Aye what can I say other than it was a delicious experience. I really enjoyed my cowboy burger and they have a good selection of Pinot Noir to select from. What a good spot. The servers were friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine they had on hand. I noticed how busy this place stayed with patrons constantly rolling in. My sister gave the blackberry tres leches a try and just one bite of it had us ordering a second one. I'll be back for sure to give the lamb and steak tacos a try.

Upscale yet casual, comfortable, and welcoming. The staff were phenomenal and seemed to truly be glad to help customers with menu suggestions. I had the steak tacos with a side of sweet potato fries and both were fresh, hot, and delicious. I ordered a white chocolate bread pudding to go and it was sinful. Yum! I will definitely visit again the next time I'm in Montgomery.

Wow!!! What a great find!! It's a family-owned smaller restaurant with great atmosphere, incredible food, and warm and friendly staff!! The steak tacos were wonderful and their shrimp and grits are award-winners for good reason! Their crème-brûlée is a family recipe and I was really glad I had saved space for dessert!!

My experience was great! Sat at the bar solo, tender was attentive, food came out fresh, and happy hour prices were VERY reasonable!

Located in Zelda Place, Cork & Cleaver is an excellent choice for brunch. While they do have indoor seating, the outdoor patio is a comfortable little area to enjoy a meal when the Alabama heat isn't overwhelming. Our server was a nice young man who brought us our drinks promptly, gave us some time to go over the menu, and then came back to take our order. I thought it odd though when he asked my wife, who ordered Eggs Benedict, how well done she wanted her eggs. It's a poached egg. It's supposed to be runny. Anyway, my mother ordered the French Toast, and I ordered the Shrimp & Grits. I love that they put Conecuh Sausage in the Shrimp & Grits (keeping it Alabama style). They used Gouda cheese to mix with the grits and it wasn't overwhelming. Very tasty dish. My wife and mother both enjoyed their meals. Definitely recommend.

What a pleasant find! We were in Montgomery to go to the Whitewater paddling park and we somehow got the name of this place. It is about 4 miles from the park. It is a small place and a tad bit run down but the food was excellent. We got there in time to order off the lunch menu. I'm glad we did because the portion sizes for the table next to us were huge! I had the melon salad with a side of blackened shrimp. The shrimp were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I've never had a salad like that and I never thought that watermelon, mustard, pecans, and bacon would work together but it did! My husband had the steak tacos and the meat was tender and tasty. If we ever find ourselves in Montgomery again, I'd like to go back for dinner.

Josh the "intoxicologist" was the absolute best. Never have I had a restaurant experience like this. The mocktails... insane. The butterfinger shot... don't even get me started!!!!!!!! The food was fantastic as well but we all know who the real star of the show is. Thanks Josh for making what was planned as a chill dinner into an unforgettable experience. I will tell anyone who is willing to listen about this dining extravaganza. #joshrocks #androlls

Cork and Cleaver is featuring Christmas cocktails crafted by their bartenders. They are all good! Also enjoyed a cheese board. My dinner was chicken bruschetta. Great place to enjoy with friends!

Great service. Excellent meal. Cute as can be spot. We left Cork and Cleaver and pleasantly stuffed. We were just passing through town. So glad we stopped!

This place was a huge surprise! I ordered the catfish over collard greens and Gouda grits with okra chips. My daughter ordered the chicken bruschetta with potatoes. We shared an order of fried green tomatoes with crawfish cream sauce. This was the best-tasting and the best-presented meal I've had in years! The service (our waitress was Taylor) was outstanding, and the food was served quickly. I cannot praise this place enough!

I took my work team here for a conference dinner, and we had a wonderful time! The food was delicious, generously portioned, and there is a happy hour during which appetizers are half off (call to find exact hours). The shrimp and grits had a spicy cajun cream sauce and generous chunks of conecuh sausage. My colleague got the filet, and she rated it "absolutely delicious!" The cheese plate had delicious cheese varieties (a garlic goat spread, a smoky blue, and some sort of sharp cheese with some casein crystals), but was a tiny bit skimpy on the accoutrements, so we were taking BIG OL bites of cheese with just tiny bits of crackers and honey, etc. I love cheese, so no huge complaints, but it could have been a bit more balanced.

Screwed up the order badly despite confirming it like 15x on the phone in the most frustrating, circuitous conversation ever. Like, how?

