Loving the cleanliness and atmosphere . Had the Philly cheesesteak and it was awesome !! Staff is /was wonderful !!!
I got the chicken fried rice and my friend and I split the lettuce wraps. The food was delicious, but the service left much to be desired. The front of house staff had no clue what was going on but the chef in the back made sure we got our food before it got cold from sitting under the window for so long. Hopefully we'll have a better service experience next time because I thought the food was great.
Great crispy wings and the lemon pepper hot is a must try! Bartenders are on point and the food if fire. A good spot to watch any sports event.
The food was amazing. I had the Lo mein with shrimp, beef and steak. It was seasoned perfectly. The service was great. They were friendly and nice. The ambiance was natural and airy. The fresh air was a plus

I really enjoyed my first visit to The Mayor! Football , great food and service! The burger and fries were spectacular. I also had a really nice ipa! The staff were all very nice and helpful! This is the perfect spot to grab a great meal. The atmosphere is pretty laid back and cozy. I'll be back for more!
Walking in, it's just as nicely decorated as Mr. West's. I haven't been to East West yet but I assume it's the same vibe? Lots of open space and seating with lots of TVs for entertainment and an outdoor seating area. Service is 10/10! The young lady here today was the order taker, bartender and waitress and excelled at all while making sure I didn't need anything else throughout my time here. She was great and so nice! My food and drinks came out very quickly! I ordered a Wednesday special of the $11 Korean beef tacos, $7 Mr. West's margarita and an additional regular priced $10 strawberry lemon drop. Like I said, my waitress excelled at all of her jobs so the drinks were very good and the tacos were tasty! Tacos were very tasty and the wonton chips are good but I couldn't finish them all. Felt like I was eating empty fried calories lol. The menu is different than the other locations and I can't wait to come back and try something else.

The wings were crispy and well seasonsd, the po boy was poppin, and the drink was potent. I co-worked for a while on the patio as well, totally my type of vibe. The next time I came with some friends and tried the burger...such a great decision! The bun was soft, the patty was flavorful, the cheese didn't taste like plastic. I know these sound like basic components but they're really doing the details well here. We also tried some chicken bites and eggrolls as apps but I ended up taking them home since I was so full. The staff's been super friendly each visit and they know the menu well since you can ask questions. Our food didn't take too long to come out either, everything was hot and fresh. This is definitely one of my new Lakeview favs :)
The Mayor is one of my favorite places. You can't go wrong with any of the food or drink options here. When you enter the restaurant you can either sit on the side that gives you a sports bar feel with tons of TV's or the side that's your more traditional restaurant style. I have to add that the customer service is top tier. Everyone is extremely nice. My favorite bartender is Amy T. She's so personable and attentive and I look forward to seeing her when I visit. On to the food! A few of my favorite items are the chicken nachos, the beef noodles, the wings, and so much more. I highly recommend visiting this place. Be sure to get a Mr. West
I haven't been to this bar since it's been the Mayor, so was finally able to check it out. I remembered that the previous business had a lot of TVs and so since football season is finally here, that was my reason for stopping by. When you enter, you can place your order for food and/or drinks and put your card on file for an open tab or can immediately close out and then you seat yourself. The Mayor was very clean and tidy and had plenty of TVs. We ordered lemon pepper wings and the Thai chicken lettuce wraps. The wings were just "ok." They were very different from what I expected. The lemon pepper seasoning is almost like a powdery, white substance. We also noticed that the wings weren't tossed in the sauce they came with. It seems like the sauce was just poured on the wings, so as you can imagine, it was unevenly distributed. The wings also weren't "fresh" tasting. They tasted almost like they were freezer burned. The lettuce wraps were pretty good. This dish was definitely on the "smaller" size of an appetizer, but nonetheless, it was good. We also noticed they have a full bar, so you have a lot of options to choose from. Overall, pretty decent experience. Next time we will try something other than the wings.
This place was suggested by a friend so I tried it. I love the decor and how open it was. They had the doors open, which resembled garage doors, for a nice breeze and the weather was nice. The garage doors were pretty cool along with the Asian decor. They had graphic on the ceiling which were cool as well. I got the Mongolian spicy garlic noodles with chicken. It wasn't really spicy just a tad from the peppers. The food was great, the service was great, our food came quick which is a A+ in my book. I will definitely be back

It was just small for its $8 price tag. Similarly, the old bay shrimp plate was pretty good. Lovely tartar and cocktail sauce. Double-fry on the fries which made them nice and crunchy. The shrimp were well fried. Big issue? There were 6 shrimp (not jumbo) in an $18 plate. That's sort of untenable. Good amount of fries, and the slaw was great, but it was a bit pricey for me. I'm told the plate usually comes with 7 shrimp, but for whatever reason that was not my experience. I will return to try the bahn mi and another app, but first impressions are that it's a nice place that's somewhat overpriced compared to what my expectations were for a lunch out. However, the food is very good and worth your time.
Unfortunately my favorite pad noodles are no longer on the menu. The only reason why I came. Not sure why it was empty and super dark. I guess I'll try something else.

