Ashley was our group's server last night and she did a great job. She was cheerful and kept a good eye out on our table to ensure our drinks never went dry. Food was great, service was outstanding. read more

Good afternoon, I'm going to be very candid and open and honest. I'm highly disappointed in Ashley, the general manager. Her attitude is the ABSOLUTE worst. Ive tried to ask her several times what's her deal. I have had my days mostly good. Honestly, other customers have said they detest her nasty attitude. Black and white folks, even employees!!! How in THEEEE world is she a GM!? If I see her I walk back out. RJ and Randy or RENEE will make a better GM more customer focused & kind! I can't believe only a few people have mentioned her in the reviews. She has a horrible disposition. Food is absolutely amazing. Please demote Ashley and upgrade RENEE! She seems highly intelligent and interested. No one should be afraid to come to work. I have more about her tyrannical tendencies but I'll leave it there! Edit: on 9/22/26 I was retaliated against by ASHLEY, the GM of Sinclair's!!! She threatened me to delete my review off yelp! Then to add insult to injury she mentioned she had photos and video from the shopping center cameras detailing me leaving in a depends (a diaper was detailed in their employee group chat) which I have screenshots and screen recording) it's derogatory and demeaning to treat a disabled veteran and vulnerable adult this way. Sinclairs do better. Disabled people are not up for your entertainment. Yes my stripped skirt slipped down. I decent person (man or woman) would have pulled it up or called someone for help. Avoid this morally corrupt business at all costs!!! read more

I first started eating at Sinclair's in Old Cloverdale many years ago. Then I moved to the Vaughn Road restaurant after I moved to that area of town. Now I live in Georgia, but I always stop and eat there when I'm in town. I ate there about a month ago and noticed how the prices have gone up, but the portions have gotten smaller. I ate there today and they didn't have Pinot Grigio, I asked for a bowl of she crab soup and got a cup. I waited for 30 minutes for my order of ham puff pastry. Three people around me who came in later were already eating when I got up and talked to the hostess. I explained that I had been waiting for 30 minutes and still did not have my food. I told her that I have been a customer for over 20 years, but this would be my last visit. The owners need to look at their management, especially in the kitchen! read more

Stopped for the meat and 3. Food was not upscale and the lowest quality for a meat and three in the Montgomery Area that I've had so far. Water cornbread, overcooked cabbage were a turn off. Tried a 'cup' of she crab soup for $7.95. Ok, but not worth it for the small serving. Tried it on a recommendation. Won't be back. Not worth the price. read more

The service was impeccable. The waiter was so generous and consistent with such a lovely attitude. The ambiance was pleasant, it was for grown ups with those dim lights . I enjoyed the live band. My food was delicious and worth every cent. read more

Sinclair's was a decent spot, and I'm giving it a three for now -- with plans to come back. On this visit, I wasn't blown away by the food, the service, or the drinks. The vibe also felt a little off, but it was a busy Friday night and they seemed slammed, so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt. The crowd was mixed and the atmosphere has potential, but it wasn't as welcoming as many other local spots. In fairness, I didn't speak with the manager or owners yet, which I plan to do. I always try to support local businesses, and this used to be one of my favorite places before I left Montgomery over twenty years ago. Now that we've moved back, I want it to be great. I'll give it another try and update my review after the next visit. read more

Was going to give them a try. Until I read some these horror stories. If the she crab soup smelled fishy. It was from spoiled crabs. You can keep that. I'll leave another review, If I ever go there. read more

Sinclair's is a staple for us locals! The atmosphere is fun, relaxing, and nostalgic! The food is always fresh and delicious! Definitely try the Fajitas on Tuesday and Thursday, they use fresh ingredients and Filet Mignon! The menu is great and has lots of options! The staff is great, everyone is friendly and goes above and beyond to make your dining experience lovely! read more

Service was okay. The food was mediocre at best. Overall our experience was not what we expected from other reviews.