I started off with the Moon Over Madagascar, and let me tell you--if this drink had a fan club, I'd be president. The black tea and vanilla combo sounded like a weird dare at first, but it ended up being shockingly amazing. Whoever came up with that mix deserves a bonus and maybe a parade. Now, let's talk about the shrimp and grits, because these were not just "good." These were "call your mama and tell her you've tasted greatness" good. The chef is from South Carolina, and you can taste every bit of Lowcountry pride in that bowl. Perfectly cooked grits? Check. Pile of blackened shrimp? Double check. A sauce that made me rethink my entire life? Oh yeah. If they sold that sauce by the gallon, I'd be bankrupt but extremely happy. Erica, our waitress, was an absolute rockstar. Super helpful, incredibly informative, and somehow managed to keep the perfect balance of friendly and professional--even on the Sunday after the Iron Bowl, when half of Auburn is stress-eating. The place was spotless too, which is impressive considering the emotional damage that game causes every year. Bottom line: The Hound is a must-visit. Come hungry, order boldly, and thank me later.

Was told by my colleagues that the Parker house rolls and cinnamon butter was great. I had the summer salad (spring greens, cherries, strawberries, and a HUGE knot of burrata cheese, with an additional grilled salmon). This salad was incredible. Highly recommend! The table shared some deviled eggs. The pickled onions on the deviled eggs was so good. Everyone dipped their fries in the chili crisp oil and agreed it was one of the best flavor combos of the trip. Our server gave us an extra side of it and gave my friend a side of kimchi to add to his burger. Just great all around service and vibe. While the restaurant feels like the height of 2015-2020 design (let's road trip in our sprinter van to a shipping container cottage!), everything feels airy and good to be there

The hostess was warm and efficient, seating us immediately. Our server approached with the quiet confidence of someone who knows her craft--she was direct, professional, and all business in the best possible way. Even as closing time drew near, she kept my glass refreshed without needing to be asked, a small but telling detail that spoke volumes about her attentiveness. The space itself strikes a pleasant semi-formal note--clean, polished, and respectful without veering into stuffy territory. Behind the bar, the bartender was meticulously wiping down every bottle, a quiet display of care that set a tone of genuine pride in the operation. We began with a dozen oysters: six raw and six char-grilled. The raw specimens were on the petite side for the price, yet delivered a clean, bright, and pleasantly saline flavor that let the oyster speak for itself. The char-grilled version arrived with a savory Parmesan crust that brought its own appealing character--rich, cheesy, and nicely caramelized in a way that felt unique rather than derivative. The crab dip, however, was a standout. Far superior to the often disappointing versions we've encountered elsewhere, this one tasted of genuine lump crab meat, folded into a properly cheesy, indulgent dip that avoided any unfortunate "buffalo" detours. Served with crisp crostini, each bite was balanced and deeply satisfying--an authentic crab dip done right. The Korean cheesesteak offered an excellent harmony of flavors: tender, well-seasoned meat beneath a luxurious blanket of melted cheese, punctuated by the bright, spicy kick of kimchi and the refreshing snap of pickles. It was delicious, though for the price, I wished for a more generous filling and a bit more heft to the sandwich overall. The mac & cheese arrived in a commendably generous portion, with a beautiful Parmesan crust on top. Visually appealing, the dish unfortunately fell a touch flat on the palate. The noodles were properly cooked and coated in a creamy sauce, yet it lacked the depth and seasoning one hopes for-- a pinch more salt and pepper would have elevated it considerably. The fish and chips presented a towering mound of fries that carried decent flavor but lacked the shattering crispness one craves. The real disappointment lay in the presentation of the fish: two fillets stacked atop one another, causing the steaming heat to turn the once-promising breading soggy and prone to sliding off. That said, the fish itself was excellent--flaky, moist, and delicately sweet with a lovely buttery quality. It was the unfortunate interaction between steam and crust that kept the dish from greatness. The roads were a little dense, so not necessarily my particular style, but I'm good. The butter that came with them was very unique to say the least. To drink, both beers arrived filled to the absolute brim and proved so enjoyable that I would gladly order them again without hesitation. Overall, the evening delivered solid, thoughtful plates in a well-run environment, with several bright spots that make a return visit tempting--particularly for those oysters and that excellent crab dip.