Came for lunch today! Love the garage doors and outdoor seating. Fast-casual, order at the front. The murals and decor are cool, definitely suit nighttime better. They have a nice cocktail menu, and a lot of the seating is lounge style (couches with coffee tables). This would be a fun spot to watch some football. The food was satisfactory. I had the garlic noodles with chicken, $17 for lunch. My dad ordered the banh mi with fries. I'm assuming these prices are the same for dinner, but I really think they should be lower for lunch. I'm even fine with a slightly smaller portion, but Tuesday lunch shouldn't be more than $15 anywhere. I'll definitely be back to try something else! I love the outdoor seating. I'd forgotten about how jam-packed this block of Lakeview is with restaurants and bars. read more

Food was pretty good but a bit too salty! And 21 for this small and okay meal? Vibes were a bit off - went on a Friday (granted right after NYE) - but was kinda dead with only 2 workers - so service was still slow! read more

Definitely my new place for the perfect burger and fries on a Tuesday! "Every Tuesday we offer the Mayor Burger for $10! Two thin crispy all beef patties, American cheese, Mac sauce, shaved onions, pickles, and hand-cut fries!" Not to mention SUPER friendly service from the moment you enter until you leave. Service at the Mayor was incredible! They had the cashier taking the orders and running the food. She was the only person I saw working the front of the house yet she did it all with a great attitude! A friend and I went on a quick lunch break. The food came out fast and it wasn't too packed. Everything was hot and fresh. We decided on the Mayor Burger and the Garlic Parmesan wings. I loved the fries, but the burger wasn't bad and wasn't great. I don't think I need to order it again but I'm not upset I tried it. I'll be back to the Mayor, but trying something different. read more

My first visit to see The Mayor today. I must say, really fine Pad Thai, Lettuce Wraps, and a great cocktail and beer selection. The service is fun and efficient. The restaurant has a sports bar atmosphere with big screen TV's. The front has garage type doors that will open up in the Spring and Fall. This place will really be hoppin' with the cool kids when the summer heat is gone. I might become such a regular that The Mayor may have to put me on the City Council. read more

Great fast-casual Asian cuisine! Our food came very fast and was full of flavor. I got the chicken Pad Thai, which was a perfect serving size and was reasonably priced. The noodles were very saucy and super tasty. I'm hoping to return soon to try more on the menu! read more

We have been twice now to Mr. West's Asian Chow Hall / The Mayor in Lakeview and have loved it! We were pumped to see our favorite restaurant (EastWest) expand to Lakeview and bring some life back to this location. The menu is crafted to reflect some bar-food items while still maintaining the Asian/American flare. We have loved the lettuce wraps and got them both times! The 2nd visit we did experience some slower service than we did the first visit, but totally understand the staff is taking orders at the counter while also running food and pouring drinks. Fully expect to be back and enjoy more awesome food!! Wings - dry rub, very crispy - 7/10 Chicken pad Thai - 8/10 Nachos - 10/10 read more

Looking for a quick date nice or a group gathering, try this cute new place that opened up in downtown next to Hattie B's and other bars around. Service was great, food was excellent . Def recommend the chicken Philly, it was so good. My hubby didn't even get a chance to try it because I ate the whole thing. For the price you don't get much food but other than that it was a wonderful experience. read more
We stopped through Birmingham on our way home to Nashville and found this gem via Yelp reviews. We had eaten seafood and burgers at the beach all week and needed something different and this place did not disappoint! It was phenomenal! Everything was great. We got the beef and ramen, burger, the cheesesteak with beef and the spicy garlic noodles. Seriously so good. We also ordered the lettuce wraps and I'd skip those next time. The service was excellent. We went on a Wednesday and it was pretty dead. The place has a nice vibe. The foos just didn't meet expectations. We began with Fried Katsu Bites, which were good but nothing to rave about. I got the Spicy Garlic Beef Noodles, which was very sweet and not spicy at all. My friend got the Banh Mi, which was meh as well. The drink I got seemed watered down and lacked flavor. The highlight was the bread pudding which was yum! read more
Absolutely loved coming here!! I was a little hesitant because I'm vegetarian for lent and I looked at the menu beforehand to make sure they had vegetarian options but on there it seemed like there was only one option. BUT ACTUALLY, I asked if I could sub tofu for the meat, and they said yes!! Automatic 5 points just for that. The menu is up on the wall, you order and food comes out super quickly! I got the spice garlic noodle with tofu instead of beef and it was delicious! The vibe is super casual and chill with lots of big tvs on the wall where you can watch sports! Overall, once lent is over, I'm definitely coming back again to get some of their meat options! read more

I visited The Mayor last week and was greeted by the owner. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai which was pretty tasty and a nice sized portion. The service was quick and friendly. I will be returning to try a few other items on the menu. read more

The new twist on fast casual Asian food definitely did not disappoint! I have been looking forward to trying this place since I heard that the owners of East West were opening a new restaurant concept. Situated in the middle of Lakeview, I think this is a great addition to the area! First the ambiance. The vibe of this restaurant is fantastic. The low lighting and the open garage doors were a wonderful way to spend an evening. The music was early 2000s pop which was so much fun! Everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive. The drinks were all delicious. I would highly recommend either of the frozen cocktails. They are not incredibly sweet, like I was afraid they would be. The other cocktails that we tried we're good, but nothing extraordinary. I had hoped that they would lean into more Asian flavors rather than a take on a margarita and Moscow Mule. I do think that one of the aspects of this restaurant that makes it so great for the Lakeview area is its approachable menu that still respects the Asian culture for which it is inspired. Now the food. We started by sharing a banh mi with bulgogi beef and the queso tots. The banh mi was particularly delicious and the wonton chips were aggressively seasoned in a good way. It would've been a good meal all by itself. The tots were a little disappointing. I found the portion size to be quite small and the queso is underneath the tots so we ate most of them before we got any cheese. I would've liked the cheese to be drizzled over the top. The burger was good, but was much smaller than the description leads on and didn't hold a candle to the other sandwich we had. Again it was an appropriate meal for the late night crowd, but I would have liked more Asian influence on a traditional cheeseburger. We did take the bread pudding and beef Ramen for our babysitter. She raved about the Ramen and the bread pudding was also delicious but small. All in all, we will go back and try the other Asian dishes and sit on the fantastic patio again.