Decided to order takeout from here last night since it had been a long time since I ate here and I was really disappointed in the meal I ordered of chicken quesadillas and greek salad. Both were not really fresh and the salad greens looked wilted. I ate 1/4 of everything before I trashed them. My companion got the fish and chips and they didn't look good either, most of it was burnt. $51 dollars wasted that I wish I could get back. Don't think I'll be going back again. read more

Thought I try Sinclair's since it had been awhile since I was last there. I arrived towards the end of the lunch rush was told that I could pick anywhere to sit. I sat close to the bar and sat there for a good 10 minutes before anyone even noticed I was there to offer me a menu. Once getting the menu I sat there for another 15 minutes while others who came in after me sitting got their orders taken. I had to ask the hostess as she was passing by if I could get my order taken. The food was ok..not something to write home about. I then had to wait another 15 minutes after eating for someone to give me the bill. Also upon leaving the front door was locked and no one informed me that I had to exit out of the side door...just happened to notice other patrons leaving out of that door. Don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. read more

Food: 3/5 Service: 1/5 Corn chowder: Best item that we ordered. It had kernels of corn in it. She crab soup: Smelled quite fishy. Not a fan. Sandwich: Nothing special. The bread kind of let me down. It was like a store bought soft sandwich loaf bread. Brie slices: My husband loves fried mozzarella so we decided to give these a go. I personally think the brie slices are too big for what it is. I love brie, but to have it on it's own, just fried up was not as pleasant as I thought it would be. The marinara was good, a bit on the sweet side. I think this was innovative, but not that great. Now for the service... We went on a Sunday, and yes it was PACKED. We were lucky to be seated quickly because it was just my husband and I. However our waitress was quite rude to us. We understood that they were short staffed, but I have been to plenty of restaurants that were short staffed, and never felt that disrespected. It was like we were an inconvenience to her. When the bill came, we told her that we had a coupon that we received (for helping local businesses) and she looks at it - and scoffs "oh my god". That honestly did it for us. Extremely unprofessional handling of the situation. Turns out the coupon isnt a big deal and it's easy to apply to the bill. Before that last encounter we were excited to be in a local restaurant with a lot of history. But when we walked out we agreed not to visit again. Food is mediocre, service was terrible for us. read more

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. We had a group reservation to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it was horrible from the minute we sat down. No menus or silverware! The food all came out at different times and one person never got theirs until we were leaving in a to go box. We all got our salads for dessert and never got our sides. All of the checks were mixed up and had to be fixed multiple times. We were there for 3 hours from the time we sat down just to eat. I have always liked this restaurant, but not anymore. They need to go ahead and close, because they won't make it long the way it has gone down hill. Save your money and go somewhere else!!! read more

Great food and awesome service! The Sje Crab Soup is sooooo good! Smoked Tuna, a must!!

As of right now great place for lunch or dinner. The service took a bit of a dip during the height of the pandemic, but I'm glad they seem to be doing better now. I love the She-crab soup, it has been a favorite of mine since college. They used to serve a scallop Cesar salad, but I'm sure that had to stop because of the price of scallops. My new fav is the fish and chips, very good and satisfying. My daughter loves them too. I'm not sure if they still allow smoking on one side of the restaurant, but there's still a bit of a smoky smell when you walk in. I usually order out for this reason. They have a full bar and sometimes live music on the weekends. They also have an even space on a lower floor. read more

Grabbed some dinner to go from this neighborhood spot. Pasta and Crab Claws were cooked well but other than that this was a miss. I have had and made Chicken Piccata many times. This "interpretation" was odd. The chicken breast wasn't pounded out and it had been deep fried. The usual lemon butter sauce was replaced with a thick white gravy. At least there were capers in it. The crust was hard and way too salty. It came with an unimaginative house salad served with a stale piece of garlic bread. read more

Sinclair's is an awesome place to go. The food is great and the entertainment they bring in is always the best!

