaurant deserves five stars because of the service they provide and the menu they curated

Fried green tomatoes was ordered for the appetizer... (which i couldn't get to try, allergies')... everyone seemed to have enjoyed them... Man, do I want to give this place a higher rating, but there were a few things that just cannot…read morejustify a higher rating. Let's get into it. We arrived here on a Sunday, not by choice, but because of lack of options in this area on a Sunday. We wanted a sit down meal and not just a grab and go type of situation. Not many choices are available in the area on a Sunday. When we walked in we were greeted warmly and guided to our table. Once we sat down we were looking over the menu and our server approached. We placed our drink order and were kind of given a 'heads up' about how service might be that day. Which isn't always that great of thing to hear when you basically exhausted all other possibilities in the area. When our drinks arrived, almost ten minutes later, we finally started to place our orders. I went with an appetizer and entree. Let me tell you something, I'm ok with fusion food, but Cajun and Irish was not one I was expecting to stumble upon. I like taking in new experiences so I will give anything a chance at least once. When you look over the menu, you can see how they fused the cuisines and some sound interesting, while others give you the apprehension that you should follow and not order. During the ordering process, my picks were readily available, but my friends weren't so lucky when they made selections. One friend just kept going down the list until one was available. However, one of my other friends ordered something only for the server to return and tell her that that option was not available at that time because they didn't have the items to make it. Then the food started to come out, very intermittently. Remember how I told you I ordered an appetizer and entree? Well, my entree arrived well before my appetizer. Since my entree came first I went with Cod Fish & Chips. This comes with fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies. The highlight of this place were the hushpuppies. They were amazing, flavorful and of a decent size. The fries were dead cold. The cod was decent, lukewarm at best, and the coating was a bit much. It wasn't a fluffy, crunchy batter, it was like it was densely packed in cornmeal. The coleslaw, yikes. I've had vinegar forward slaw, but this one was a bit overpowering. And remember they are a fusion restaurant, the Cajun portion of this was the punch in the face that when paired with that vinegar forward slaw, is not a good mix. The appetizer, Boxty, was definitely the highlight of the whole meal for me. This right here was redeemable and maybe that is why it showed up after my entree. It made me forget about the entree. Two perfectly, huge, traditional potato pancakes. It is served with a Cajun remoulade. If I would have tried this first, I would have seen how the fusion worked. Because this truly worked. The remoulade mixed well with the potato pancake. That plate, was absolutely empty when my plates were picked up. What overshadowed all this was the service. Honestly, it really wasn't their fault, or at least totally their fault. It was the employees. Some kitchen staff, we were told, did not show up. Couple that with no prep work being done the night before or earlier in that day made for slow food preparation. On top of the kitchen staff not showing up, some servers did not show up as well. Our server, who was amazing and charming, was stretched thin. She was humble and took everything in stride. She even thought, in her mind, that most of this was her fault. Honey, you did nothing wrong, you are doing your job and showed up. Your suggestions to us were spot on, and you need to remember you didn't prepare the food. This place is redeemable, but only after they get the staffing straight and hire the right people. If I am ever back in the area, I will give it another try. Especially since the place is beautiful and kind of reminiscent of New Orleans. That two-floored restaurant with outdoor seating on both levels and the outdoor fans really give off the Big Easy.

After scouring Google for new restaurants to try out, I came across The Cajun Leprechaun located in…read moredowntown Montgomery. The eatery sits on the corner and is hard to miss. After arriving, my mom and I were greeted and seated promptly. It's a very intimate setting that would highly remind you of an authentic New Orleans style restaurant right in Alabama. Very nice. Upon ordering, we decided to try the shrimp po boys with a side of fries. I wanted a dessert so I decided to also try the beignets and a lemonade for our drinks. The sandwiches themselves were very delicious and super filling. So much so that I could only eat one half and take the other half with me. The beignets I feel could have been better. I ordered once but the waitress saw my face and immediately brought another order out without me asking, which I appreciated. The new order was a bit better, but I think they could use some improvement. Overall, I would recommend this place to try for a nice Cajun vibe.
