Communication prior was great. Everything went well and we had a great time. With the added bartender and outside dessert fee, the total was roughly $105/person for 18 people. This included the pimento cheese board, wedge salad, entree, and small dessert. It is a tiny bit pricey for the size of the entrees, but was worth it for the private space, service, and quality.

Drinks of water, orange juice and sweet tea were in the dining room to the left of the hall. Now the dining room is large enough area to accommodate a party of 40 (there were 28 of us). I don't care for southern cuisine, unless it's seafood. But I did like both fried and baked chickens, spinach and cabbages; had multiple helping of them. I wished rice was included. The abundance of spaces between the tables helped in reducing the noise level. I sat at one of the smaller tables so that helped a lot. The overall decor evokes a pre-1980s feel, and apparently so is the upkeep of the building. The service was good enough that I would have given it at least four stars. Then I went to the men's restroom. When I finished my business, I turned the doorknob to unlock and it came loose. I though: was the door unlocked the entire time? This was shocking. Anyone could have entered. For that, one star is removed. (Had someone entered while I was *ahem* busy, I would have deducted two stars.) The restroom doorknob issue is enough reason for me to not recommend O'Dessa's Blessings. I hope the owners have done something about that.

They have a large parking lot that accommodates the Whitewater Park traffic as well as the restaurant. There are a lot of positives about Eddy's and they accommodated my table of four with my parents and brother about forty-five minutes from their Saturday closing time for their kitchen at 9:30. The overall hours were not clear for Saturdays or any of the days. Let's get the one glaring issue out of the way, and it must be understood in light of closing time. Service was not up to par for several reasons: the server had to be asked a few times to bring saucers for the chicken wing appetizer, never brought additional napkins, and never cleared any plates or napkins from appetizer service or any service until we departed. Yes it was near closing time, but our server was talking to other people instead. Now let's get to the good parts. The server had the bartender make a spicy margarita and it was quite good. The smoked wings definitely had the smoky flavor and it was enhanced by their Eddy's special sauce with chipotle. I'm sure if we were a little further from closing time, they would have been crisper or perhaps if we had been able to eat them immediately without having to wait for saucers. Who brings wings with no saucers..? My father liked his burger and my brother liked his Asian bowl. My mother and I thoroughly enjoyed the crab cake burgers, which, at $22 with fries, is a good value. Moreover, the crab cake burgers are thick and all lump crab meat with little to no filler, just enough to keep it together and breaded when deep fried. Served with a fried onion ring, mesculin greens, and aoli was very good. The fries are also very good, dusted with a little Old Bay. I imagine the crab cake burgers will become one of the signature offerings from Eddy's once it becomes well established. If I could suggest a few changes, it would be to skip the breading and frying, and fried onion ring, and opt to broil it panko encrusted with a slice of heirloom tomato so the lump crab flavor and texture come through cleanly and unimpeded. Eddy's is new and doubtlessly they are working out the kinks. It's a great location, with a modern and clean interior decor. There are a lot of flatscreens to catch the games and a lot of large windows to bring in the outdoor natural ambience. If they work out the service kinks, they will be getting three and a half and four star ratings. For now, they are at three stars.
