I had the Chilean Sea Bass, w/ seasonal ancient grains and vegetables. The Chilean Sea Bass was also very flavorful, different than what I'm use to but delicious nonetheless. I believe the seasonal ancient grains and vegetables would have been better paired with some type of gravy or sauce. Great atmosphere inside. They really did a wonderful job with the inside decor. We walked in with a very large group and had no issues getting an area setup for us. We had 2 wonderful waitresses who attended to us quickly and regularly. All the dishes were HUGE! Easily shareable for 2. My husband ordered the fish tacos and they were tasty. I had the steak tacos that I ordered medium rare and they arrived definitely dead. Totally cooked through and tough as a boot sole. I will start with saying I downloaded this app just to review this place in particular. My wife and two kids are traveling through Montgomery for work and she wanted a steak. In ordered the garlic sirloin and she ordered the petite filet. When it came to us she said it smelt off so I was like eat mine and I'll have yours. When I bit into it I immediately knew it was spoiled meat. A gamey rotten taste I've never tasted before. We let the waitress know that I spit it out and could not eat she told us that she "Thought it smelt too". They removed it from the bill but no management came to our table or anything to resolve the issue. I couldn't even eat we paid $80 for spoiled meat. I love Firebirds. I've tried many locations so I had to try this one while I'm here for training. Me and my coworker had a phenomenal time!! I ordered the fillet and shrimp. My coworker ordered the prime rib. Everything was absolutely delicious and our waiter Nic was so friendly, cool and funny! We really enjoyed him being our waiter. This was a Pre-Mother's Day celebration 2025 and I decided we would dine at Firebirds. This ended up being a good location for everyone to meet. Once seated we were greeted by our server and a trainee. The table ordered burgers, pasta, sea bass, steak and a salad for my nephew. My brother and I enjoyed our burgers but we really didn't care for what looked like a kid's portion of fries but nonetheless the burger was actually pretty good and I only ate half. I had the three course meal which includes an appetizer, main entree, and a dessert. I ordered the Caesar salad which was incredibly fresh & the Caesar dressing was phenomenal. Even with a reservation, we ended up waiting 15 minutes for a table. I am from out of state. This is a typical chain restaurant with decent American food. The service was mediocre. I assume this was because of how packed the joint was. The table bread was delicious. We were also so hungry, so take that into consideration! I ordered the Lobster, Spinach Queso dip for the table and the Firebirds Chicken Pasta. Both dishes were average at best. The pasta has barely and chicken and the queso had barely and lobster. I came with my brother this evening for the first time, but we are from out of town and I have ordered at least four or five times for my parents to pick up and enjoy the full range of their menu: fish, steak, ribs, and chicken, which they thoroughly enjoy each time. Tonight, we were welcomed and seated graciously before the Holiday Season crowds hit the day before Thanksgiving. If you want to take advantage of the 4-7 happy hour from the main dining room, you'll have to go to the bar, settle the tab, and bring your drink back to your table. My brother and I ordered aged ribeyes, large size and medium rare, and I requested a crust, which they executed Pittsburgh pan style, not grilled. Other cuts could be grilled to give a crust apparently. They started us with a sourdough roll encrusted with sesame seeds and a ramekin of whipped butter. It was a good start. My sangria from the bar was even a notch better. Then for some reason, the waitress served our steaks before my house salad. I think she forgot my salad and my inquiry triggered her memory. It was a decent and fresh salad, accentuated with candied walnuts or pecans. The balsamic vinaigrette was barely evident. Perhaps the salad was made hastily owing to forgetting. Blue cheese crumbled would be the added recommendation. Crumbled bacon would put it over the top. The chef executed the medium well temperature to perfection and the Pittsburgh style pan crust was as good as it could be. For the record, I have never heard of Pittsburgh pan crust, but kudos to the chef for executing a customer request. The meat was flavorful and perhaps the Cajun version on the menu would have brought even more flavor to the plate. For about $41, a sixteen ounce ribeye is a pretty good value. My au gratin potatoes were pretty good and creamy, but I might have been better off with the Parmesan mashed. The folks at Firebirds have always been personable and my parents always look forward to and enjoy their orders here. In fact, Firebirds is one of their favorites in all of Montgomery. Okay. Thanks. Waiter was distracted and unprofessional. Bartender needs to learn proper barware and how to serve drinks. A simple double crown royal whiskey and sprite was served in a martini glass, neat. Ummmm. While it was funny, at first, it certainly went downhill quickly after that. The refill, after being asked to be placed in a highball with ice or even a pint glass with ice, came out in a lowball with no ice. Bread arrived well after salads and just barely before the entrees, 45 min after being sat. A 10 oz prime rib ordered medium rare arrived well done and an obvious end piece. The other prime rib was supposed to be a 14 oz but came out a 10 oz. The loaded baked potatoes were dry and hard. A very overpriced meal for less than subpar service and goods. Sad. We used to really enjoy Firebirds. Manager removed the overcooked prime rib, that was returned, not replaced, and that was all. Shame. read more

I had the AHI tuna salad, and whereas I loved the tuna, I wasn't crazy about the various ingredients they put in my salad. It said there were ancient greens grains in my salad, but there wasn't too many of them and there seem to be some garbanzo beans or chickpeas, something like that, plus it tasted somewhat peppery to me, however, I loved the tuna! They were very dry, and no dipping sauce came with it so pick another appetizer for $15.50. Beef sliders were 0/5, they were OVER cooked. Totally a waste of money. Expected some juicy meat for 3 sliders for $8.00 guess I was wrong. Smoked wings were 2/5, nothing amazing about them at all. They were not busting with juiciness or flavor. For $16.75 for 8 wings I was expecting more. The loaded potatoes were a 4/5. The could've been cooked a little longer, but the toppings were just enough. For $5.95 I should've ordered more . I've been coming here for years. It was a nice dinner tonight. On Monday they don't always have everything which is fine. I do wish they were a little faster with the cooking, but there is a worker shortage everywhere so I won't be too harsh. All of the food was great. However I think the parmesan mashed potatoes my wife ordered were off. Also although my steak was excellent, not very garlicky so I was a bit disappointed. I've been to two of these, this one and one in Woodbridge, VA. Honestly, both are the same, franchise. The ambiance is great, I love the dimmed lighting, and the wood smoke smell tops it all. However, the food is just ok and overpriced. For instance, you pay $20 for penne noodles and precooked, precut chicken. Nevertheless, they do have their differences. Our waiter, Dave, had a great personality and was very personable. However, he forgot a few of the drink orders, but I understand given that we had a total of 13 people in our party and it might have been a little confusing. However, he did a great job bringing out the food, which was a ton of appetizers and a load of entrees. Speaking of apps, the deviled eggs are very tasty, the eggrolls are an ethnic confusion in your mouth (which is not a good thing), and the lobster crab dip is good but the chips seemed stale. Some of the entrees included the cajun steak, which was huge and scrumptious, and the chicken pasta. The pasta, as I mentioned, was overpriced, albeit plenty in portion, but good. The generic bacon cheeseburger was good but the bacon, in a phrase, was "too floppy" or "limp" for our liking. In summation, the food is good but still way overpriced for how franchisy the establishment is. Additionally, the bartender made me an excellent old fashion; for real, the junk was perfectly balanced. Overall, the food is good but you're paying for the atmosphere, not the food. They still have free bread, and their bathrooms are clean, unlike most franchised restaurants.