Restaurants are struggling. Not enough workers. People not eating out. So why would you NOT want customers? Their time listed online said they were open. The sign on the door said they closed at 2. It was 1:45, sorry, we don't want to be those people but we were hungry. Not many customers inside, so it's not like they were busy. Stepped inside. No one to greet us. Ok, I stepped further inside and they saw me but still didn't come greet me. Not to say "How are you guys?", "Glad you're here", Not even "Sorry, the kitchen is closed" (just ignore the sign that says 2 p.m.). We left. Guess where we won't be eating. I'll go somewhere they want my business. I know it's Montgomery, Alabama, and restaurant service sucks most anywhere you go. But come on. read more

Always has been a great meal in the past. I haven't been in a minute but definitely going to visit and see what's up. I read all the negative comments and I think possibly some of those reviews are personal and maybe disgruntled former staff or customers that have been escorted out due to obnoxious behavior.! I will do a review soon . Really curious to see if they are as great as I remember read more

Are you kidding me???? I, a restaurant worker, went with my niece, a restaurant worker, and my mother and great niece for a celebration. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I was a huge fan of the original Sinclair's and went there 2-3 times a week on the reg. So it was my choice to bring my fam to Sinclair's east for a celebration. Let me list the issues: - we were seated with attitude and without silverware or napkins. After the apps came I had to hunt around the restaurant to find napkins and silverware for my family -the server had the worst attitude. The kind you might find cute in a Midwest diner but not in a MGM staple. It took over an hour to get food. - ALL OF OUR FOOD WAS MESSED UP. The shecrab soup was wrong, just wrong. My niece ordered a steak med-well. It came out rare. She sent it back. It came back med-rare. The server poured water onto her baked potato when she finally came to "check" on us. And the rest of our food was equally screwed up. -I spoke at length with the manager about just how horrible our experience was. - bottom line: I have never EVER stiffed a server and I did. I admit it. She was completely and unapologetically the absolute worst server I have ever had. But here is the sore spot: I wanted to walk out. I have never walked out on any table in my entire life and now I seriously regret the fact that I didn't walk out. At the end of the day, I paid $60 for four completely uneaten meals and an absolutely crap experience. I will never come back. I will tell everyone I know that Sinclair's East is absolutely nothing like the original Sinclair's. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO THIS "Sinclair's". There are plenty of other great places to eat in Montgomery. If my post could breathe fire, I would be burning the place with my words. Seriously, worst experience in mgm. read more

Amazing as always. Tonight I had the petite filet that was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The baked potato and salad were also perfect. The slightly, dirty martini with dinner made this a meal to remember. Great service, a fair price and family friendly. read more

This place is apparently a neighborhood favorite. It is always full of diners. The menu is pretty standard American fair with your cheese sticks, salads, burgers, chicken and steak. Our server was friendly, but a bit slow with the ketchup but overall i give him a thumbs up for his service. He had recommended the Kowaliga Bites as an appetizer, which is lightly battered grouper served with a cocktail sauce and a tartar sauce. We really liked it. As for our main course, my husband got the mushroom Swiss burger and I got the veggie one. They are served with fries or onion rings. The thumbs up was for this part: our waiter gave us an option to have half and half of each OR a side of vegetables (which was my preference) without my asking. The burgers were okay, that's it. Nothing much more to say about that. The side are sauteed zucchini and squash was delicious. read more

Sinclair's East - New American Near Me - Montgomery, Alabama

This was my first time trying Sinclair's but I had heard great things for a while. The experience did not disappoint at all. They were very accommodating to our large group (7 total). Appetizers: fried mushrooms and she-crab soup. The fried mushrooms were decent and could have used a bit of seasoning, but the soup was EXCEPTIONAL. Main meal: executive burger. They let you pick a mix of fries and onion rings which was pretty neat. Unfortunately the onion rings were a big miss. They were chewy and just not good. The burger was on point, though and it came with bacon. They did not skimp AT ALL. A friend ordered the bananas foster for dessert and while not my favorite dessert, the bite I tried was incredible. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I will definitely be back to Sinclair's when I'm in town. read more

Food is great and Charlie C band is really entertaining! Large food Menu and service is excellent- good time had by my party of 6

Food was good once we got it. After waiting for an hour, the server came back and said they had lost our order and she needed to take it again. By that time several of the items we ordered were not available. We can't spend two hours for lunch, so i guest Sinclair's will not be on our list of restaurants for lunch in the future. read more

So I don't dine-in here because it smells like old dirty carpet or something, BUT the she crab soup is to die for. Like I have dreams about it. Sinclair's is a weird little spot with some really great menu items and others kind of so-so. I prefer takeout so as not to smell the stale cigarette fragrance of the place. I know, strange review, lol, but get you some of that soup! read more

Seats too old, service was very bad (understaffed) on valentines. Spent 30 mins waiting for our waters and decided to leave.

Shrimp pesto dinner is the best! Staff is friendly and attentive. Smoking allowed in the bar, which is separated from main dining area. Separate large party (20-30) area for special events. Nights with live bands get a bit loud. read more

This place is bleak. The atmosphere is so dreary. The food is okay. The customer service is lacking. At least they're consistent with that. When I checked in on my Yelp app, a coupon for a free beverage and appetizer popped up on my phone. I showed it to the waitress, who then got the manager. The manager stated, "We stopped that. We had a sign on the door. We stopped that years ago." read more

Came for a dinner party despite others saying they had a bad experience. Room was 68 degrees, one below average waiter for 20+ people, dirty plates, bad drinks, rude bartender, etc. It's 2019 and you still allow smoking in your restaurant? Waited over an hour and 40 minutes for our food. Find another location... read more

There was a Christmas party here that I attended and if it wasn't for that I would have never known about this place. Nothing on the menu jumped out at me so I figured that you can't go wrong with a burger. It was a standard burger, nothing special, I would order it again if I had to come here again. Luckily we were sat in a different area then the main dinning area because the cigarette smoke was TERRIBLE walking through the main restaurant. That alone is the reason I would never willingly come to this establishment. read more

Came here with my husband on a week night. The place is cool and quaint. I'm sure if I wasn't pregnant I would enjoy just coming to drinks to get out the house. The food....NOT GOOD!!! We had an appetizer which consisted of shrimp with feta cheese in some soupy water seasoned with red pepper and capers. The shrimp wasn't seasoned at all. Looks like they were frozen and steamed. :-( A side salad came with our entree and that seemed to come out of a bag you'd buy at Walmart. (The herb vinaigrette dressing was good). My dinner was SUPPOSED to be Cajun chicken carbonara -_- They served me 3 dry chicken tenders with old seasoning on top of a big bed of the cheesiest "fettuccini alfredo" ...it was so gross and seemed to be a bowl of melted cheeses. My husband got the "Hawaiian tenderloin". The terrible sauce they used could have been better. Only thing that makes it Hawaiian is the big slices pineapple they put on top. The steak was tender but the sauce was a joke. I ended up sending my food back. The hunt for GOOD FOOD in Montgomery continues ... read more

We had a great experience at Sinclair's. Generally: They have a smoking/bar side of the restaurant separated by glass pains from the non-smoking side. The seating was nice as it had both leather covered seats and booths. They provide adjustable lighting via a dimmer switch at each booth. I believe they could handle a medium sized to large sized group. Service: The waiter was very friendly with a great sense of humor. He kept our drinks refilled and checked on us regularly. Food: They have a nice variety of food and desserts. The fish and chips, and fried brie wedges with marinara were both great. Recommend: I would not hesitate to recommend Sinclair's. read more

The food was good. The staff was not! We reserved a room until 9 but our food orders were not taken until about 8:40 after we continued to nearly beg the staff. They had attitudes and I overheard them laughing and having a very disturbing conversation of them mimicking "black people making orders." read more
